There definitely seems to be a pattern appearing...
I'm almost confident in the fact that at least the 256X pack and possibly the 128X pack will not perform with less than 3GB of RAM available!
My Windows XP (32bit) installation reports that 2.5GB (2586332K) of memory is free at the point of start up. Under these conditions both the 128X and 256X texture packs result in an error.(Out of Memory)
I'll have the results from my Windows 7 (64bit) installation later. I'm preparing it on a separate hard disk partition at the moment. Hopefully use of all 4096MB will make a difference if Windows 7 and any other software leaves enough free RAM.
If the 128X or 256X packs work for you, what OS and effective RAM quantity are you operating under?
This should prove interesting.
i can run it in 64 bit with 1gb allocated. but 8gb ram total.
edit: also scuttles i found something for you to do sometime. change the air bubbles to something less ugly.

I think it is indeed the mcPatcher,
I dont see what changed that drastically in system resource demand from 1.5 to 1.6, its the same amount of objects to render... it has to be something with the patcher...
1.5 ran flawlessly with 256 for me, no reason it would start giving me issues now at 128 just because a game update was made...
patcher patcher patcher,
question is, are they aware of this problem?
What the hell! when i try to use this texture pack on 256x256 (yeas i have a super computer ok)it says that minecraft has run out of memory. and I deleted my minecraft and reinstalled everything and I only put LB (your epic texture pack) on and i still had the same outcome. PLEASE HELP!!! :sad.gif:

I do not know what the issue is BUT: I use the LB 128 pack and it worked fine with mcpatcher 2.1.0 on MC 1.6.4. Now that MC updated to 1.6.5 it has stopped working.
Not sure what changed but soemthing is fried and I think it is MC. mcpatcher and the texture packs may need to be updated to work.

MCPatcher has an updated version available... 2.10_01beta... It's posted in the thread, within the last few pages.
Though 2.10 regular should still work fine.
Can you give us the error you are getting when it crashes? In code tags please.
guys if it doesn't work post in the mcpatcher forum not here because the dev of the texture pack doesn't know how to fix it. its an issue with the dev of mc patcher.

Well there is no error code. it does not crash, it just says it has run out of memory bla bla bla bla please restart the game. look at the photo leo2208 posted. its exactly what we get when we try to load a world. there is no error code thingy. minecraft just says it in a civilized manner.

I know plenty of 14 year olds that can do it, don't use your age as an excuse.
Hell, I know a few 9 year olds that can do it.
Go to Control Panel, type in Java, click Java, click Java, click View, change Runtime Parameters.
I have mine set to
-Xincgc -Xmx2048M
Change that around, depending on how much RAM you have.
I'm always happy just 'cause there isn't a reason to be sad.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.

I do not actually get an error. If I have the 128 or 256 pack in my texture folder I get a blank screen in game where I should get the menu. After a few seconds it goes to black. Game frozen. If I have the 64 in the texture pack folder the game will start and I even get to the menu. If I try to select teh 64bit texture pack I get the blank screen then black.
I reverted back to 1.6.4 fpr now though and it all works perfectly fine so no hurry. I just wanted to ensure this was reported.

Hint: Test Minecraft in MCPatcher, wonder what that button does? :-)
Thanks, but this is not a fault of the texture pack...
This is with MCPatcher, and/or more likely, your computer.
I think Java is slightly easier than PHP...
Maybe that's just me. :tongue.gif:
