ahh right i was just listing evrything i had noticed and thought!
Yeah, I'm sure he appreciates your feedback. And all of these bumps.
I do appreciate the feedback and the bumps are always welcoming. ^^
Keeps my thread from ever leaving the first page which, interestingly enough, I don't remember if it ever has left the front page. Good work everyone.
In all seriousness I did address some of the issues, but you're like me and don't feel like reading through several pages to see if any of the issues are being addressed.
"Reason for that error was because of an attempt to patch over an existing texture pack. Having a clean install of the game before patching will fix this."
that fixed it :biggrin.gif: thanks for great texture pack!

Yeah the wood blocks half slither at the bottom thats what im talking about. The effect on the stone is good i just had a hard time looking for resources. Its a shame that they didnt make a unique block for desert terrain. Glad to help Bump lol
Oh ok, that's good because I fixed that just moments ago. The next update will have that remedied.
Loving this Texture pack. Just running the 128 but it feels like a new game.
My friend had been complaining and refused to buy the game because of the graphics... Showed him this and he went straight home to buy.
Thankyou.
Glad I could help him make a decision. :wink.gif:

Hey, I'm liking the pack, but I'm having real issues mining in this game now. All the ores are near indistinguishable, and unlike vanilla minecraft when it gets a little dark, you really really can't see what's going on. Is there a way to A: Make the ores as noticeable or more noticeable than vanilla? and B: make it possible to see what you're doing without having to plant 3 torches in a 12x3x3 cavern?
I do appreciate the effort placed, it's just so much harder to see now. If there's some form of java fix, I'd need steps on how to do it (like altering gamma or something), since I have no experience working with java code whatsoever.
Thanks
The darkness and minerals are being addressed with the next update. It's going to make them a little more noticeable and cave exploration won't be as terrifying. (I'm keeping my darkness because I love shitting myself with the sound of creepers nearby)
I love the darkness, makes it more realistic :smile.gif:
also will come in handy when or if new bloom shader comes out.
thanks scuttles
on a side not the new 256 woodplanks looks old and rotten while the 128 ones looked like new layed indoors wood :smile.gif:
The darkness version will always be my favorite. (Snatches Diamond) ^^
The wood has been slightly modified, but I'm thinking I'll just use an entire different texture in future updates.
Update coming in a few minutes. I had absolutely nothing to do today so I worked on this thing for hours.
P.S.
I implemented a new water texture instead of using minecraft enhanced's water. The same method I used for the lava was modified and gave it a semi-ripple effect. Hope you enjoy.

The water, while it looks better, has a bit too much "rippling". It kind of looks like it's boiling. Also, the biomes seem to have a weird problem and the grass is one color on the top and another on the side.
Not quite sure what is going on, but the pack runs, nice and smooth at 60 fps, yet apparently the textures hog up alot of memory. runs great for 25 seconds, then Black screen CTD, how do you increase the memory allocated to the client? 6 gigs of ram available, and a shotty dual core running at 2.33 ghz.(yes, it is crap, but i dont think it is the cause, as it runs great for a set amout, until the memory is overloaded(client wise)
Well, this is what I've been looking for. Most people I introduce MC to go: "Why are the graphics so shitty..." but this pack makes me want to show them again, with it applied.
Sadly, I am unable to get it working. I have followed the instructions, 3 times now, and I guess I'm just gonna have to call it quits and go put on my safety helmet. Anyways, if you could help me with the installation process and walk me through like I'm a complete dumbass, I would appreciate it greatly. And to think I'm going to school for PC support, I feel so ashamed. If you don't have time, I understand, I just want to play with this graphics.
the stillwater looks like it is boiling to me, but the texture itself is nice,
moving water is good, but the stillwater looks hot,
the woodplanks are better now.
tips for stillwater look at the water in unreal tournament 1
Beautiful program, btw.
I'll have to seamless it frame by frame, but it should do very nicely.

What exactly is the problem?
Are you trying to run this pack directly from the texture pack folder, or did you put it directly into the .jar?
Note: x256 doesn't work when inside the texture pack folder, game overloads. -_-'

scuttles seeing the woodplank in the 128 pack is normal color is it supposed to be grey in the 256 pack?
Yea, I think I'm heading back to the 128x128 wood texture if I can find it on this computer. :wink.gif:

If you're running on a 64 operating system, try downloading 64 bit java. This has helped a few people.

I actually prefer the 128x128 version, although the 256x256 looks nice up close, when you're just moving around the map everything looks a bit... Odd, a bit grainy and such I'm not sure.
Got the 128x128 up with BG+BL Wilgrass and the window tint now, pretty nice :smile.gif:.
Took a screeny.
Keep up good work ^^.
Don't worry, after maybe one more update on the 256x256, I'll be heading back to the 128x128 for final touches and maybe finish the gui. xD
Very nice screenshot and I will continue to keep up good work, so they say.
You are awesome. I forgot the name of the type of animation, but it is a few posts up from this one. I figure the best way do water would be to use that animation around the edges of the texture and to animate the bulk of the texture with the actual water surface texture layered with the depth dexture... I can explain more if you don't follow me. Anyway, good work on all this. Now I am trying to get it all running in 64bit mode so I don't get the out of memory errors anymore.

I think I'm following you. Are you saying I should do dual layer water surface with the animation as the sub-surface?

Wait wuuutt? lol i have it in texturepack folder , i din't put 256 in the jar file and it works fine. o.O ?
Interesting. I've tried on 3 computers (One with 8 gigs of ram and a ridiculous NVIDIA card) but all have had crashes with that method. Again, I may be doing something wrong, but I always install directly into the. jar
I tried both, opening the jar with winrar, pasting files, overwriting, resealing. I only got the pack to work after I just put it into the texture folder, I was curious to see if it would work, and it did. That was after I posted. I still have issues with getting MC to like the wild grass mod. I'm not sure whether it's me that is the problem, but I assure you I tried to follow your directions thoroughly thrice lol. All I know is it likes to stall on the its update phase. This is what I did:
1. Patch MC to 128 with the first patcher.
2. I was using the second patcher to get better grass, lighting. I did this second.
3. I unzipped MC's jar file, pasted the mod files in their appropriate folders (just in the bin folder, inside the unzipped MC jar, etc.)
4. Tried to play, and failed 3x.
Now normally I would get it right and exclaim "GREAT SUCCESS!" like Borat, but I failed so no success for me.

Well, dumb question, but did you download the 256x256 texture pack or was it the 128x128 one? I haven't looked at my instructions lately I'll fix it if it only states 128 as the patcher
hey this looks really nice , but one thing how come i have the same diamond and iron ? please if you took it from my texture pack put my name i got it off google , did you use google?

Well, that's interesting because the iron I used was just tinted gravel that was altered and color dodged. As for the diamond, I found a sapphire in google then distorted the color and added transparencies. I can assure you, these are original minerals that I had created.
EDIT:
I see what you're saying now, my mistake. I used those textures from a pack called dasmatrix 128x128 that I stumbled upon by mistake. Truth be told, I haven't got around to changing those texture yet and I plan to do so.
I left my original post to show my confusion at first. :wink.gif:

Yea, it's a big let down, but that program that was posted earlier is really helping the water move along. ^^
