****. I have been trying to get this goddamn texture pack to install correctly for the past 2 days, but it's always grayscaled in the texture pack selection window and won't work. What the **** is wrong with it? I am putting in the RAR archive that I downloaded on the website.
First, the website one isn't updated, download from the forum, and second, remember the HD patcher, and third remember the order of installing mods:
Modloader 1
mod(s) 2
Patcher 3
am i the only person that has realized that the yellow flower resembles a pot leaf in a way? LOL. and i think instead of plants for dies you should use junk or scrap looking things. like a little pile of metal scraps. and the dyes should be seperate parts of different machines. for example green die = a computer screen or like a techy looking screen kind of like the background of the inventory. and i LIKE the cactus, its radiated cans or whatever, too bad there 3 blocks tall though, kinda ruins the idea :sad.gif:

That is sort of the plan for the plants and the dyes. I have to figure out the logistics of it but the plants will not be plants by the time the terrain is done. Item sprites are not my top priority right now since I am focused on trying to get the terrain finished but I do intend to do something much like that with them.

Holy Crap! This Texture Pack Is So Amazing!
After it's full release...we must make a Minecraft 3-5 part Movie about it, even if it's a random Comedy!

So, I believe I commented on this before, but I'm not sure where in the 40 some odd pages it was, and since search is not working, I'm disinclined to browse forty pages for my post, so I'll just re-post my opinion on the textures in this pack.
First off, the theme. I adore it. Sci-Fi, post-apocalyptic, Fallout-type landscapes in Minecraft fashion are a dream come true for me, and you're pulling this pack off with such effort and aplomb, I can't help but be drawn to it.
Now, just a few slight qualms before I start off my favorites. The text on the GUI is one of the hardest to read that I've seen. It's a minor complaint, but its there nonetheless. My only other complaint is the way your "lava" oscillates. When in small pockets, its quite a good idea, however, when viewed in large quantities at a distance, such as in the nether, it has a sort of headache inducing shimmer to it.
However, the rest of your pack makes up for it in every possible way. Your cobble as folded steel, while your smoothstone is perfect cubes of it is stellar, and your trees look wonderful for being made of metal. Your take on the ores are also superb, especially Diamond. Your art is wonderful, what parts of it are finished, and the mobs, peaceful and not, are terrifying in their own ways, primarily psychological; The idea of a spider as a robotic curfew-master is terrifying and amazing at the same time.
Besides that, all I can say is I can't wait for the finished product; I'm sure it'll be just as spectacular as what's already here!
Well thank you, I can't take credit for everything of course. The stone, trees, cobble, and some other fundamental blocks were doku's work. I am simply trying to do his original vision justice. I am trying to develop art very carefully which is why its taking so long... especially since most of it is being done from scratch. I am glad you like the hall monitor as well :biggrin.gif:.. I consider it to be the unofficial mascot for the pack at this point
in regards to your criticisms, I am going to fix the lava in a future update. I know exactly what you are saying. I hate the still lava animation at the moment... hopefully i will have it fixed soon. also in regards to the GUI.. that is something that I had completely forgotten I was planning to fix but I will start to work on that when I make some more progress on the terrain.
Heres what i think should be the todo list of the priority of the mod stuffz.
1.MineColony- The workers fit the theme of rebuilding life. It fits.
2.SDK's Guns- it works perfectly, the guns fit so well to a modern/future thing.
3.More Creeps And Weirdos- because the goo goats and blorps fit the mutations. The other mobs might not fit but i know you can work it out.
4.Mo' Creatures- yes, this famous mod, 4th priority because why in the hell would an apocolypse have lotsa animals running around the world? This would fit small bio-farms though, so turning the spawnlimits on very low would fit to this theme.
5. Fancy pack- this would go well, not because of stained glass. but because of farming, it would improve the theory of biofarms in this theme.
6. Humans+- my favorite mod in minecraft so far. This would be good and bad, good due to humans actually populating the world. bad due to all the humans being medieval.
7. and finally, Kings mods. This isl ast because it's ALL medieval, even though this is a perfect thing for the HUGGATRON, it is too medieval. the dragon tools, obsidian tools. drakes, netherhounds. All not fallout-themed.
and that is my review of your prioritys.
I hope you read this, and PLEASE reply, nobody ever replies to anytihng i say on the forums.
(They only reply when i make the 1st,2nd,or 3rd post, but thats usually it)
Reply you get + =

I've had pretty good luck reskinning the Humans+ guys to be more modern... hunters and villagers look like wasteland survivor types, knights are modern-ish military outfits, samurai now look like desert warriors.
Trying to change the hearts they drop to look like pills, made shields invisible.
Once I'm happy with it I'll put it up here for others to use. Possibly even this evening.
and i wanted to know something about the nether. can you ever make a mod from scratch to take away that red glow and maybe add in a black or blue glow? (so it looks more like the moon) and then you'd also have to take away the stone cieling and do something to where you look like your in space.(ex: make a skybox) but maybe at the same time make it to where it looks like your in a huge compound with glass cieling or something. I LOVE the idea of the moon being the nether. if you needed help doing this you might check in with the people who made the aether mod. i dont have a link to thier topic but they made another demension thats like the opposite of the nether.
History, Wolves should be something like lost dogs who's owners died and they look starved and scraggly. They should be looking for a new owner and friend so if you give them a (bone?) They will become your friends and protect you.
scout, I have been meaning to talk to you. I am going to send you a pm later on to discuss some mod possibilities, also if you have have anything in mind let me know.
You never sent me this, History.
If you don't contact me soon, I'm going to go ahead and release the mod that makes it so you need to wear gold armor in the nether.
I will probably also include code that will convert trees into REAL shacks (actual, small houses with varied designs, so that your wasteland looks like an abandoned suburbia), if people are interested in it. If that code goes over well, I will consider adding other code to the mod, to spawn stuff like factories (good source of gears, batteries, and dyed wool, perhaps?)
yes i did, I started a sponsored map section and put it on the OP.

I am very sorry about that scout. I just sent you a PM so this may be redundant but I am very interested in that gold mod still and the houses as well. If you have these houses coded at all already I would be very curious to see a screen shot. If you have everything all coded and are just waiting due to my inactivity by all means release it and post a link here so I can check it out. I want to talk more at length with you about this so I will try to get my head on strait asap.
Disclaimer: I am not the author of most of these skins, I got them from the Skindex and edited some slightly.
I will add this to the OP. Thank you for contributing. Its a shame that they are at 16x but I am sure they will go well anyway. I will of course give you credit and add you to the special thanks

This is most likely what I will do with the wolves. I realize it is not the drastic change some people may be hoping for but it seams to make the most sense. The only alternative a mutated animal of some sorts.. I am ruling out robots due to the wolf behavior. I also feel that since they are clearly very dog-like trying to make them into something else may be a missed opportunity and feel a bit forced.

So history when do you think the pack is gonna get finished and when it does what will you do then? Make more textures? :biggrin.gif:
Hard to say... I am focusing on finishing the terrain right now. Hopefully that will be done relatively soon but it still has a good chunk of work left to do. After the terrain is done it shouldn't take to long to do the items (boat, cart, etc) and the armors... but the sound and items.png probably won't be complete for some time.
