I beg you history don't make this texture even look like fallout!
I'm tired of the fallout fanboys who needs a fallout texture pack and this one comes the closest so they want to make the one look more like it.
Fallout is awesome!
Fallout = Awesome
Fallout 2 = Epic
Fallout 3 = Bad story, good gameplay
Fallout New Vegas= Very good gameplay, good story
But remember the pack was not called Fallout!
So no offense fallout fans i love it too, but hold it to your self!
Good job with the pack History i love it!
Agreement!
The problem is that in borlerlands you can't make your own character..
The gameplay and the story is though better, but Borderlands can't compete Fallout 2 anyway :smile.gif:
Fallout 2 has the best story and don't even think of the gameplay! It's a old game!
For Scout's soon coming mod, there should be erosion. While you are in the nether, depends on diffculty, your armour decays of teh waiste. On hard, it'll decay quicker then normal and easy. On peaceful, it doesn't decay.

As mind-numbingly, brain-explodingly, in-my-face, balls-to-the-wall awesome this is, I'm hesitant to use it because it looks like it will kinda change everything I've already built.
Very interesting, though.
on minor complaint evrythings too dark
i think torches should look like some sort of florecent light
and be a little bit brighter
That's either your monitor, your eyes, or the texture pack is just plain out darker than normal minecraft. Which is good, because this type of thing needs to be darker. Just get used to using more torches for extra block coverage, it's not that it's any darker - script wise at least. So monsters still wont' spawn in the areas as any other texture pack would allow. He's also making a texture pack, not a mod, so I don't think increasing the brightness of a torch is really viable.
Also, smooth lighting gives the illusion that things are darker, because without it - each block receives its own FULL lighting that brightens the entire thing, while smooth lighting looks like the block is darker because it only lights up half of it maybe. So check those things, and then check back with your results maybe.
I was thinking, for those who don't want scrap shacks everywhere - perhaps keep the normal trees the way they are. And the two trees that are going trouble, a design more like maybe? Could be that the reason there's no actual trees out in some other places, is they took all the trees there to make shacks.
Also, how are you going to handle growing trees exactly? Or are we going to forbid ourselves from growing trees?
Sorry for the double post, I didn't really want to make a giant post though, would make my actual point here really hard to find.
I can't find the quote, but I didn't know that History had that idea, I just saw "we need help with wool" and posted
(I am far too much of a lazy bum to read 46 pages)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
...Well it looks good on paper.

Shacks will be an optional mod, no doubt.

It's just a texture pack and some sounds... easy enough to not use the sounds and you can swap texture packs super easy.
Hey History, I think that 0calorie's contagious mod would go great with this texture pack. Maybe you could add that to the list of mods on the poll?
Still love the texture pack.
perhaps. I think I tried that out once.. Tho it is prone to crashing the game after it gets huge. I am not prioritizing mod support over the actual pack development, but perhaps I will do that later on.

The way I will legitimize it is with "Shack In the Box"... I think the name says it all. but in regards to your suggestion. I was thinking of talking to scout about adding some blocks to normalize the terrain a bit. Perhaps on with his LAST DAYS mod we could eventually have a terrain generation that has both the metal plates that replace stone currently as well as normal stone. That way landscapes with large mountains and such would look more believable but caves would still be made up of the metal plates. I am not sure how complex or possible that would be, but it was something i have been thinking about.

A quick question; Does this change more than the textures? While I love this pack, it causes me to crash in smp.
if you download the sounds and mods required to use the sounds/hd texture fix then yes. If you just downloaded the textures then no. however these are pretty reliable mods and shouldn't be causing you to crash in smp.

the textures are definitely darker then the default. It just wouldn't work if that were not the case tho. You could make your monitor a bit brighter and be fine probably. I have a two monitor set up and I keep one a little brighter and I can walk around in zero light and be fine.

Got it:
Wow these looks great man!
Keep up the good work!
Could you be kind and update that pig queen picture?
because i'm going tired of seeing that on the Last Days pack...
These look pretty good. I may modify one or two of them and to use for the pack. I would be modifying it mostly to make it visually/stylistically consistent with the rest of the pack.

Mod edit: Warned for going off topic.
Agreed. Sounds like a good idea.

Show your support for the best mod ever!

Curse PremiumEDIT:
I got the whole package of all my modded last days in one big pack that the same size! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WBU238UJ
It makes some mobs look blockier, but more dimensional... I may do it a bit more into it later...
