first off... i wanted to say thanks for creating such a beautifully-creative texture pack! pretty fantastic, i must say! :smile.gif:
secondly... i was curious, and i am sorry if this had been addressed before (although i did not find it)... will you be releasing the world that is in those epic screenshots?? i would love to explore what you have built!

The only issue with our current version of Rome, is that it is constantly expanding. H07Hawk and I have been working on this map on and off for a long time, and every day we work on it, significant change usually comes about - either a building is made, or a mountain is destroyed and more roads layed out. There is no progress bar on this project, since we seem to have infinite future projects for it.
But maybe if we hit a good checkpoint, we will show off our progress.
I must admit, the sandstone has grown on me. Good thing to, because I'm going to be working on one hell of a desert forttress. I love this texture pack =D
Oh forgot to mention I have two suggestion. The first is about the lead pipes still showing redstone sprites. I don't know if it is possible, but if you can't figure out to get rid of it can you change it to blue? Then it would just look like the pipes are leaking a bit.
second, I believe every sword except gold is a gladius right? What about making the wood, and mabe stone a gallic blade, since you have some gallic armour. I'm not sure what they were called, but I know the gauls/celts used a longer, curved blade for slashing rather than the stabbing gladius.

I am already upset that I can't change the lead pipe redstone sprites in a texture pack, that would have to be a mod (I believe.). I definitely wanted to do so, but I don't have the technical knowledge to do so.
Right now every sword is a gladius, yes, except they do get longer in length as they get better. My original intention was to make the wood, stone, and iron swords Roman, and the diamond a Gallic one. Why? Because I figured if someone wanted to make a PVP match out of this, the Barbarians would be screwed by having the worst armor, so I thought of balancing it with the Gauls getting the best weapon!
I like how on the right hand side you can see the building I still haven't put a roof on, for who knows what reason. And how the hill hides the new insulae on that side haha
this might be a stupid question, but.. what block is the clear white tiles you use as the floor on several pictures?
That is the white marble block, commonly known in Default terms as the Iron block. I decided that white Marble would probably be just as precious as a block of iron in Minecraft :wink.gif:
sweet. sounds about right. :smile.gif:
guess i got a helluva lot of stripmining to do.
trying to make a roman-themed area, and the townsquare needs those white tiles badly.
After downloading and checking out everything I like it but you really should make it 32x32.
I am going to reach the final version of 16x16 before I even think about 32x32 again. I need to perfect this pack, as I don't want to leave it unfinished to its full potential.

Yes the patcher is a pain notch needs to add support for 32+
I switched from a 256x256 texture pack to get this. Very nice job with it! I was wondering if you could make a autumnal texture pack, since my eyes are getting tired of endless green in all directions.

There are many texture packs devoted specifically to a fall setting. Are you saying you want Seasonal Romecraft?
