Birch leaves and pine leaves have a set color, I looked through notch's code for those.
I guess if you added some regular tree leaf code, add it to birch tree's, change it around a bit, you could probably have working leaves on your birch.
Wanted to post my own take on the glowstone. I wanted something to mesh a bit better with the modern house design I have. I ended up doing a quick edit and felt it appropriate to showcase it here.
EDIT: I have zero intention of releasing any changes I make to this texture pack without direct permission from its entitled owner.

I really want my birch/pine to have a more realistic color to them, but I'll wait till he implements a proper biome.

i am trying to get the Mobs based of an old RTS called Rise Of Nations: Rise Of Legends so here are my ideas:

and if i could get that elder glass dragon to work too i think i would faint, then scream with joy for a week straight!
oh and the Alin have Glass Cannons.... hmmm... possible or not possible for my modding skills?
I may not be able to get around to doing the mobs, but I'll certainly have the glass done soon. I'll modify the reinforced to a little more like that. ;D

Well, i didn't do either, i tried to load texture pack and it just crashed minecraft. Now it wont even let me on BETA. Is there a way i can delete the pack and try to Re-download?

Hold down the windows key and press "R"
In the window that pops up type in %appdata% with the % marks
Open .minecraft folder
Find texture packs folder and delete the pack.
Also, you did patch it with the HD patcher, right?
Sorry for being a little surly yesterday. I was out in the sun all day and got sunburned really bad. Not happy. =/

Some alternative biomes that I'm working on with the next release.
This is just a green biome everyone. Pretty simple.
This is a "summer" biome that has lusher greens than default.
The fall biome was shown a few pages back.

Thanks man. I'll first get 64x, then if that runs with minimal lag, then 128x. Thanks, I'll see what I can do RAM wise, see if I can scrounge up a couple more sticks. I really like realistic packs now, thanks to DokuCraft, which made me like Realistic packs at first. Anyway, thanks. By the way, the sundergaming links don't work, could you post a new one with the updated packs? (I LOVE the new MCPatcher, so much easier to use)

Mobs are way out of my league. I've tried my hand at making some and it's really difficult. I'm working on suit of armor currently and It's taken hours. =S
Still needs tons of work and refinement. I'm making them in 64x64, because the full 256x256 would be exceedingly time consuming.

The PC runs 32x packs fine, with minor lag, which one would you recommend?

but when I view the grass blocks sideways it appears gray

It's a conflict between MCPatcher's BetterGrass and Modloader.

Usually anything with about 3-4GB or more RAM
It's also very dependent on your processor.
