If you look hard enough you can see (Stock Photo) on the rocket.
shhhhhh. I know. I am going to fix that. I guess I was just hoping no one else would notice for now. The two big Orbital Industries incorporate some clip art. Other than that its all hand pixeled. I probably should have fixed that before I posted it.
I hate to ask this because people have already but is there an ETA for the pack release or at least a semi-complete version. my WinRAR licence like runs out in 15 days. So if its before then that'd be awesome.
Winrar can run out of time? the thing always pops up that it isnt free, but it never seems to expire... lol.
On the "stock photo rocket": Why take it out? I think it's funny, and it works well with the concept. Of course OI uses stock photos for all their propaganda.

I think once mobs and terrain are done I may release a WIP version. Since this is a complete conversion I wouldn't want to release it before those are done at the very least. GUI,Particles, and clouds are done.. I have just about finished the mobs and terrain has come very far. I guarantee that I will release something this month. hopefully within two weeks.
I'd like to start out by saying I've never installed any mods, and probably never will, however I have some issues with many of them trying to be incorporated into this project.
The problem is, most of them are rather complex and many of the features are very unambiguous. Take Mo' Creatures, for example. It seems to spawn tons of crazy beasts that would clutter the world and take away from the theme of it being a wasteland... way too much life going on here. Same problem with Humans+. I mean, pirates? seriously? Some of the humans fit, but you can't just load a few humans, the pack comes with them all (or minus the two deadly ones).
I would say the gun mod would be neat, but then again, why would there be so many different types of weapons in a wasteland? And it comes with a frickin cannon, how is that going to work? Ultimately, the only one I could see working is the creeps and weirdos pack. A good majority of the critters could work with this theme. The guinea pigs, for example, I picture small roomba-like robots that you can reprogram to fight for you.
I could be wrong, because as I said I have not actually installed any of these mods... But, no matter what mod you reskin will take a lot of work to incorporate into the theme, and that's my point. Is it really worth it? I think that's the question that needs to be asked when choosing what mods to skin.

I do not entirely disagree with you. Its hard to say what I will really end up doing. I don't aim to impose any mods on those who would just want the texture pack. I just figured that it would be interesting for those who already use mods. I in fact don't use any mods at the moment. I tried mo' creatures a few versions ago, and a I have played around with a few others in the past. Then again I have hardly even played in a good while, due to this texture pack and general business)

Honestly, I get why people would want their favorite mod to be compatible with this world, but the best mods are the simple ones. The ones that just add a simple, ambiguous feature. That was the idea behind minecraft that makes it awesome, and how you can take that simplicity and turn it into something as awesome as Last Days. I of course am not going to say don't do it, because ultimately I don't have to install any mods I don't want to. And if you can make it work then by all means make it work. From what I've seen, if anybody can do it, it'll be you :wink.gif:
EDIT: Eventually the mods will become the only way to add new lore to Last Days, so it will probably be inevitable anyway... Have you ever considered making your own mods specifically for Last Days? I could totally get behind that!
If you need guns, then minegunner would be better.
As i wrote before, stone pistol is already looks and behaves like a zip gun.
And these guns are quite balanced.
*EDIT* Humans+, More creeps and weirdos and Mo'creatures have settings file, you can disable all mob if you want.
Ah yes, I couldn't remember what that one was called. Let me state first of all, Mod support is not a priority at the moment. By no means do I plan on adding it until after I have finished everything else. If I were to support one of these mods (mine gunner or the other) I would likely prefer minegunner. SKD's seam a bit over powered to say the least. In regards to the comment that its less likely that old fashion guns would survive. The approach I am taking to the lore and crafted items is that you are actually making them (since that is what happens) so It would make more sense if you were able to make a simpler gun. Like I said before, the only mod on that list I have ever tried is Mo' Creatures and that was right after he made horses. I am not really a big mod user myself but I understand that many folks are and that the ones that I put in the survey are rather popular. I also welcome the concept of reskinning some of the custom mobs simply because I much preffer mob skinning to terrain editing.
PS. KEEP AN EYE OUT
I am thinking about release the WIP soon. perhaps very soon.
Page 6.. I will get the OP organized better. I have been posting randomly throughout the thread.
Edit: look sweet id love to have that as a sidearm to pull out in sticky(thats what she said) situations

I agree with the above poster.

No offense to all those SDK's Gun Mod users, but I think you play FPSs a BIT too much.
I prefer MineGunner, it's MUCH more realistic.
