So beautiful why does CJ have crappy computer can't handle awesomeness Creepers laugh at me for this.
P.S. what did you use to create it
Sad day. ='(
I'm working on downscaling everything and create a 64x pack for people with the lower end computers. I've been really busy lately, but those are just excuses. XD
All of these textures were created with Photoshop. I've been using the program for about 7-8 years which should give me a little edge on everyone else. The texture sources either came from google, friends, own pictures (Can't really get good pictures because of the tremendous amount of snow here), and finally other programs.
I would usually take the photographs myself, but I don't feel like driving 200+ miles to get out of area of snow to get decent pictures.
This mod is always crashing me on launching the game?
No wildgrass is installed as i dont want to cramp up my MC folder any more!
What version of the pack are you running? 128 or 256?
It seems to be a little touch and go with these high resolution packs. For some people, installation through the "texture pack" folder works and runs great. For me, on the other hand, installing into the .jar is the only way and the texture pack method crashes my game.
Also, any other mods installed? I could just be an incompatibility issue. A clean installation of the texture pack into a clean .jar (vanilla) is an easy way to get it to work.
256 works great on my home system, Win7-64, 64b Java and a GTX 280 with Wildgrass and Zans 096 version minimap. However it doesn't work on my laptop, WinVista-32, 32b Java and dual 8600M GTs (with or without SLI enabled). I even tried installing just the pack but still no go. It gets to the main menu, sometimes far enough to start loading a world and then I get a Nvidia OpenGL Driver error, Error code 7 stating my system configuration doesn't meet the minimum specifications needed to run the application.
It looks and works great on my home computer, though. I have been using Aageon's Bumpmaft 128 pack and will probably continue to use it while this one is refined (Aageon has stated he doesn't want to do it in 256). I'm not sure yet whether I actually prefer his or whether I'm just too used to that one to decide yet. Time will tell.
The water and lava seem a little odd to me. I like the motion but the texture seems to be too 'thick' looking, if that makes any sense. I'm no graphics expert.

From what I can tell, it seems the laptop isn't quite able to handle the high textures. You could try the 128x128 pack which I'm going to start updating again after a brief break (Too many sleepless nights)
As for the lava and water, they are the most difficult thing in the world. I've spent countless hours just to have it explode in my face and tile terribly or freak out.
In the mean time, the new 256x256 is what will be in the 128 as of right now. It has been the most pleasing water texture and it boggles my mind how the water seems to curve when it's flowing diagonally.
I'm glad you've atleast tried this pack, though. I do understand that this is graphically demanding and, if you want to wait a bit, I'll have a 64x version out there for the lower-end computers.
I'm going to try and make the transition I think. I am a graphic ***** and like to have the latest and highest resolution graphics when afforded the option. I currently have two separate /.minecraft/bin/ folders for the two packs that I alternate between while I'm figuring out which way to go.
I just wish I was knew more about this stuff. If I could incorporate the lava and water from Bumpmaft for now to your 256 pack I'd make the switch without question. I'm learning little-by-little about the patching process so it's not a complete nightmare dealing with them anymore. But since I don't readily work with these sorts of things it's hard for me to mix and match the pieces of different packs together.
I finally got everything up and running... smoothly: shader + 256x256 fix + LB texturepack + BL+BG + zanminimap + wildgrass + runecraft + 64bit java + 16xAF + 32xAA + 8X transparancyAA + far + fancy =
& now... SCREEN-SHOT BOMBARDMENT!!!
Beautiful. @_@
I'll have to add some to the main page. I notice you haven't updated out of the beta 256x256. The new biomes are insane and give an amazing ambient feeling.

wait, what? Bioms? I just downloaded everything and went nuts. Must have missed something. I'm pooped. By the way, the signs... I don't know how you feel about this, I can just change it myself, but I always liked using the signs as a frilly decorative trim. Used it for making beds too. But the black border around the sign in the pack kind of makes it look funny... Which gives me an idea concerning the sign texture & decorative trim/framing... Anyway... these bioms, I must investigate.
Jealous? Haha, you're the one who made the texture pack! None of these pictures would have been possible without you!
I was just showing off to sushimaster.
I wish I could make structures that grand. You had the unfair advantage, by the way, sushimaster was using the old beta version. He must have just missed the new update. XD
In either case, your computers could kick mines ass and then some.
Now it's time to take a small break and then work on refinements, including items.png.
Note: I fixed the damn clay, it was pissing me off. (NOW I can take a break)
Did anyone else notice I had 6-7k people view my pack just today? I'm feeling some pressure. -_-'
Hey, would you mine if I just used most of the previous items from the 128? I know how to digitally enhance/supersample, so there isn't really a big worry on visual quality. I was just wondering if you liked the previous items.
You're always going to have mixed reviews in Minecraft. There is a significant demograph that the simple graphics appeal to and another that have performance issues preventing them from using high res packs. But that's one of the things that makes Minecraft successful is that it appeals overall to many.

I guess you're right. Either way it won't stop me from making this pack as good as possible.
The items are the next on my agenda. Right now I'm supersampling my 128x128 pack items and digitally enhancing them into the 256x256 pack. I think the item template was from KDstudios' pack. Don't worry, better items are on the way. =)
i am loving walking around with this texturepack! sadly that is all i can do though, if I open my inventory minecraft crashes. Could someone just pm me with a link to their .minecraft file? or compile all the mods to one? using them is very confusing as there are 6 diffrent ".jar" files in minecraft's bin file, so when the ladybug guy says to "just put them into the bin jar file" i find myself confused. im dumb i know

You're lucky that is all there is so far. Someone linked your pack in /r/minecraft on reddit and it is still on the front page.

Very mixed reviews in there. XD
