This texture pack is EPIC!!! I was working on Doku's released WIP and i have finished the terrain fully, i blended the best parts of your pack with mine (mostly yours)
This is a sneak preview of my world in progress. The base you're seeing is Military Base Alpha. The small door in the mountain is the path to the subway, which will lead to New Reno, a city, and my HIVE system. :biggrin.gif:
ive seen many pics without biome colored grass how do you guys do that? i want that too becouse i hate colored post apocalyptic grass :tongue.gif:
This is my fault mostly. I admit, with the exception of using photoshop, technology and I do not always get along. I will fix the way this all is organized in the next release.
that being said, open the zip as well as minecraft.jar. Open the direct to .jar folder in the texture pack. Drag the contents into minecraft.jar.
Hey history I tried to make my own biome colors and the grass worked and half the tress worked but i wanted to to show it to you to see if you like it or not or if you could help me make it so the new tress arn't green.

Yes, there is going to be a sound pack. however my friend who is doing the sound has fallen off the face of the earth as he does from time to time. hopefully i can get back in contact with him soon

I approve.. I don't have to mod, but I am familiar with it.
So.. I am gonna try and put out a revised release with a little more content next week. These next few days are very busy for me but I will work on it when I have the time to spare.
I love most of the robots you've turned the regular mobs into except the creeper, I think the creeper should remain as a large mutated organic creature, especially since you've made almost all other hostile mobs into robots of sorts.
And then there's issue with the skeleton and the fact that he burns up in day light. I guess you could say it's the suns radiation, but then you should make him look a bit more exposed, more like a ghoul from fallout.
I've seen a lot of other texture packs that could benefit from modding to add new features and this is especially true for this pack, since some things don't make much sense otherwise.
And stuff like changing crafting recipes and drops from mobs should be relatively easy to mod.
Flying squids for example is an awesome mod which suits this pack really well.
Custom settings for the biome terrain mod with custom trees would make make things a lot more interesting too!
Like increasing the amount of caves, reducing biome types to savannah, desert and bushland by raising temperature and humidity and lowering water level.
Actually, I might have a go at it myself.
by all means, if you find some good biome terrain mod setting message me the code and I'll post the code on here in a "user contribution" section I'll be making when I have time to sit down and get this all organized. I know it seems like I am around since I am logged in and responding to folks but I am not at my home computer and I don't have time to get into anything other then checking in and responding to people.
I know you said that most hostile mobs were robots but its actually split strait down the middle. I am kind of fond of bandits as they are, despite them burning up in the light. and I am inclined to point out that last I checked Zombies have never been known to burn in sunlight outside of minecraft so perhaps it can be forgiven. I am not myself a modder, I did plan on supporting flying squids and mentioned it on god knows what page... It seems to me the best bet is endorsing a series of mods, and proposing perhaps the users create a copy of their minecraft.jar (with the reccomended mods) to switch in when they are playing with last days.. this way the don't have to have flying squids in their other worlds.

Well, this is kind of like a total conversion mod. But I do agree with you on that we shouldn't go all crazy with it. I think the important thing is to make it compatible with the base minecraft first and foremost. If you rely too much on mods, then every subsequent minecraft update has to be re-supported. If your programmer disappears, then the project itself could die.
We can forgive the little oddities, such as bandits burning up, and toxic waste barrels growing taller, and use the lore to explain these little details. For a lot of the other things, such as mob drops, many of those items haven't been conceptualized yet. So the bones could become rotten melons that the bandits carry around for food, and then they break up to make fertilizer for whatever wheat becomes (I still vote for fungus!). When you are designing a texture pack from the ground up, you get a lot more creative freedom than just skinning a few things. Then we can all build mods to expand the creativity of the world even further.
I dig this texture pack alot,i've seen a few apocolypse texsture packs out there but this is the only one thats interested me. Notch approves ---->
I did have an idea of sorts that i felt like i need to put up here before i can sleep properly again so here it is:
The MMM's , i love the idea of them being used to hold ammo,so i was thinking,you destroy (kill) them,and instead of feathers,it should be ammo casings,so then you take the ammo casings,and the stick and the flint and instead of an arrow its a "Makeshift Bullet" and then,because the Hall sentry bot things (spiders) are machines,they can drop Metal Parts instead of string,then you take the metal parts,and sticks and use the bow recipe,just retexture the bow to be a "Scrap Rifle" it also gives it the excuse of it only firing one shot at a time,and being possibly slow (unless you like being unaccurate and going crazy on the right clicking like i do with my bows now) and yeah,i just thought that this would keep with the whole "wasteland" aspect you were going for,and i didnt know how high tec you were going,but i was thinking the eggs could be retextured as like Circuit boards or something,and because they have artificial intelligence,they were designed to rebuild themselves,but since the nukes went off,most of them malfunctioned so now you only have a 10% chance of the artifical intelligence kicking in and forming another MMM,the only thing is,you'd be making your cakes with Circuit boards,so im not sure that would fly too well with people,but anyways i thought these are things maybe to just,throw around in your head a little bit, but,once again,i absolutely love this texture pack,keep up the amazing work.
Hey two things first the 5th or 6th slot of the invintory screen is darker then the others its just one line but it bugs me. The second thing you should makr the sheep a junk bot like the fur be the same texture as the fleece blocks but then make the naked part like a big magnet. Oh and while we are on the topic of fur you should switch the white and light gray furs

interesting.. I did not know that that could be done with custom trees. I used to use Biome terrain mod during alpha. Perhaps I will look into this myself at some point. You are off to an interesting start. I would definitely be nice if the could be hallow and have door ways and windows, etc. I am working on the terrain now. I have taken a previous suggestion to make dungeons into little science facilities so I have altered mossy cobble and am working on the spawner now.
this is a super quick version... It will look a lot better but I figured I'd post it as a "concept" example. I am focusing on terrain and fixes at the moment. Hopefully I can get a finished terrain out next week along with some other WIP files (art, armor)
I will keep you in mind for sound.. A few sounds are done and in my possession (zombie, chicken, cow) but there is a lot untouched as of now.
and PS. I will not be around at all tomorrow, at least not from early morning until very late at night. So, forgive me in advance for the delay in responses but I will read everything when I am home. Also I plan to update the OP tomorrow night or Friday.
i have a few problems... the surface of the grass is still dokus and the artwork and inventory items havent changed to the drill and what not.. can somone help me?? im not very good with this sort of thing
