Attempting to install this killed my minecraft. I cannot launch anymore without getting a Java error. The moment it appeared as an option on the texture pack screen, MC crashed and hasn't worked since.
Anyone? Please?
I would like to be able to play the game. Is there any way to uninstall texture packs without opening minecraft?

yes go to ur .minecraft folder and theres a folder called texture packs delete the zip inside there or did you add ti straight to ur minecraft.jar?
So, after looking at the poll results, it's pretty conclusive that I will be doing a 256x256 texture pack. Here's a bit of a taste of what it will look like. Don't worry, I'm currently working on custom grass which is really coming along right now. :wink.gif:

I really have no idea. I dragged the .zip into the folder that it said to drag it into on the texture packs option on the MC menu. I checked Appdata - There's no .minecraft folder.

Nevermind. Found it thanks to the help of someone in Discussion and just removed the pack.

Is this the 256x256 everyone is having issues with?
The only current way I have mine installed was via the direct route to the .jar
It may be the size is just overloading the game for the texture pack approach, I'll look into it. Everybody hold tight. :wink.gif:
EDIT:
Yea, I did a fresh install of the game and used the texture pack method. The game is phyiscally overloading to the result of a crash. This is a sad day to know that the only way to get the 256x256 to work (properly), you either have to have java x64 (Someone confirm this) or do a manual install directly into the .jar in the bin folder.
hey I'm gonna promote your texture pack on my blog ok? just to spite on the people that say minecraft graphics suck (which with your help can really turn things around)
Can't seem to get your pack working with Better Light+Grass.
What am I doing wrong?
I downloaded your pack, the 128x128 one. Use the patcher to patch your texture pack onto it, that all works.
Then when I try to use the MrMods patcher to apply better light+grass, it won't work once I've patched your textures in.
Do I have to do something else to make it be able to read your textures? Like put some of your texture stuff in a certain place or what?
Want this to work :sad.gif:.
Hopefully I can clear off a few possibilities to the problem:
1. Is it a clean install when you did the patching. Though this isnt required, it does seem to have it moments of being a thorn in ones side
2. Did you put the .zip of the pack in the texture packs folder in .minecraft? Even though it's selected through the hd patcher, you have to manually select it in game as well. (As far as I know)
3. Mrmmods likes to be a pain once it has a single improper install. If you had it set to a previous hd pack before, for some reason I have trouble switching the mod because it says it's already installed, thus crashes everything.
Now that I got those out of the way, what is the exact error popping up? Is it stuck at the black screen or is minecraft itself crashing?

First, thanks for this pack. It looks great.
I had no trouble installing this with Mr.Patcher.
But theres something I would like to ask for:
The first time I started the game after installing your pack, I was standing in front of my little castle, made of stone, and got a slight shock. It was practically pitch black, even during daytime. Now it looks like a place where even the baddies are scared to go...The texture is way too dark for my taste. Is it possible to light it up to the same level as the stone slaps are ?
I guess otherwise, I have to rebuild everything to cobbelstone (which is amazing, by the way)
Which pack are you talking about because the many of the textures are completely different between the 128 and the 256. I do realize that the stones are dark which was geared towards realistic look, but when I get back home I'll be able to make a more satisfying texture.
Thanks again everyone for their ongoing support. I'll be home tonight so I may be able to release some hotfixes. ^^

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. 1) Yes I don't use many mods really I simply want your pack, MrMods, and wildgrass and that will do me :tongue.gif: - so yes I've wiped it all to start from scratch plenty of times.
2) All I'd done was patch it with patcher, and it worked fine alone as a texture pack. Hadn't actually tried putting it in the texture pack folder because I don't see what that changes, it's the combination of MrMods+Texture Pack that I can't get working. However I just tried it now, and it crashed my Minecraft.exe - and now I cannot open Minecraft.exe at all with your texture pack in the folder. I get this error:

As soon as I removed your pack from the folder, it works fine again. Hmm :sad.gif:.
3) I've never used MrMods with a Texture pack, could well just be me being stupid. I saw something about overlay.png and mmcolors.png being changed or something? Do I have to replace them with yours or something? I'm really not sure.
Everything works fine seperately yet heres what happens when I patch your texture pack (so I can play normally with your pack) then attempt to patch the MrMods on top:

Haha, well the first crash is because minecraft can't physically handle my 256x256 pack when it's in .zip form for some reason. I may be the actual size was never programed to be forced into the interface all at once.
Anyway, the second issue seems to be, from what I read in the error report, is that maybe you installed wildgrass before MrMMods. The .bt class that is used in wildgrass will overwrite the vanilla .bt class file. Since the original is needed in MrMMods patcher, this may be the issue.
The rest of the patcher results seems to be normal so that's the only reason I can conjure up at the moment.
HOPEFULLY, this helps you to be able to run the texture pack with all the mods you want. Which, in my experience, all of those mods should work.
1. HD texture pack fix
2. Mrmmods
3. Wild grass
4. Manual install of pack
News (256) : well i played with this texture and i can say it's very nice (except gravel.) . Well i really like the new wood texture (awesome) , but i don't really like the obsidian texture ...i want it more darky, realistic, creppy(lol),future style(?) , i don't know :happy.gif: , when i saw it , i din't like it so much. (btw: gravel sucks rofl). Keep up the good work (really)

Gravel is a well known issue that has been addressed with the new update which won't be available till I get home. (the connection speed isn't so hot here)
I'm debating on which gravel texture to actually use. Would you like something like the old 128x128 or do you want a more "stony" feel to it. I have 4 textures that I'm going back and forth to, but, again, the speed isn't so good here and uploading pictures would be a bad idea.
Well , in the first place i don't like this thing : stone, gravel, cobblestone, etc to look similar ( in close-up is different i know) that's the thing i din't like in 128. The gravel hmm...i would prefer to wait to see some pictures of the gravel when you get home ^^ (my opinion) . Btw : the lava is niceee o.0 xD
Edit : if i think about it better , the gravel IS good ! i mean it's like some sand with rocks ...like in real life . I don't get it , why must all flame something good ? hmm.. ( but if something can be better , make it , buhaha ) xD

The 256x256 texture pack slows down Minecraft too much. Even if it is a "Beta", the texture pack makes Minecraft unusable. Also, going into water crashes the game. While I like the looks (see below), you need to either list it as "slows down the game to a nearly unusable or completely unusable state" or remove the download altogether.
As for how the texture pack looks, I think it is one of the top texture packs in the entire forum. I think the only other major contender with this pack is "Sanguine". Still, the water looks bland and would be much better off similar to this. I also think that, while it does look realistic compared to the competition, it would probably (at least, in my opinion) be better off looking brighter than it does now.
I hope that you find my constructive criticism useful, congratulations on your successful texture pack.
Just a quick update-screenshot. This is one of our houses on our server, and I definitely enjoy this pack, since it combines a lot of great texture packs (especially Aageon's).
Although, the only negative me and my friend have found in this pack: the wool is bad. Long story short, it doesn't look like wool. Me and my friend say: USE BUMPMAFT'S WOOL!
Other than that, pack looks great. Keep it up!

I really enjoy people showing screens of my texture pack in action, so thanks and its quite a nice house.
I do realize that the wool that I used was just in a quick hurry and I've yet to get around to it. I think it was Aza's arid pack or something. Thanks for your opinion and I'll get to the wool eventually.

The 256x256 texture pack isn't for everybody and that's why I kept the old 128x128 out there. I will continue to work on and revamp both texture packs for as long as I can. I may suggest that your computer could be the issue because I'm currently running teh 256x256 flawlessly with about 40-50 fps. (I have an alright laptop)
The water has given my a really hard time because I'm trying to create an animated water and after about 6-7 failed attempts I'm letting myself cool off and work on it later. The darkness is a well known issue that I've been working on for quite some time. I'm trying to get the balance between realism and playable during night.

The current gravel is pretty nice when it comes to realism within the cave itself, but after playing for some time and analyzing the worlds I realized that when there is fields of gravel (for some reason?!?!?) it becomes obnoxious and hurts the eyes. >.>
I'll upload some pics in a bit. Just got home and I'm craving some green tea
