Yawn. 5 Days just playing with friends... OH AND... PSN is up if you have PS3... since sunday... :biggrin.gif:
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Lol, I was just listening to The Lonely Island when you replied :biggrin.gif:
Anyways, Welcome. Me and some friends were on multiple games, 3 hours on GTA IV, And 5 on COD Black Ops.
I could not see the moons cause I had mist on. i have a new problem. I had the 256x version of this texture pack but I found the 64x version which I'm pretty sure is what I need since I have Java 64x and Windows 7 64x , but with this one I can not even load in to the game no matter what. What do I need to make this work? Am I missing something? I use MCPatcher to get the texture in, is there anything ells I need? I remember seeing something about needing an HD thing on the download screen for this texture pack but I did not click it because I though it was the MCPatcher, is that what I need for the texture pack to work? I really like this texture pack and I really want to use it.
I'm experiencing an odd problem, and it's most likely very simple and I've had a hefty moment of idiocy, but....
The texturepack is working alongside the wildgrass mod fine, the only problem is the textures of the wild grass are the originals and it's very contrasting with the great look of the texturepack. Is there something else I specifically need to download in order to get the enhanced look for the wild grass?
I started out by: Patching, placing the 128x texturepack, then installing modloader alongside the wildgrass mod. Not sure if it's an order of operations thing.

With this info what version of this texture pack is best for me? I want to download all the mods as well maybe. But for sure wild grass. How do I get the up to date version of the MCPatcher? I have the 1.1.12_2 I think.
The versions for the pack don't have a correlation with your operating system. Having a 256bit os would be absurd, least for the time being, everything would take exponentially more amount of space and time to sort through. Anyways, the 256x pack is a 256x256 pixel pack. Meaning each block is about 256x256x256 pixel texture resolution. This is the highest offered by the pack, 128x would be 1/2 that resolution and 64x would be 1/4th that resolution. Generally means the further down you go the more blurry/pixelated it will be.
If you were running 256x fine before, then by all means continue using the 256x pack.
On a side note, nice to know your 2.8 ghz proc is performance rated at 7 ghz. Almost like
DUDE. this pack looks amazing. i love the moon, and most of all the painting form the 2nd edition adnd PH. very nice touch.
i saw amazing water effects in your pictures, and im not seeing them in my version. same with the vegetation. also, i was unable to switch between texture packs inside minecraft after i dropped them into the texture folder. i had to edit my minecraft file manually. is there a way to get around that?
Could I suggest you tweak the rain a little. It looks a bit more realistic than the normal MC one but I was playing on SMP with my friend the other day and I literally couldn't see a thing. The rain was just too heavy for me to do anything. Maybe make it a little lighter next time you update?
i think it means Life Based, correct me if i am wrong on what LB stands for
It stands for Little Beetle, according to Scuttles, but hell, Life Based works too :tongue.gif:
Hmmm... That's not bad. Actually sounds better than what it really is. XD
Phantom is correct. ^^
LB = Little Beetle/Ladybug
The nickname I gave to my girlfriend back when we first started dating.
Life Based makes a hell of a lot more sense, though. Lol

Hey Scuttles great texture pack ! Ive been using it since I first started, but i can't seem to get the WildGrass and WildCaves mod working. Ive read almost every single post about wildgrass/wildcaves and i still cant get it to work. I put the files in minecraft.jar but it still wont work. Help !!
The easiest way to install wildgrass is to use the "client" folder and copy everything into the .jar except the terrain.png.
Wildcaves requires the modloader and requires copying all the files from there except the "wildcaves" folder and then place the proper resolution wildcaves folder inside instead.

I can only play the game for about 10 minutes till it crashes.
Anything I can do about that?
You may need 64bit Java or an increased heap size. What are your specs?

You still need to place the folders from the wildgrass texture download inside. Silly mistake indeed.
You could also just use the "client" folder from the wildgrass mod as it utilizes the wildgrass that I have built into the terrain.png.

Hello there!
Guys! where can i find terrain_nh.png and terrain_s.png for this nice pack?
I want to try this one with GLSL and working bump mapping.
Unfortunately, not available yet. =/
Dufric is working on them currently as they are incompatible with my computer and for now he teases us with that video...

Make sure animated water/lava are check when patching to show them when playing. As for the vegetation, it's a mod called wildgrass.
I've noticed it's been very hit and miss with the texture pack folder. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just does some strange things. Few weeks back my game wouldn't let met use the texture pack folder to load x64 texture packs. No idea why and I reinstalled several times (for different reasons) and when the new HD patcher update came it, it suddenly started working again. >.>
All in all, I really don't have a solution for your manual installation issue. =(

Cheers if you take this advice :happy.gif:
What version of this pack are you using? I changed the rain a while back to be less intensive. My first "draft" of rain was a mess. XD
That is NOT the limit, we can push it further!
Plus, he only used the 256x pack :tongue.gif:
Also, that video didn't show off stuff such as Waving Plants/Wheat/etc. and Bumpmapping :tongue.gif:
Though I should take his advice and get Better Clouds... I, personally, prefer having the view distance set to Normal, so I don't want the double view distance mod.
I feel the fog adds to the feel of the game.
That's just me.

Haha, true enough! So many more limits to be pushed. XD
I'll also agree with you on the viewing distance. Far almost seems to have less of an atmospheric build than the normal setting does.
I really liked your review and the it's a shame that I can't do anything about the cons as that's entirely based of off Minecraft coding changes. The static is a result of the lack of texture filtering for the game and the huge memory demand is that it's rendering many unnecessary things.
Hopefully Notch starts helping out the HD texture packs in the near future. ^^
Good to hear from you again.
What have you been up to for so long?
Things have been going extremely well indeed. ^^
I'm currently working on several alternatives and mod compatibilities in addition to finishing the pack.
