With this pre-release I have taken everything back to the mosaic style, but I have changed the mosaic pattern so that it tiles well (screenshots of these changes below.) These will most likely be the textures used in the final SineCraft v14 release. The new pattern applies to every texture that uses the mosaic pattern; this includes grass, dirt, sand, gravel, clay, stone, nether/end terrain, cloth and it's variants, and leaves, among others. The mining indicators have also been updated to match. I have left up the SineCraft v13.1 download below for those of you who prefer the old textures.
Please tell me what you think about the new mosaic. If there's enough interest the new textures will come standard in the final release of SineCraft v14, which will come after Christmas.
I don't like the new terrain textures at all. I understand the tiling frustration, but I honestly can't use this texture pack as long those terrains are there. I have used and loved this texture pack for as long as I can remember playing Minecraft. Which is before 1.1 or something like that. Is there any way to have both the terrain textures in separate downloads? I really wish there was a way to make the old texture tile. Because I loved the way they didn't tile at all, but I do support and respect an artist's direction.
Again, I would much appreciate a secondary download for the old terrain at the very least, but trying to tile something similar to the old one would be better. I have this specific style that your texture pack just hits dead on, but I just can't tell what about it I like so much. I should just make my own texture pack, but I don't have the right tools and I am definitely not as creative as you, which is why I respect your decisions so much. However, I do have to keep my opinion and say that I do not think the new grass is as creative as the old grass. The sand, though, is really fitting, but still lacks the design that I would expect from a pack like this. I would suggest meshing the new and the old together some how. Have it tile horizontally like the new one, but keep the same mosaic style like the old one.
I don't know if my opinion matters, but I can't play Minecraft without this texture pack; I won't allow myself. It makes the game for me. The aesthetics of this game with this texture pack are unbeatable in my honest opinion. When the item textures were changed, I was so stuck in the old ones that I didn't like them at first. I don't know if I even like them now, but I am slowly growing towards some of them; Other ones not so much. This texture pack is too good to be the same as all the others.
Your opinion definitely does matter. The entire reason I started and continue to update the pack is because of the people that use it.
I really wanted to keep the old grass style but make it tile well. Every attempt I made didn't work out so well. The problem with the old grass is that it kinda hurt your eyes to look at a wide open field. I honestly don't like the new grass that much after playing with it for a while, and also keep in mind that this is just a test so it will likely change. Maybe I ought to just go back to the old grass; I would like some more opinions on this before I jump back, though.
With that said, you say you do like the new sand. Does this mean you also like the new dirt?
In any case, you will see changes in the next release, which will probably be another testing release. And thanks for using the pack!
Hey, I just registered to tell you that I love, LOVE, the new style. Pre-release 4 is what I'm using, and it is by far my favorite version of this texture pack. I really like the way they tile, I really love the designs and colors...
If this texture pack never changed again I would be more than happy.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that SineCraft is still alive and kicking, despite lack of updates and posts from me in this thread. I've just been very very busy with real life and running our new company (which continues to snowball!)
At this point, the response to the new terrain textures in Pre-Release 14 has been very positive, so that will most-likely be the final SineCraft v14 release.
In addition, SineCraft is also currently front-page featured on http://www.minecrafttexturepacks.com/ so go and check that out, and big thanks are due to act4 for building this awesome new Minecraft resource.

I am inclined to agree with you, and I don't think SineCraft will change in a major way again anytime soon. I am still planning mobs, armor and artwork but I doubt that's coming soon.
Hello, Sine. This is xiondisc, from a few pages ago that said I didn't like the wavy grass and sand. I just have to say that the current grass and sand are so much better. I like how you took away the double pixel'd lines on the edges of the blocks. I also like how you left it plaid, but still managed to break the lines somewhere in the tiling. However, I do see one place in it where the line never breaks and continues consistently through the tiling. I don't know if that was intentional, but it doesn't matter to me at all. I love the new terrain textures and I would give you a hug if I could. This made my day! :smile.gif:
Also, a little thing on the item sprites. I wish they would be a little bit more consistent. Aesthetically, they are great individually, but all together, they don't seem to match. I don't have any proposals. I am not that artistically inclined. You seem to know what you are doing when you get an opinion. So, I will just give you mine and hope that helps. :tongue.gif:
Hi all! I have finally updated SineCraft to match Minecraft v1.1. Please read the release notes for this one before downloading!
------------------
v1.0.0 - 2.7.2012
Minecraft v1.1 is out, and SineCraft has been updated accordingly. In addition, SineCraft v14 was to be the 'final 1.0' release of SineCraft; I would have continued to update the pack, but the core textures would no longer change after this release. As such, SineCraft will use the vX.X.X versioning scheme from now on to better represent it's 1.0 status.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm actually not the greatest artist either, so I don't know how the items could be improved to match each other better. The weapons/tools and armor icons should be fine, as should the meat, but I can kinda understand where you're coming from for the rest of them. Sorry, I guess all I can do is try to work on that in the future :sad.gif:
For those of you that like this texture pack but wish it was a HD texture pack, I am working on a 32X32 version of this texture pack (and don't worry I already asked sine if I could do it(he said yes)).

Omg, I can't explain to you how much I love this texture pack! As for everything I said before, just keep working on this and improving it wherever you see fit and I'll keep giving you input. Thanks for giving me the best thing ever! <3
Edit: Going to take some pictures of my world using this texture pack. I hope you like it!
I LOVE the netherbrick texture. Looked forward to it and I'm really loving the purple-y-ness.
I just wanted to give you a heads up, though, that there's no redstone wire texture. It's just a black square. No need to rush, I can tell it's there, just figured you'd want to know.

NEW RELEASE! v1.0.1 is up, and Redstone Wire is fixed! Get it below!
------------------------
v1.0.1 - 2.12.2012
This update fixes Redstone Wire. It seems Mojang made a minor change to the way Redstone Wire textures are pulled from terrain.png, and I failed to notice that while working on SineCraft v1.0.0.

Doh! Mojang and their undocumented changes! :biggrin.gif:
It's fixed in v1.0.1, grab it above. And thanks a bunch for pointing that out, I hadn't even noticed!
Why does this look RPG to me? It's like oCD meets dokucraft (in a good way).
Thanks! The similarity to Dokucraft are actually somewhat intentional; the SineCraft color palette was inspired by Doku's RPG Texture Set (which is the set Dokucraft was originally based on) and vamediah's item set (which was made to match Doku's RPG Texture Set.)

Curse PremiumI didn't even realize MineCraft 1.1 was out yet as I haven't launched the client in weeks. Crap! I'll try to get something up ASAP.

I hope you like it! I LOVE THIS TEXTURE PACK!
Edit: It really helps to have my monitor for the full effect. The colors on my monitor make Minecraft look so bad ass!
Also, it isn't finished and it never will be! If you have a suggestion on what I should add, that'd be cool!
