Every time I try and download these files the download stops at 3-10mb. Is there any chance you could put a new mirror up for the highest reso one?
Thanks, and looking great!
No, if neither mirror works there is no point in adding a new one because anything else will give you the same problem.
However the first links work fine for me in both Google Chrome AND Firefox 4.
I have experienced the problem you describe with Firefox 4, but when I restarted Firefox and tried again it worked.
VM Arguments:
jvm_args: -Djava.library.path=C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\natives -Xmx1024M -Xms512M
My next bet would be this being the issue...
Pretty sure this ignores the java heap size, set Xmx to 1536 and Xms to 768 in whatever you are using to launch the game.
Then again this is probably just MCPatcher forcing it to this, so I'm quite confused...
Launching C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
java -cp C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/minecraft.jar;C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/lwjgl.jar;C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/lwjgl_util.jar;C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin/jinput.jar; -Djava.library.path=C:\Users\Stevy\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\natives -Xmx1536M -Xms512M net.minecraft.client.Minecraft
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Minecraft exited with status 1
Launch it without MCPatcher, and set -Xms512M to 768.
Not gonna lie, im not buying another OS to play minecraft with one specific texture..
Then you're kind of stuck. Some systems (like mine) even have problems playing Minecraft on default/fancy/far with 32-bit Java. Windows XP is a great OS but it's just far behind the times at this point. This is going to become the case even more as time goes on.
Not sure.
I have it set to
But it works fine for me without increasing heap size, so I can't tell ya for sure.
Experiment.
Uh, uninstall it in Control Panel or use something like CCLEANER.
Then use Driversweeper afterwards.

Just edit the heap in java, and launch it through the console so you can copy the error if it's still there.

32 Bit can only hold like 2 GB :s
64 Bit can go up to 16GB depending on how good it is.
32 Bit holds between 3.25 and 3.5GB, 64Bit can hold up to 192GB.
MC requires anywhere from 1GB to 2GB of RAM for 256x texture packs.
You only have about 3GB of RAM.
And how much of that RAM is already in use by the Operating System and running applications?
That is where your problem lies.
