Hey, I'm getting an odd error when I try to apply your 256x256 texture pack on Windows 7. It worked well two nights ago, then the next morning it started to crash immediately after the Mojang splash screen and before the main menu comes up. I've tried everything I can think of short of completely uninstalling/reinstalling Minecraft to fix it. I downloaded the updates that came out yesterday of the HD patcher and today of the texture pack, but it continues to do the same thing. When I try to test it in the HD patcher, it crashes and the log says,

This is the error I get, It works if I test it from the patcher once, but not from shortcut.
That tends to be from running out of memory, so just increase your Java Heap size.
However, this worries me.

Yeah, I don't know what that's about. I'm just running Win 7 Ultimate x86. How much should I increase the Java Heap size? At 1450 MB it's still crashing, and it keeps telling me it can't allocate above 1500 MB. :/
EDIT: I meant, mine was doing the same thing saying it didn't know what version of Windows it was earlier, but I deleted that record to save space when posting it.
This was the first time I ever tried a 'HD' pack. I dunno if it's just me (maybe I did something wrong), but all I can see are millions and millions of pixels scattered around, which is very confusing and disorienting to me. Each time I move my camera in minecraft the pixels just seem to be ''flickering'' or something. I dont have this problem with smaller resolution packs, so guess I'm back to those. (Overall it's a nice texture pack, but not for me.)

1st your texture pack looks awesome, and I really like it so far.
I'm having an issue which I'm not quite sure about. I downloaded the x256 one and used the new patcher on a fresh install of minecraft. When I install it the 1st time it will work, but If I restart minecraft it will not. Mainly it seems the only way I can run it is if I patch it, run the test minecraft in the patcher, I can play it. however after that I have to unpatch and repatch it. D:
I also allocated 2000m for java hoping that would do it. I have been in game and it does work, but thats only through the patcher.
Also can I join multiplayer servers or is that impossible?
last but not least do I just install wildgrass then use your wildgrass folder you provide to change it?
Someone else had this issue a while ago and I'm not sure that it was ever resolved. It seems to certainly be a Java error or something wrong with the patcher not quite doing something right. I'm sorry, I have no real answer. =(

Hey, I'm getting an odd error when I try to apply your 256x256 texture pack on Windows 7. It worked well two nights ago, then the next morning it started to crash immediately after the Mojang splash screen and before the main menu comes up. I really wanna figure this out. It seems to be some problem with the OpenGL buffer, but I haven't the slightest clue what I could do to fix it. :sad.gif: I really love your pack, and I want to get this fixed so I can keep using it. :3
I personally would attempt a fresh install and see if that fixes it. It is quite an odd error and I'll look into it.

The water splashes in 4.0.8 are the same as 4.0.0. ;D

Can you change the itens appearence in the GUI ( like inventory) or they will allways look as the actually block? Because most of the times is really hard to distinguish Stone from Cobble for example. I think at the inventory stuff dont need to look great, or totally realistic, and a bit more practical.

I'll need some more information about your computer. Post some specs please. This could potentially happen for a variety of reasons. The usual case it the computer either doesn't have enough RAM for this (Usually anything above 3GB will do) or they are on a 64bit computer with 32bit Java installed. Installing 64bit Java resolves this issue as well as reallocating memory to Java if you have a 32bit system.

Click 'Test Minecraft' in MCPatcher and give us the error it gives you when the game closes.
Sounds to me like not enough RAM, or just not enough RAM allocated to Java.
That causes a majority of all TP issues.

That tends to be from running out of memory, so just increase your Java Heap size.

Yeah, I don't know what that's about. I'm just running Win 7 Ultimate x86. How much should I increase the Java Heap size? At 1450 MB it's still crashing, and it keeps telling me it can't allocate above 1500 MB. :/
EDIT: I meant, mine was doing the same thing saying it didn't know what version of Windows it was earlier, but I deleted that record to save space when posting it.

That might be just because of the low resolution of the minecraft screen. It might be fixed if you expanded the window to full screen. :smile.gif:

Someone else had this issue a while ago and I'm not sure that it was ever resolved. It seems to certainly be a Java error or something wrong with the patcher not quite doing something right. I'm sorry, I have no real answer. =(
Doesn't' look like your using the HD patcher with that report. The game isn't recognizing the textures. =S

I personally would attempt a fresh install and see if that fixes it. It is quite an odd error and I'll look into it.
That's odd. Do the ghasts have a unique fireball texture that I'm unaware of?
The water splashes in 4.0.8 are the same as 4.0.0. ;D

That should have been resolved with the 4.0.8 update released last night (EST). If you have the update already, what resolution has it. I may have missed one. =\

Yea, GUI can't be changed without modding/coding changes, unfortunately.
I've downloaded 1 of each of the packs yesterday and 1 of each this morning. I can assure you, the links are not dead.
I will note that Adfly did go down for like 8-10 hours the night before (EST) from like 1:00 - 10:00 area.
I'll need some more information about your computer. Post some specs please. This could potentially happen for a variety of reasons. The usual case it the computer either doesn't have enough RAM for this (Usually anything above 3GB will do) or they are on a 64bit computer with 32bit Java installed. Installing 64bit Java resolves this issue as well as reallocating memory to Java if you have a 32bit system.

Click 'Test Minecraft' in MCPatcher and give us the error it gives you when the game closes.
Sounds to me like not enough RAM, or just not enough RAM allocated to Java.
That causes a majority of all TP issues.
