Could you make flint a Coke can since it would make sense if you got the flint from garbage/gravel and that would explain why arrows don't do that much damage and they can be reused. Also it's post-apocalyptic so gravel/garbage has tons of garbage in it especially coke bottles.
Is it possible to change the nether's fog to green instead of red?
I was wondering that myself.
I don't believe so.. I think it is hard coded like the sky/normal fog. In regards to the toxic waste.. I intend to change it a bit.. Not to be like Nukacraft. Just because I am not satisfied with it as is.
You really make progress. Awesome progress.
But for the alternate wool pack - would you rethink of the wool being (rusty) metal in colors? =D
That's not bad. Make the wool into scraps of metal and find some way to make the dyes into paints. I don't know what you're doing with flowers so I don't know what those would be, but the ink can easily be motor oil of some sort. The cacti are already barrels of green sludge. I'm also not sure about the lapis lazuli, but I'd love to be able to make old paint cans of spray paint bottles somehow.
But yeah. They can still be muted colors (or maybe not even muted), but metal and paint would possibly make things easier on you and still make some sense.
How about the wool just being rusty scrap metal with color?
This.
It would be kinda difficult to make a printer out of wool, if you mean like the blocky printers. The tray and screen ton top, and random lines on the sides. Heres a pic from google I resized to 32x32 because im bored!
When this comes out, I wanna make a story word for it with quests and stuff :biggrin.gif:
I really REALLY love this mod so far, and it is coming along fast.
A few things I have to comment about:
- Using trees as shacks -- It doesn't make sense that the shack "leaves" drop saplings, which are used to *grow* new shacks... An idea here: If some kind of nanobot created the (aluminum) shacks and they fall out when broken, then they can be "planted" in irradiated soil to create your own shack cluster. The nanobots could also explain why toxic waste barrels grow (they dump their waste in them).
- Also, don't forget that aluminum (wood) would then be used as fuel for smelting, along with many of their by-products (aluminum siding, rods, and even stairs and craft tables), and be turned into a compressed aluminum (charcoal) that serves the same purpose. This would mean a complete re-design of the smelting system. Perhaps use the aluminum for a chemical reaction, or electrical property? Or use the excuse that you need aluminum to protect whatever it is you're cooking, in this case then charcoal => aluminum foil, aluminum rods become skewers, etc. and coal ore => Bauxite, and you're mining aluminum oxide <= coal. This still does not explain how you use aluminum to turn ore into ingots (in this case, gears, and whatever gold and clay will be), or sand into glass...
- Fire -- It doesn't make sense that toxic waste streams could ignite things. Nor would it make sense for it to electrocute things. But melting them with acid, on the other hand, makes perfect sense. Acid will eat through aluminum and could spread in a similar fashion as fire. Then that puts a new take on things that get ignited; flint and steel => an acid spray can (flint => can, steel => gears (the spray mechanism)), netherrock => a secret nuclear compound that reacts volatilely with the acid (hence what they are mining on the moon, and what the nuclear waste is mostly composed of), mobs brains melt from their reaction to radiation from the sun. So if you can edit the fire, it would make sense to do it this way... It won't even need to be animated so much (think lots of alpha, and look like green smoke or bubbles).
P.S. I absolutely LOVE the trash block. Reminds me of the giant hills created by Wall-E. Which I am sure at least a few of us will try to re-create once this mod goes live!

I hope he does this. But Im not sure he could make the fire acid. I think the fire uses the fire from particles.png, and arranges it according to the fire tex thing in the terrain.png
But, that is just a guess. Green torches would be cool, would make the torces look nice and radioactive
Coal could be radioactive rocks, and you put it on a stick and it emits a green flame that gives of white light!
I think that if wool is going to be random objects like printers, sheep should be some sort of trash storage robots, that dispense all their trash once they get hit.
I know this is a longshot, but what if saplings were some kind of beacon, that indicates to scavengers, that it is safe to build there, then, when you aren't looking, BAM! They build a shack.

yes! that a great idea! I think... the forums should have a like option for posts so you dont have to post saying

But then if you have a tree farm or something like that, you've got mysterious invisible settlers invading your home/property and building junk.

Well maybe they realize, that you were LYING about the space, and they just up and leave as soon as they see what a crap-hole it is. I would make my tree farm in the the worst place possible so that they leave as quick as they can.
The triple-M's would also likely drop food for soldiers to use. In this case you could make egg => calorie chunk. The calorie chunk doubles as a weapon since it is solid and aerodynamic. Then milk => mysterious protein liquid harvested from the mutant cows. Sugar cane => salt deposits, wheat => fungus (which makes mushroom meal <= bread).
Add these ingredients together and you get a full square ration <= cake! (The full square ration could be in the shape of a pie... think meat pies, or in this case mushroom... if you wanted to go with "The cake is a pie!" idea outside of the poster)
Also, the salt deposits could be turned into saline jugs <= paper, which could turn into a new home decoration such as a water tank <= bookshelf.
So I had about a two hour power outage and lost all my psd files I had open. They were all saved as pngs already but losing my layers is slowing me down a bit.. Anyway.. this is one potential way of doing wool.
Everything makes sense in Minecraft. You can ride a pig in Minecraft. You can punch wood. This is YOUR world.
I'll think of some lore to explain why these TVs are in the wilderness.
Revised zombie pigmen... Ignore the netherrack.. its just like that for color reference.. it wont look at all like that.
Is it possible to change the nether's fog to green instead of red?
I think this type of toxic sludge is better
Here's NukaCraft: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=67602

EDIT:
A little more of a rusty metal feel now.
