It's Java, for the most part. If Minecraft was done in, say, C++ it'd be better. Java... see my sig. Here's hoping that later when modding gets easier to do someone does just that, non-java Minecraft. You'd get a big FPS increase, it wouldn't break as easy, and it wouldn't be such a resource hog.
There's a reason you don't normally see Java used anymore.
Yeah well java is pretty faulty.
On the other hand I fixed my problem with the out of memory.
I was using the 32-bit java without knowing like a dumbass.
Thanks, PhantomGamer.
Installed the 64 bit version of java and the pack worked fine yesterday, now it crashes my minecraft over and over even after a clean install... Methinks you created a new bug?
Actually, after deciding to try DLing the 64 bit just to check, which I did and it still crashes the game... I am boycotting this pack due to the authors insisting on using Ad.fly which leads to trojan containing pop ups, I was not infected but even posting your packs on this sort of site means you are in it for you and not the players..
The pack also does not work currently and even at 128 looks nothing like the video which clearly has post process effects added.. Neat pack but seems the author has no sense about him.. or is just a greedy little swine who cares little about your PC or the 100+ comments asking for a single DL link..
Holy crap guys if it works in x64 and not x128 if you follow the steps in the main post you probably won't get past x64. So deal with it!
Btw namcro your pc sucks. Terrible cpu slow ram, old gfx card... Why not upgrade it?
My name is namro btw... T_T
I can't seems to understand why you guys say that my computer sucks?
Did YOU bought it 1.5 years ago and it's still in perfect shape?
ANYWAY, after a few posts i understood that the problem is not my computer, not the normal fog, it's the 'TEST' version of the HD patcher, so now ths 128x version run just fine, thank you for all of your help (not just you. but everyone that helped me).
I am getting the same issue, the game says it is out of memory no matter how much i give it, this is a great texture pack but if this can't be fixed then it's a shame. Have to find another texture to use.

what anti-virus do you use?
i'm asking because i use AVG internet security 2011 (always updated) Spybot S&D, MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) Malware bytes anti-malware and i have never ever gotten any trojans from ad.fly
I don't know if this will help with anyone's problems seeing how everyone seems to be running under 8 GB of RAM but go to the run msconfig and go to the boot menu, then click on advanced options and turn up the maximum memory for your computer. I've had a few issues where I've had to do this cause windows update likes to set that to a minimum instead of giving your computer some room to run. I mean I've got 16 GBs of RAM and I'm not letting any of that go to waste. XD
Oh and I have to agree with Chaoticstorm, I've been downloading this pack through ad.fly and haven't had one virus/trojan hit me at all. If you're getting trojans/viruses, they are more than likely coming from somewhere else. Also my texture pack for all three settings of 64X, 128X, and 256X are working fine for me, I think if you've not tried to do any of the installation suggestions, you should do so. As Scuttles stated, you need to do that otherwise you'll run into issues. If you're still having issues after doing all of the steps then it's just a hardware/software issue with your computer. I know, I've been through a lot of texture packs that didn't work because of hardware/software settings on my computer. I fixed those and they worked afterwards.
Anyways, nice job on this texture pack Scuttles, I'll definitely continue downloading this pack. n_n
I love this texture pack ,i t's awesome!!
But i dont like the glas, just make simpel glass i think would be great and i have a problem,
when i playing with 256x, it says "out of memory" after a while...
Any ideas?? :smile.gif:
in mcpatcher up the allocated memory, from say 1024 to 1536

1. Video has absolutely NO EDITING done with it. You're an idiot for not reading the description. All he did was have a mod that increases the render distance beyond far and a cloud mod.
2. The reason I'm doing Adfly is for my kid that the wife and I want. There is absolutely nothing for me. Everything goes into a fund that hopefully will give my kid some diapers and maybe a decent college. XD
3. Due to your superior lack of reading skills thus far, I'm going to go ahead and assume that you didn't read any of the directions either. Good game, sir. Enjoy boycotting with a lost cause.
Yeah, of course, there is an obvious link between Adfly, Trojans and Popups... And Scuttles doesn't care about us, he spent countless hours working on this pack only to infect your computer (yes, only yours!) with popup-filled trojan viruses from Hell...
Again, I use this pack since Beta 1.3 (since I play Minecraft, basically ^^ ) and I never had issues with it. Get a better computer, learn to use what you have, or just stick to 64x :wink.gif:
Saw through my plan. :unsure.gif:
But yea, I can guarantee that absolutely nothing is wrong with the texture pack. 99% of the time is user error and then they proceed to say "thanks for ruining my game". If they aren't competent enough to get this to work or even ask for help, it's their own damn fault.
This is the absolute most retarded mickey mouse ghetto fix ever, but it seems to work consistently. (for me anyway)
1. Switch your texture pack to the default (switching to any other pack seems to work too)
2. Restart Minecraft.
3. Switch back to LB Photo Realism
It should work fine now, but quitting the game seems to reset it and you'll have to do it over again.
This is with 128x, btw. Haven't tried it with other versions.
Hope this works for you guys!
EDIT: Also using 64 bit Java, though I'm not sure whether it actually effects anything.
Odd way to bypass the HD patch error. XD
He did a quick fix last night so it probably won't happen again.
I am getting the same issue, the game says it is out of memory no matter how much i give it, this is a great texture pack but if this can't be fixed then it's a shame. Have to find another texture to use.
Computer specs? You may just need to install 64bit Java which is usually the case.
I just downloaded this texture pack, and whenever I try to set it as my texture pack, the game crashes and leaves a black screen. When I googled this, it said that means the texture pack is out dated. I know the title says 1.6.5 compatible, but are the links on the first page the right ones? Thanks in advance.
I can't wait for a day where minecraft will allocate ram as needed for large texture packs and give errors like you need more ram to run this texture pack... But if that ever even happens there will still be trolls...

Wherever you got that information is entirely bogus. A texture pack, regardless, will ALWAYS work. You'll just be missing a few textures if it's not updated. I'm guessing you're running out of RAM to run the game and it's crashing or you're not using the HD patcher.

Yep... with each generation we really are getting more unintelligent. =/

Okay, I have set my java's runtime parameters to "-Xincgc -Xmx1536M". Is there anything I should do in MCPatcher before attempting to run the texture pack?
I'm not sure if my computer is able to handle the 256 version of this TP, I'm trying to be polite as possible as i'm not that good with all this computer and technology stuff. Is my computer capable of handling at least the 128x version?
Just kinda poking my head in here, but I don't think this was addresses for you yet.
If you are running a 64-bit OS, the best thing you can do is install 64-bit Java. Unless you have actively and consciously done so, Windows is still trying to run the 32-bit Java, and this leads to memory overruns on a 64-bit OS.
i'm asking because i use AVG internet security 2011 (always updated) Spybot S&D, MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) Malware bytes anti-malware and i have never ever gotten any trojans from ad.fly
Just want to add, since I only read this now, running Multiple anti-virus solutions isn't recommended.
They can interfere with each other, and having so many running can slow down your computer.
I recommend choosing between AVG and MSE, and then only using ONE of them.
You don't need the Spybot S&D then.
You CAN still use MBAM, but it isn't completely necessarily.
Personally I only use MSE and I've been fine.
I do also use MBAM for scans, but I don't have it actively running.

I think you mean the LotR server that I'm a huge fan of. You have to go visit their thread. :wink.gif:

Curse PremiumYou have to be more specific than that... What specs do you have and did you use the HD patcher?

Are you seriously telling me you can't click on the Sticky in the Texture Pack forum?

I wish people will be smarter, like one of my class-mate, she just moron, can't understand a thing!

Click on Start, select Internet Explorer (64-bit) and then go to http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie-64bit.jsp?locale=en . Once you've got that you should see an end to the black screens and crashes you might be experiencing during play.
[EDIT: Ah, I see in a later post that you took care of this. Hopefully it will be useful info to others with the same issue, then.]
