Ahh, you mean the textures that are still defaults. Yeah, I'm probably going to leave those as they are. There are some textures where I just can't come up with anything better than the vanilla texture.
I really can't; the vine texture is a greyscale image and the game engine saturates it on the fly using a gradient. This is so biomes have a different color tint to them. It's the same way for grass and a handful of other textures.
Hi Sine, I don't like to have base textures in my game, so I made new versions of all of the remaining base textures in items.
My favourite is the rotten meat, and my least favourite is the fish. Or maybe the brewing stand, but I have never brewed potions so I don't care about the brewing stand.
Holy ****, those additions are awesome! And inspiring! When I get some free time I'll go back through the items and try to replace the remaining defaults with some like yours.
EDIT: Just wanted to let you know that the shears actually weren't default. The differences are subtle but they are there.
Does anyone know if there is a compatible pack I can scavenge for mobs and animals that would match Sine's wonderful pack?
I've looked for some to borrow myself (with author permission, of course) but I haven't had any luck yet. SineCraft is pretty unique, both in the designs of the blocks and the color palette used. If you do find anything please let me know!

I've started to use a mix of Cubism and Sphax for animals and mobs. Cubism is close. Not perfect, but the little squares in their design "almost" matches. The coloring is a bit off. More dull and pale that your pack, but it'll do for now. Sphax is another good one. It doesn't quite match the style since he uses hexagonals instead of square/rectangles, but the color palette is good.
Its been over a year I think since I have been using this texture pack, And I want to just thank you for you hard work and thank the person who was continuing this when you were not available to update. I was wondering if it was possible for you to make a 64x64 version of this texture pack. I know how much work goes into these but I love this pack and I just found out my computer runs HD textures good so now all I have is HD but I miss this one so much I want to always use it. So yeah hope you reply back Asap

Hi all! Before I get to the replies, I wanted to ask all of you for an opinion. I was considering changing the terrain textures for the next SineCraft release. I've never been very happy with them but I felt they were good enough with the mosaic style. I'd like to finally ditch the mosaic style on grass for something smoother and easier on the eyes. Think something similar to the grass textures in vanilla Minecraft, but with SineCraft's color palette. Basically, I want rolling green terrain to look like rolling green terrain. The same changes would also be applied to sand, and possibly gravel and clay.

Thank you, and you're very welcome! I am just happy to see people enjoying my work. I'm sure godlikekitten will also appreciate the sentiment.

SineCraft will always be a 16x16 pack, and the reason is that the majority of the textures already feel (at least to me) somewhat high-resolution in-game despite being 16x16. This is because the majority of the designs are based on clean, simple lines, whereas most other packs pay much more attention to small details. Except for certain items and textures, SineCraft has always given me the illusion that I was using a higher-resolution pack. Increasing the resolution would not really improve the pack, it would simply add more pixels where no more are necessary.
Not at all! You should launch your own pack sometime, if you haven't already. If you ever want any help let me know, I seem to be pretty good with everything except mobs and paintings.

What do you guys and gals think about that?
After thinking about it for a while, I just said "Screw it" and made the changes anyway :biggrin.gif:
v14 Pre-Release -- 12.15.2011
SineCraft v14 Pre-Release brings re-designed terrain textures; grass, dirt, sand, and Nether/End terrain has been changed. Those textures now look more organic, and do not follow the mosaic style like with previous SineCraft releases. Check out the screenshots under the download link to see what these new textures look like. I have also left up the SineCraft v13.1 download for those of you who prefer the old textures.
Please tell me what you think about the changes! If there's enough interest the new textures will come standard in the final release of SineCraft v14, which will probably come next week.
//NOTE: In Pre-Release 2 I changed the terrain textures again; I wasn't happy with the way the new textures tiled in the first Pre-Release. In addition, I have re-designed the vines, and I have made some misc. small tweaks to various textures in the pack.

I don't like the new terrain textures at all. I understand the tiling frustration, but I honestly can't use this texture pack as long those terrains are there. I have used and loved this texture pack for as long as I can remember playing Minecraft. Which is before 1.1 or something like that. Is there any way to have both the terrain textures in separate downloads? I really wish there was a way to make the old texture tile. Because I loved the way they didn't tile at all, but I do support and respect an artist's direction.
Again, I would much appreciate a secondary download for the old terrain at the very least, but trying to tile something similar to the old one would be better. I have this specific style that your texture pack just hits dead on, but I just can't tell what about it I like so much. I should just make my own texture pack, but I don't have the right tools and I am definitely not as creative as you, which is why I respect your decisions so much. However, I do have to keep my opinion and say that I do not think the new grass is as creative as the old grass. The sand, though, is really fitting, but still lacks the design that I would expect from a pack like this. I would suggest meshing the new and the old together some how. Have it tile horizontally like the new one, but keep the same mosaic style like the old one.
I don't know if my opinion matters, but I can't play Minecraft without this texture pack; I won't allow myself. It makes the game for me. The aesthetics of this game with this texture pack are unbeatable in my honest opinion. When the item textures were changed, I was so stuck in the old ones that I didn't like them at first. I don't know if I even like them now, but I am slowly growing towards some of them; Other ones not so much. This texture pack is too good to be the same as all the others.

Curse PremiumWhat are you talking about? Everything is pretty much finished. The pack will not be worked on much until Mojang adds new items/blocks to the game.

Curse PremiumSorry, but no. The color palette used in the pack is exactly the way I want it to be.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy SineCraft! I dig your avatar; the Dr. Tran series is one of my all-time favs.

No biggie, the differences weren't too noticeable. I had always planned to re-design the shears in true SineCraft style but I never got around to it.
