Hey dude,
Just downloaded your pack and everything is working fine EXCEPT texture. Everything is still flat. :sad.gif: can you give me some instruction?
The "bumpmapping" isn't quite finished and you'll have to hold out for a bit longer. =)

Ahhh, Gotcha. Any idea when?
Bump mapping takes quite a time.
Dufric is working on his bump mapping though. For this pack.
Please bear with it, As Scuttles tried to bump map, But it takes a Very long time.
There is no predetermined time. So just bookmark this pack.

This is just utterly AMAZING. I cannot adequately express just how good this texture pack is. You guys are incredible!
This beats even the great Painterly Pack IMO, it's just that good. The 256x pack keeps crashing my Minecraft, however the 128x pack is more than adequate to test my laptop's shitty integrated graphics xD I really hope you guys keep this updated for a while yet =D Thank you so much for creating this truly beautiful masterpiece of a texture pack.

You're quite welcome and I will continue to update this for quite some time. =)
The x256 seems to struggle on many people's laptops. Small difference between the 128 and the 256, though, so your not missing out on much. The only major difference is the items will come off as less pixelated.

No worries, I tricked Scuttles into signing a legal contract which forces him to update the pack until the day he dies.
I also made him sign a contract which doesn't allow him do die until he is over 9000 years old.
Yes, sir...
If I ever do die, the wife already said she'd make a message and send the .psd for all the images. =)
4k+ layers.... =/
Would have been more, but my terrain.png was overwritten a while back if anyone can remember that.

hello i'm still having problems when i try to run your 256 pack i patched minecraft up to a java space of 4000 mb and it still doesnt work
I'm using a 32 bit winxp computer
do you have any ideas why it might not run
sincerely

You can't use 4GB of RAM on x32...
Max is like 3.5GB, and if you allocate all 3.5GB to Java it won't work because there would be no room for the Operating System.
Nigs. Where my biome. XD
You can put that in the pack if you want, Summer autumn.
It's finished. It's actually one of my favorite biomes. Very light and vibrant with the mix of Autumn colors. Excellent choice. =D

As Phantom had said, it's not possible to allocate 4GB of memory to a 32bit system. That could be your issue there.
Also, could you post some additional specs such as your RAM.

Hey, I can seem to get it from the download mirrors. The link just times out. Any advice?
I'd suggest to try it again. I just checked all 4 links and they all worked. I'm going to upgrade my Mediafire link soon. I just hate using my credit card online. =S
when i run the grass mod it uses the standard texture for the wild grass while the rest of the texture pack runs fine. Is there something i have missed because i love the look of the wild grass in the screenshots.
Have you downloaded the "wildgrass" link? You have to replace the images of the wildgrass mod with those ones and it should work fine. I'm assuming you're using the modloader version of wildgrass. Wild grass isn't fully supported with the new MCPatcher's better grass so also make sure you patch it WITHOUT better grass enabled.
First: Congrats on the great work with your texture packs. You have some great ideas.
Second: As to Minecraft running in Javaw. First the obvious.
Minecraft is a game. Java is a platform to run programs in. If the program is not compatible with the way java is set up, or the correct version of java, you get (for us) the Black Screen. (tip don't run 32bit javaw on win 64bit)
After running Minecraft and getting the black screen constantly after about 10 minutes in win7 ult. 32bit, c2d 3ghz with 4gb, I started doing some web research on Java itself. After 2 days I switched to win7 64bit, 4gb because of what I found about how 32bit Javaw (java for windows.) works regarding memory allocation.
It seems 32bit javaw can only use 1.2-1.3 MB of memory on a 32bit windows system, and that is under perfect conditions. Javaw Needs a Contiguous chunk of memory (memory all in one chunk) for it to use its max amount. Windows loads its memory somewhere in the middle of your memory, so you have to be really lucky to have one blank chunk that is 1.2 MB free. So setting the parameters for java to use 2gb of memory in win32 doesn't change javaw's ability to run a higher texture pack. It just ignores the command line where it gives the 2GB instruction. You can try setting the max to 1.2-1.3gb to optimize it, but any more will be ignored. And setting it to less, just means it crashes sooner.
Javaw 64 bit can handle 3GB (some say 4GB) of memory (this is where theory and arguments got over my head, gray area). Now this 3GB is depending on your running 64bit windows, 64bit javaw and again, windows puts its memory where it wants to, not where java needs it to. Javaw still needs a 3GB free chunk of Contiguous memory. Your mileage may vary depend on how much memory you have. 4GB Minimum, more might be better depending on your setup.
My results on my change: Before I switched to 64bit Windows and Java, Minecraft crashed when java hit the 1gb ceiling, every single time.
After the change, I have not crashed 1 single time and if I use a tp over 64x, my memory usage is always over 1GB. I have seen it as high as 2GB.
Minecrafts memory usage climbs the longer your in java, whether your in the game or not, the only way to dump memory from MC is to totally close java and restart MC. So if you switch texture packs, make sure you close Minecraft completely then restart with the new texture pack other wise your memory will continue to climb from where it was with the last texture pack, and if it was a high res pack, you start MC with a great deal of memory already loaded.
All of this info was taken from various forums on Java, Sun, Oracle, etc. A lot more is there, but so much of it is theory on interactions of memory and programs, its hard to follow, at least for me.
I hope this helps, it really helped me, I was about to throw my pc out of the window from all of the Black Screens.
Remember Texture Packs don't crash MC. Improper Java versions, and low memory are your enemy here.
Also if your going to run a high res pack, you may need to upgrade your cpu, I dropped to 20fps with the 256x pack. It wasn't fun, a new chip is on the way!
Anyone with 4GB or more of RAM should definitely have 64-bit Windows and 64-bit Java.
It blows my mind how a lot of computer/laptop manufacturers install 32-bit on their 4GB Machines.
Then they even have the nerve to tell their users NOT to install 64-bit operating systems.
This is definitely one the the better reasons to build your own PC. :wink.gif:

Wait... So it's possible to have specific textures in specific biomes? Such as a palm tree texture growing near desert or beaches?
I'm impressed. =D

I'm not a big fan of glass to the point of having a biome dedicated to it, but certainly is a unique concept.
