i am loving walking around with this texturepack! sadly that is all i can do though, if I open my inventory minecraft crashes. Could someone just pm me with a link to their .minecraft file? or compile all the mods to one? using them is very confusing as there are 6 diffrent ".jar" files in minecraft's bin file, so when the ladybug guy says to "just put them into the bin jar file" i find myself confused. im dumb i know
minecraft.jar is the only one that the game uses. The other ones are backups created by the patcher. The process goes:
1. Use Mcpatcher and select the ZIP for LB's pack
2. Use MrMpatcher to patch in his mods if you want them (Better Light, Better Grass, etc) (also, make sure to select minecraft.jar in the output line)
3. Open minecraft.jar using WinRar and copy the 3 files from the Wild Grass mod folder into that archive
4. Copy the dt.class file from the glass mod ZIP into minecraft.jar just like in step 3
5. Patch in any other mods
You can stop after any step, particularly if you're troubleshooting to see which one is causing the issue and eliminate it the next time around. One thing you can do to save time is delete your /bin/ folder then log in to minecraft. This will create a new /bin/ folder with the default minecraft textures. If you then copy that /bin/ folder somewhere or rename it you'll have a backup to start from each time and don't have to worry about all those backup minecraft.jar files building up.
After you have a working build of a minecraft texture pack, you can copy the /bin/ folder to a different location and/or rename it to make it easier to switch between high res packs. The folders will then be modular and can be swapped in and out without changing anything else. Minecraft uses the folder called /bin/ when it runs. It's always a good idea to back up that folder anyway. That way if Mojang does an update that breaks your pack, you can revert back to that backed-up directory, delete your login information and play the game offline (so it doesn't auto update) while the authors update the texture packs.
btw, here's a video I did real quick for my channel showing off the pack. The 1080p footage wasn't processing right so I had to limit it to 720p.

Very nice video. Now you'll have to record one with the new update. ;D
I took notes on your likes and dislikes, so I'll try to work on that.
In the new pack:
I did address the water. Sorry about that one, it was a simple placeholder to try and veer away from other packs.
The lava heat haze has been refined and I increased the resolution.

Wow , nice work with the biomes.I had some problems with my fps at first but now i'm between 70-140+ hehe.
Thankyou empyre69! works wonderful. I only get 12 fps though, so I might change to 128x128.
very very beautiful world ladybug guy! Im glad you made it, the water looks weird though.
+1 to ladybug guy
edit: by ladybug guy i mean Scuttles
Lol, "ladybug guy" made my wife's day. ^^
I do need to make the water a bit more... Wavy. I've been working on making the items.png since that's the next most noticeable thing when playing on this pack. The original items were of really low res it seems, but luckily it was just the template for my items.
The 128x128 is now going to start being updated and refined to become more uniform with the 256x256
Okay, so I may become a bit confused. IS this biom update in teh 2.0 file? I had to change the grass textures in wildgrass because the new wildgrass mod is all janky. DO I use the latest wildgrass or the last one before the patcher?
anyway, I was thinking, that transparent wavy thing you have going on with the water, that is good, keep it & ditch the other texture and just leave it transparent, a bit opaque perhaps. The thing is just a morph on the texture I think. So, you would need some kind of texture, but I think the morph is all you would need on top of a solid color.

The latest wildgrass should have the option of using the patcher or manually install it (Minus his terrain.png)
Yes, the realistic biome is in the 2.0 file. It's 256x256 for now, but I'll be making a lower res soon. I haven't looked to see if he broke the new wildgrass recently so I might have to check up on that.
EDIT:
So the still water needs to just have a minor tweak to it?
You are quite a worthy opponent, sushimaster, but I must say it has been a pleasure competing with you.
"Better is the enemy of good"

Scuttles, I've decided to wait to make my movie as I'm still looking for a good set. In the mean time, here are some titles I made for you:
[Snipped the huge]
Nice, the wife and I agree that the angled shot is better. I'll add that to my main page.
I need to have some sort of competition for you two. XD
Edit:
sushimaster, if you have better sings I would be more than delighted to add it to the next pack. I haven't got around to them and additional help would certainly speed things up.
I'm still going back and forth between my 128 pack and this one. A couple more things I noticed, the Stone and Cobblestone block icons from the inventory are very close and hard to distinguish between (http://i.imgur.com/6q4bH.jpg). When placed there is an obvious difference but in the inventory I keep mixing them up. Also, glass seems to not be visible from above the water. I have underwater structures made of glass and they disappear when I pop my head up over the waterline. Is this the glass mod or your pack?

If you're running the 128 pack with glass mod, then yea the mod would do that.
I'll have to try a quick fix on how to make the two blocks distinguishable. I tried to make them uniform, but obviously didn't think things through. XD

Quick note, the Minecart icon is different than the item.
Thanks, fixed.
It will be in the next update.

This + WildGrass + Betterlight/grass = Crysys in cubes.
Best texture pack. Ever.
Lol, thanks
Comments like these make me want to complete this faster. :wink.gif:

I'm running the 256 pack with the glass mod you have linked when I see the glass issue. The 128 pack I run is AaGeOn's BumpMaft. That one is not going to get updated for 256 now, though so I'm not sure how long I'll hang on to it.
sorry scuttles, if I seem competitive. I'm always concerned about that. But I'm a friggin acrobat! Only here to help, keep up the good work, unless you get tired of working, then go play. I'm messing with 2.0 now.
You said it was your 'work of art' I don't want you to think I'm whitewashing anything you worked on, or suggesting it be done.
This seems very nice and all. Yet, one problem I am having is that when I place blocks they still seem to be blocks? Do you have any fix for this yet? If you fix this I will be happy to give u a quarter :3
The lily pad needs work, I kind of botched it. I don't know about the lotus...
EDIT: repenting to older version of wildgrass.
EDIT2: Just a bit of insight after tooling around with 2.0
When forming the flowing water animation, think about how waves form at the beach. The side of the wave in the direction of motion is acute when compared to the trail of the wave. So, instead of parallell lines that are in line with the motion, try to make flowing water textures with lines perpendicular to the actual direction & don't forget that the front end of the line (the end that is in front, relative to motion) is going to be more compressed, and the tail of the 'wave' is going to slope downware (according to 'gravity') until it reaches the next front end....
AND you should focus on the 256x256. No matter how you stack it, the 256x256 textures can be downsized with a minimal loss in quality, while the lower res files will gain generations if upscaled...
my water explanation is kind of iffy... It simply needs to be stretched width wise. How to do this properly... I don't know yet... I am obsessed with water. cuspity... Um, fishes and buckets aside, the other thing I realize is that the actual shapes on the surface of the water, the lines that represent the current... In reality, these lines don't move at all... It just hit me, but the peaks and valleys are actually the same as rapids, which is to say that they are formed by the interaction of the water with the container and the thing that makes them look like they are in motion is the white bubbles and such that form in their wake... But that is the point... It is the WAKE that everyone keeps trying to animate, but this is completely backwards... The wake is one thing, the flow is another... hmmm... COMPUTING
