I am the type of guy that tried everything I can before I ask for help. Anways, I have changed minecraft texture before but for some reason I can't get this to work.
I am currently trying to patch my minecraft into 256 HD texture pack.
I read that I need the beta patcher because the old one crashes the game, cool.
I patch my minecraft (jar) using the beta patcher, move the ZIP file (256 textures) into the texture folder.
I run minecraft, go to mods and textures pack, 256 pack is greyed out... I click it and the client crashes within a couple of seconds.
I then open minecraft again, but when I login and I see the "logo screen" my client crashes again.
No matter what I try, the client crashes. I had a friend of mine patch his jar file with the 256 textures and it works for him, he was playing single player for a while to see if it crashes, it didn't.
He gave me his jar file (almost 50mb in size) I replace it with my jar file, still crashes.
I tried removing the entire .minecraft folder, let it download everything... still same crash.
Someone please help me out.
Last thing I can think of is trying 64bit java if you have a 64bit system or try one of the lower resolutions.

I just wanted to thank the creator of this texture pack for all his hard work and dedication in keeping it alive with each update.
I espessially like the cobblestone texture. I've been through may texture packs and none that I've seen can make cobblestone look good.
Thanks. =D

Think you missed my previous post Scuttles, but I'll tl;dr it here (also added a few things I noticed):
- Nether looks average compared to the rest of the pack (with the exception of glowstone), any changes planned?
- Netherrack has very obvious tiling.
- Netherrack could look better, give it some more unique form or something. Too messy/rough as it is imo, maybe soften it a little as it is a weak material?
- Same goes for Soul Sand, could look more haunted or something, looks like dark brown sand as it is.
- Getting big fps drops with weather (from 100+ to something like 30-40), dunno if it can be affected though.
- Rest of the pack: awesome sauce. :tongue.gif:
- Oh yeah, and could the yellow flowers be tweaked in the same way as you changed the red roses? I think it'd look better if it looked less like a bush with bigger, more noticeable lavenders.
Interesting. I haven't touch the Nether in ages. Might be about time for a change. XD
Yea, Fps drops during the weather conditions are simply from the game rendering far too many.

Okay I've posted mine twice now, and I've gotten no reply. So I'm assuming that I have done something stupidly wrong. But I really don't think I have. I have tried out other packs. Misa's and Bordercraft, so 64x64 works and 128x128 works. MCPatcher works. it's the newest version. I was running 1.5 for this pack and it still didn't work. It looks great and I hope someone replys to me this time.
Sorry, I haven't been here the past 2 days and if I skipped over it earlier it's because I had like 50-60 posts to answer and I just don't have the time anymore. =(
What I have noticed is that you aren't actually running on an updated version of Java. You are several versions behind. This could be one of the issues. Try uninstalling Java completely before reinstalling.
I can't remember if you have a 64bit system, but 64bit Java might be in your best interest as well.
I got that. Not really sure what im supposed to do here. Your pack is So awsome to not use in The best resolution. I am running Windows 7 (64) on a pretty decent machine. I require assistance!

I think you have to click that Java for 64bit IE and that takes you to the link you want. It's a confusing as hell process that adds about 400 more words and 3 links when all they needed was a simple link. =S

Eh, screw it. Just download this. It's pretty straight-forward and doesn't have you jumping through hoops to get a program: http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre_64/

The Easy Button.
Huh. That was easy.
Well if a screenshot's size is 1 mb, it passes. OH WAIT! It is. Your pack is so wonderful. I don't even mind the very small lag spikes. (VERY small)
Here it is:
Thanks! That's probably the most support I've gotten before.
For some reason, I got this.
