:sad.gif: i'm having issues with this. every time i start the client and log in, it takes longer than usual to get to the Mojang symbol thing, then after a few seconds it freezes and i have to use ctrl alt delete to close the program. i have updated java and my nvidia driver, i also am using the HD patcher and patching it and putting the textures in, specifically the 256x and grass textures one. i can't find the issue with anything unless i'm doing something wrong id appreciate some help. so i have to play the boring version of MC by removing the HD texture packs T_T i SOME how got it to work before but...i couldn't get onto a multiplayer server so i tried fixing it and what not and so it still doesn't work.
i also am using the HD patcher and patching it and putting the textures in, specifically the 256x and grass textures one.
Can you please be more specific by what you mean when you say "putting the textures in"? My spider-sense tells me the issue lies somewhere in that part of the process.

im putting the texture packs in the texture folder in the .minecraft folder unzipped in the texturepacks folder like it says to.
GAH damn my english is crappy today, i mean they ARE zipped when im putting them in the texturepacks folder.
Just take the entire LB.photo.realism.x256.zip and drop that folder in the texture packs folder.
Do not open the folder and zip the files separately or anything. If that's what you're doing, then the problem lies elsewhere.
Back up your saves and any texture packs you wish to use. Then, delete the /bin and /texturepacks folders. Run Minecraft and let it update. Then, close the game, run the latest version of the HD patcher* and then place the .zip in the texturepacks folder.
*Commonly, most issues with crashes on launch are because people use the old patcher. Make sure you are using this one.

ok well i did all that, and now it runs without crashing, ty =D also, could i put in the grass texturepack as well without it doing any harm?
uhhh, uh oh, i tried going onto a server and it froze T_T is the texture pack not good with multiplayer servers? cause i had dokus x32 pack and it worked fine on servers, is something wrong with x256 realistic pack?
Texture packs don't have anything to do with a server - because, remember, all it does is change how things look to you.
It's more likely that the server has not yet been updated to the latest version of the game (you may have been running 1.4 or earlier yourself, which is a possible explanation for the crashes before).

i usually play on the server i tried to log into just then though. ive been on 1.5_01 since the day it came out and so has that server so :/ oh and it broke again, it froze T_T i cant get to the menu again >.<

Nice vid. It does still need a bit of tweaking, but that was the leas memory intensive texture I could make. =)

I LOVE the new glass, it has so much more character. I use LOTS of glass, so this was probably one of the best updates to date for my world.
-pic-
I preferred the old smooth stone personally b/c it didn't "pattern", but the new stuff isn't bad. It will proly grow on me, since it *does* go much better with cobblestone. Here's an action shot with new stone around the outside of my monster death chamber.
Thanks, I personally love the new glass as well.
I will be posting an "alternates" .png with all my old or rejected textures soon enough so people can mix and match if they want to.

Hey everyone! Wanted to say I've been using this pack for coming up on a few days. Loving it drastically and wanted to post my house I built and show off the fantastic quality this pack has to offer.
The screenshots are images using the 256x pack with GLSL Mod for Field of View, and AA.
Video Settings:
Fancy, Far, 16xAA, VSync, 1920x1200
General overview of the house -amazing pics-
A suggestion for your change log, it would be nice to see the date each version is released. Helps further organize and assists people like me who go by date first, then version. Granted they both work in the same numerical way but what's a few extra keystrokes to help a few extra people?
Oddly enough, I did try to go by date one day, but I always forgot seemed to forget. I'll try to remember. ;D

I love the new stone.
Thanks, it feels more "natural" which was what I want in this pack.

Glad I could be of some help to people. Love the pack, if you need any help with anything ask me; I am super experienced in photoshop and web design. :wink.gif:.
Will do, I'll PM if I ever need help or questions.
I may need you after I complete this pack. =D

I'm sorry to say that i dont really like the new stone,
also the glass should just have a little more space to look trough
Anyway
Great job on making this tp, really love it
Fair enough, I will be posting a .png with all of the alternate and failed textures that were never in the pack to please more people. =)
But thanks, I've changed the glass a bit to leave it more "open"

the new glass is ok,
its more stylish than the older one, wich i can understand some may not like.
but its not smooth enough, it has some little problem with edges.
but now im wondering something.
i take a look at the terrain.png and i see those edges are fine, there are shades between the iron and the glass
but in game i dont see any shading, its just iron and glass, its like the transparency got no shading. Is this normal ?
hope what im saying is clear enough, if not im gona post screenshots
Hmmm... I see what you are talking about. I'll try to clean it up a bit and make see if that helps.

nice update, liked new glass, a bit overtextured, but better that near invisible one from before, but now with the new stone texture coal is very hard to distinguish in deep dark mines.
Indeed, the old glass was far too hard to see in the menus and this one adds a bit of class.
Maybe because I was used to it, but I found coal to be fairly easy to spot. =\

For some reason I keep crashing when I switch to 256x256, 128x128 works fine though.
No idea what the issue is, I did everything exactly as mentioned, reinstalled MC to try to see if that's the issue, updated Java etc.
I also tried to change the heap size in the patcher, enabling/disabling the cache, nothing worked. what could it be?
I'm sure the pc supports it
What are your specs? It's good that you have atleast the x128 working. ^^
Quote from Hezron »
I have download 64-bit Java already, 128x128 works but when I try to change the heap size it gives me the same error as my previous post. :l
Hmmm... you shouldn't have to change the heap size at all if you have 64bit Java anyway. Do you have 32 and 64bit java installed? It may be a conflict that is running it off 32bit still.
If you're on a 64 bit OS then you technically have 2GBs of memory towards the game. Of which any background programs are also consuming those 2GBs. You simply may not have enough memory for the game to cache into. [ I believe this is correct but may be wrong ]
EDIT: Okay, I just tested to see how much memory Minecraft required at 256x. It's 1.6GBs of memory. So your memory is definitely keeping you from using it. I went from 2.66GB idle to 4.25. So check your idle memory usage then add 1.6 to that number. If it exceeds 4, then we've concluded that to be the problem.

@DGVictus: That house is GORGEOUS! I hope you will post it in the Aesthetically Pleasing Modern Homesthread as well.

Place the entire .zip file in the texture packs folder - you don't have to open it.

As for wildgrass, I'd recommend asking about it in their thread.
It's more likely that the server has not yet been updated to the latest version of the game (you may have been running 1.4 or earlier yourself, which is a possible explanation for the crashes before).

Try using the 128x pack instead - you won't need to reinstall anything, just drop it into the texturepacks folder and select it in the menu.
I think that should do the trick.
awww okees lol, thought i would be able to run it like i did a short while before since i have an nvidia geforce GTS 450
Didn't realize there was one. I will get right on that.
