However torches look worse, and there are... splotches... on the textures.
I used Sharpen and Remove Noise.
I suspect that Remove Noise caused the splotches.

The splotches are likely from the the one of the two filters as an upscale wouldn't do that.

Haha, actually I found out how to mod a specific texture pack to a specific biome/chunk. Only worked with x16/32 packs, though. FAR too much lag to be playable even then. XD
Anyway, I was going for the "I make this not look like Minecraft anymore" kind of aspect. =)

When i load a world with 256 by 256 my game freezes after simulating world. Yes i do have java 64 bit version and 128 by 128 works perfectly with no lag.

Not enough RAM, or not enough allocated to Java.
Best bet.
Give us the error the game outputs when you crash.
Worst thing is it just stays like that hang on ill try to get a report.
