NOTICE:
I will be taking a brief break after updating this texture pack one more time. I'm working on making a movie based of the intro of 28 weeks later. I will keep the textures that I'm using for this film if anyone was interested. Hell, I may even have a zombie version of this texture pack.
Hi there, i just finish "testing" the Texture Pack love it!but i still have a problem (cos im a nwbie)
is it just my computer,or HD texture pack DOES need a very long time to load?(well just changing from default to this one, takes about 15 seconds on my Computer)
about the memory thingy,i've done it all.from the control panel(JAVA tab.even i changed it to 3072 mb instead of 2048 mb),to the HD pather(still the 2048mb),and the 64-bit JAVA.
can some one help me?
oh yeah, the GAME itself doesnt lag.in fact,it goes REALLY SMOOTH....
and one more thing:on my comp,if i cast a rod, only the string that show up but not the rod

Yeah, it's normal. 256x256 pixels takes a lot longer to load than 16x.
The textures are very nice as well, but it's been so long since I've seen the movie so it's hard to compare in my mind.
But judging by your l33t texturing skills, I'm sure they are EXTREMELY close to looking like the movie. :3
I bought the movie in Bluray to be able to see some better detail on the textures in the house. ^^
I only have one minor problem. When I'm looking at certain rock (IE, Obsidian) I can't see the outline of the box to make sure I put a torch on the right block. Now is there possibly a mod I could just use to make the line, let's say white or a neon color so I know which block I'm looking at?
I'm not sure if there is a mod out there to fix that. =(
It would be extremely helpful the outline was based on what block you were looking at such as black outline for white wool and white outline for bedrock.

Yea, that is normal and nothing can be done about it. The textures are massive compared to the original ones. 256x256 is one texture here where as it was the entire terrain for vanilla Minecraft.
This appears to be broken for me since the last update. Downloaded the latest version, used the MC patcher, but all I get is a black screen in the MC window when I try to play with the pack activated. Help?
Dammit I got Vista 32bit because Window 7 64bit is an extra 100$, will I be ok still?
With both Vista and Windows 7 you have the option of installing either 32 or 64 bit versions. If you have the 32 bit version you will just need to follow the instructions in the package materials to get a 64 bit version sent to you under the same license, although it will cost $10 or so to get a disc shipped. You can also just download a copy of Vista 64-bit from anywhere, even just installing a trial and then entering your CD key to activate it. The CD key is not attached to your specific disc and your purchase of the OS allows you to install one or the other on any one machine at a time.
You'll be ok with Vista 64 as long as you install all the service packs and updates. It is a far inferior OS to Windows 7 but they ironed out most of the big bugs with it in service pack releases.
ok so i am having a bit of diffuculty... i have installed the texture pack.. then i downloaded the patcher. i set the patchers 2043 thinger then clicked patch.
(i did this because i was getting the black screen when i tried to use the texture pack.)
well afteri did what you said to i tried to go into minecraft to try it again. after opening mine craft i got the black screen. now im not able to play at all... what could be the problem and how do i fix it?
i have windows vista 64-bit.
6gig ram
and i have installed 64 bit java browser and i changed the patchers
java heap size to 2048
after doing so i trying going into minecraft to try it out but minecraft wont take me to the single player screen anymore.
i also tried browsing in the patcher for the zipped file lp photo realism so that i could click patch after locating it but i couldnt even find the zipped file in the patcher.
after that i looked for the file, come to find out, the file is STILL in the textures folder. so i rlly dont understande where it is going or if i should just delete the pack so i can just play still.

Install 64bit Java silly. Won't have any memory issue then and no blackscreens. =)

Exactly. Even though Vista is extremely useless compared to Windows 7, I'd try to get a hold of a 64bit. Hell, downloading it ISN'T against the law as long as you use your key. ^^

Unfortunately, that's an out of memory error that corrupted the textures. =S
What are some of your specs? You may need to allocate memory or even downgrade.
but i went to that link and installed it... and idk if this means anything but when im in the patcher the option for hd textures isint available... like... i cant chek the box to enable it

I've had that happen once after updating my Java. I just clicked the patcher again and it was available to patch. I'm not sure what could have caused it. Try running Minecraft and check your processes in Task Manager. If it says something like Java *32 or Java x86, then it's still running of off 32bit Java.
Here's a link for 64bit that I always use just in case the download kept redirecting you to 32bit Java like mine always did. It's something to do with using a 32bit web browser that it assumes you have a 32bit computer.
ok so i downloaded what you had sent me and i clicked patch again... then went into minecraft to use it and it gave me a black screen again.... is there anything i have to unrar... or something? or a video i could watch? also... when i go into the patcher.....hd textures still isint enabled... is it just the fact that i dont know how to use the patcher??? i cant find a video on how to use it either except this one or if you airnt busy maybe i could talk to you in some kind of voice chat?
I reinstalled Minecraft, installed Java for 64-bit, ran the MC Patcher-2.0.1. and I still get this error. It's like the black screen of death
Minecraft has crashed!

Not possible. =/
It works fine in muliplayer even if you use MCpatcher. I'm on a server right now.
More progress on the movie set. =)
