I'm doing the best that I can as an artist to make run better for everyone. These new compressed versions are running on average (for me) 200-500mb less memory.

Yea, me either. That's why I'm asking for opinions for people who actually use it. I have 1 portal on my survival server. It's been there the entire time that we've been able to go to the Nether and I've been there twice. Not enough incentive to risk my ass for.

Looks ugly against all that red too, I'd recommend R:255 G:255 B:0 (Yellow)
Instead of just R:0 G:0 B:255
I have Optifog installed as well as Modloader. Could this be the cause?
As Agent said. We'll need some of your specs to further analyze it. The only reason a mod would crash it is because of an incompatibility with the latest version of Minecraft (Or in a few rare instances, some mods were only designed for x16/x32 resolutions).
I'm unaware if any mods are conflicting with the HD patcher. You may also want to look into that as well. Better grass which is part of the HD patcher (You can uncheck it prior to patching and that usually causes conflicts)

From an artistic standpoint, blue compliments red far greater than yellow would. I'm probably just going to keep it as is. The yellow is much needed in the terrain.png as the blue is, as you said, similar to a diamond block.

1. You need an alternative Glowstone texture, Current one is not for lights
2. Who uses blue as lights?

Last I heard, Scuttles tried, And failed, Then another user 'dufric88' I think, started his own bumpmaps for this pack, they aren't done, And I'm not sure if he started 5.0.4 yet.

If you try to tell me that it is because of the website that the file is loaded on, tell me why when I type virus in the search bar in this forum, the only posts about viruses is in this one...

There are NO virus' in this texture pack, Either 1. It's from something else
Or 2. False Positive.
Whatever, continue to let people download this pack and get infected as well. I spent 5 hours deleting this crap from my computer.
You know what makes it more suspicious than anything else? Whenever I used google or went into my minecraft folder, they would close out and open a "minecraft" page asking me to log in, basically trying to get my minecraft information.

PS: A good Friend studies Photo/Movie Techniques (sry i dont know the english name for that). I can ask her to reduce the size of the file but keeping the quality.
Not only the terrain file, but the entire pack. I've managed to reduce the x256 from 60mb to 33mb which is a significant drop. This also reduces the amount of memory it takes to load the texture pack. Of course, it's extremely experimental and I'm not done picking out the bugs.

For some reason, a lot of the Textures just appear as white blocks when I tried using the 256x256 texture pack.
Items 256 to 2557 have all become white squares. Items 1 to 96 all appear just fine.
Help?
Edit: Disregard this, I didn't know White Boxes constituted losing memory.

Judging by the screenshot I'm sure it's not a false positive.
I would say it's most likely from Adfly redirecting him to another download, and he wasn't paying attention and downloaded THAT instead, and ran it.
