I'm right there with you. I have really pathetic buildings compared to those. Thank god for having a skilled fan base. :laugh.gif:

:tongue.gif:
I tried the 256x pack but I think its a bit too realistic (looks great though!), might stick with the less detail :tongue.gif: Will try out the 64 & 128 now
This pack is the one used by the server I play on. Personally, I prefer 16x and 32x packs, but this one's good.
The only thing that aggravates me to the point of no end is that the book is open. If it was just slightly open, I'd be fine, but when someone is holding a book in-game, it looks like a bunch of papers, or even just feathers. Could you revise the book to be closed/near closed?
Would you know of any reason why my tools appear as white block and not tools?
I am about to try a re download of your Texture and a re-install of minecraft but if there is an easier fix i would love to know and or the cause of the problem
thanks

PS: i did not read the whole 254 pages but now i realise,i am not the only one with this problem, so ill give some info
i am running vista
i downloaded the compressed 256x256
everything except the tools and weapons are OK
im not getting any frame rate drop or lagg during game play
it takes a while for minecraft to boot up with the text pack enabled
i have tried rebooting my pc and minecraft
i have reverted back and from the normall and your texture pack
im not sure of the specs but i have a dell xps something but it is a gaming pc
i love the texture pack
First of all, this is a superb texture pack and I have been using it for a while now as it just looks awesome (especially the sparkling water), also, since your update with the compression pack it runs very smoothly without any real noticeable difference in quality. Excellent job.
Thank you. Water is a favorite of mine as well. Took a while just to get it right. =)
The compressed version of the pack took quite a while to get it down to that size. I was extremely pleased with the results I was having on 3 different computers.
I really like this pack, it's amazing how real it looks and that my comp can run it without crapping out on me :tongue.gif: I chuckled when I saw that one of the paintings looks like the girl on the front of the novel "Elske", was it intentional or another source? The book is very good btw. Anywho, loving the textures, especially clouds and trees it gives a good atmosphere.
I'm using Adiorn's art work for the moment being. It may be the same girl from the novel. XD
I'll get my version in there soon enough. I'm a big fan of the LotR themed paintings so those may stay.

Oh come on now... It's ATLEAST 4x4. :tongue.gif:
If Minecraft ever had an official texture filtering, the x256 would be beyond amazing and more people would like HD packs. Alas, "mipmapping sucks" was the quote from Notch, I believe.

Ah, yes. I've had a gripe with that texture for quite some time. I haven't gotten around to actually doing anything with it as books serve almost no purpose. Once I finish up my other project, I'll get back to this pack and finish the items.png completely. ^^
Would you know of any reason why my tools appear as white block and not tools?

Dreaded white box error. =(
My only recommendation is to follow the link at the top of the first post on memory allocation. After you do that, try a reinstallation and see if that fixes it. Also, if you have a 64bit computer, install 64bit Java.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, the (yellow) flower in the texture pack could do with a makeover, i mean there is nothing wrong with the quality of it as such, it just looks a bit lifeless if you know what I mean, i know its not finished yet but thought you might like some constructive feedback. :smile.gif:
What is this other project you speak of? is it texture related or anything Minecraft?
Cheers.
I've looked through quite a few textures for the yellow flower and a while back I was tempted to change it. I tried to go with something unique and no one ever used golden rod as their yellow plant.
The side project I'm doing is for a "28 Weeks Later" Minecraft movie. I was a huge fan of the original movie so I couldn't refuse the offer.
Ultimately, I made a huge amount of new textures which will be added as a possible bonus content for this pack as a "post-apocalypse" theme. =)
The compressed version has been compromised with a survey.(256x)

Awww... I get 0~4 FPS with the 256x one even with optifog + optimine + FM Debug :sad.gif: *Goes to test 128x*
I seriously can't even run the 128x version? :/ Wow :sleep.gif: 64x lags to xD Do more mods lag it? Or is it my laptop? Also, you don't have a 32x version? D:

All versions are 32x and 64x You only have to download a java for 64x if you have it. And i actually think its your laptop graphic card.
I'm wondering something. I had you're texture pack for some time and I think you could retouch the logs (chunk of tree) a little. Theres 3 kind (Ill give them color) The gray one (the one we see the most) the white one (the 2nd) and the brown one. The thing is the top and bottom of the block all look the same. The gray, white and brown. You have the middle of the tree, but in the corners the bark is always the gray one. Could you look into it?
when i installed it and used modloader it worked fine but when i quit and start it up again lots of thing including the tools have their icon be a white box and when i equip it it shows it's a white box.

can someone help?
This may be a cause from the modloader adding in more memory and causing it to be like that. I'd try increasing your Java heap size with the link at the top of the first posts and reinstall. That may help, but I have no guarantees on the white box issue. =(

Nice work though continue like that :biggrin.gif:
Unfortunately, that's a coding issue that I can't mess around with unless I want a mod. =/
All the trees use the exact same top/bottom so it's difficult to find that happy medium that looks like all 3 trees would have.
Quick question is there a terrain_s.png & terrain_nh.png files avalible for this texture pack for the 256 version
Probably won't be. I haven't heard from dufric88 in ages (The one working on the specs/height maps) and I can't because my computer won't run that aspect of the shaders mod.
The only pack I can use is the 64x one, but I used to be able to easily run 256x.
I'll be very blatant with you because I'm a little irritated today. The 1.6 update sucks. I've never this many issues with an update as I do now. They've broken so many damn things and every time they fix 1 issue, 5 more issue spawn from it. It's a great process. =(
Anyway, can you post some computer specs? Sorry for the rant.
I have a question, would it be possible to make a version that is compatible with finite liquid?
The only textures that did not work with it were water and the new textures for the pipes and other objects added.
Also, this is a truly great texture pack. I love that I no longer have to look at blocky blocks any more. The game feels much more polished. Great job.

Thanks, though. It's take a very long time to get it this far.

I do believe most MMOs are more CPU intensive than they are RAM.
My MC client uses like 700-900MB...
