A: It's not as hard as you make it out to be.
B: There are already tutorials on how to install texture packs on this forum - this pack is no different.
You just have to look a bit more carefully and read thoroughly, and you will be fine.

HERE is how to fix the black screen problem. After a little bit of reading and google and stuff like that I fixed my 256 crashing error.
ONLY DO THESE STEPS IF YOU ARE ON A 64 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM!!!
1. Version of java.
1a. By default windows 7 64 bit auto downloads java 32 bit. Why? Because browsers run in 32 bit and most java applications are web applications, thus the 32 bit default.
2a. To resolve this issue go to HERE and choose the 64 bit for your respective operating system. Install, rejoice, eat cake.
2. Now! For the easy stuff. Download the HD texture patcher that is linked in the first page of this thread.
2a. inside the HD Patcher go to the Options tab. Find the area under "General options" that says "Java Heap Size (MB)" Change this field from "1024" (What mine was defaulted to) To "2048" (exactly double) and patch your minecraft.
3. ?????
3a. ????????
4. Profit!
OP, Please add this under your x256 version of this texture pack. I would give you a medal and a
This link doesn't work, which I find funny because it worked for me once already.
Wildgrass: http://adf.ly/1JzA7
This is a download link that is compatible with the modloader version of wildgrass. I'm not sure if I'll ever include into the actual downloads since it is just more to download. Anyway, enjoy!
Also, I don't quite understand what you mean by these instructions...
Optional installs:
Wild grass by ejhopkins is part of the mod and will work with the current version as of now. Just copy all of the files EXCEPT the terrain.png
Fantastic work! I saw the house in a demo shot of this pack and love it. I'm stealing a few ideas from it and will be expanding upon them. Some bits need work of which you already know and so I can't wait until they're fixed. Once all is perfected, I'll be more than happy to donate!
I love this texture pack. So far no problems for running it or anything. The only thing I don't really like is the texture for soul sand but everything else makes it easily over looked since I don't use it that often. However amazing work all around and keep up the good work. (also the textures for wolves are completely adorable.)
256x256 version doesn't work at all, it just crashes my game.
Patched with v2 of MCPatcher, tried both links.
OSX 10.6.7
I can't download a different Java. Apple includes it themselves.
Please fix it. :smile.gif:
I'm sure we'd all love to help you get it woreking, but it's not a matter of "fixing" the texture pack.
A texture pack only changes the way the game looks, not the way it works.
So, if you cannot get it to run, the only possible explanations are user error, improper installation, mod conflicts, or other software conflicts.
If you cannot update Java, I think you need to be asking Apple to "fix it". Weren't they supposed to be the ones who made computing easier and more reliable for people who didn't want to use WinTel boxes?

The pumkin face has a fail in terrain.png. Please fix it.
I just wanted to say thanks for making a proper comment and not asking stupid questions that have nothing to do with the texture pack!
Scuttles, we have a legit request here, get on it! (not sure what's wrong with the pumpkin face though, haven't really looked at pumpkins much in-game)
Assuming the Aether mod is coming out soon, will you make textures for it? Please..!
Well, actually, yes. I'm going to be building many textures along with the Aether mod. I've messaged the mod creator and I'm hoping for a reply so he can send me a .png will all of the textures so when it is released, I'll have it ready much quicker.

I used to be able to work with 256 textures now when i apply any 256 minecraft just crashes. Wtf is going on, i've updated java and all that jazz, is there any way to fix this issue?
I was actually messing around with methods this morning and realized the old "manual" installation still works. I'd try extracting the texture pack and dragging it all into the .jar inside the bin folder. This should allow it to work again. If not, just reinstall and hope for the best. =(

Why do some of the textures look "sparkly" when moving? Kinda hard to explain but i can make a video if needed.
That's Minecraft's lack of texture filtering. Unfortunately, it looks like Notch has no intentions of ever implementing one.

I'll have to go see it in-game to see if something actually is wrong.

Oh, how do I not notice that XD
a few more questions:
I used to be able to work with 256 textures now when i apply any 256 minecraft just crashes. Wtf is going on, i've updated java and all that jazz, is there any way to fix this issue?
I have the same problem.
If i place the .zip file in the texturepack folder, then patch the game, minecraft wont start at all.
Or, it start, then if i go to change texturepacks, minecraft just freeze and wont start again.
Only way to fix it is to delete the whole .minecraft folder. Deleteing bin and force update dosent work.

I've answered his question to the best I can, but have you guys tried 64bit Java if you have a 64bit OS?

So, Scuttles, I have to ask.
How did you go about finding real photos of Soul Sand and Nether Rack?
You must have been very naughty, died, happened to have a camera, and then got revived by the ambulance.
Yep.

I'm not entirely sure about those mods. You could try them out one by one and see how many can work at the same time.
The grass blocks were part a mod called "better grass" and I believe if you look up "betterER grass" it was suppose to be a continuation of it.
I don't recommend the GLSL shaders because I'm very inexperienced with them and won't be able to help you. XD
