Through my construction with sandstone I've noticed the new halfblock textures, especially the sandstone, can look a bit wierd so I thought I'd bring it to your attention. The problem seems to arise from the fact that the slab copies the top half of the full blocks texture, and not the bottom. This leads to the individual bricks on the texture of the block not matching up
Here's Sandstone, it should be fairly easy to spot:
I took pictures of wood and cobble stone, but actually those look fine so I won't bother posting them. Hopefully you can fix this without having to alter your lovely sandstone texture.

Wait, I don't see it!
Look at the top of the wall where it alternates between full and half blocks. The dark lines on the sandstone don't match up like they do with full blocks. It's not that bad I guess, but since I'm using a lot of sandstone right now I guess it really bothered me lol.
I probably shouldn't have used the word "bricks' in my description because each block could be called a sandstone brick I guess.

Thank you for this picture, I will look for an appropriate solution if possible!

Wow! That is very nice! I like the overall unique shape of the house, but still is pretty much a perfect dome. Domes have always been a colossal pain for me, like the 44x22m one on the Pantheon. This reminds me of some examples of the earliest Roman structures made out of wood... or perhaps, Barbarian influence? *Squinty eyes*
I don't know about any influences. I just had the circle to pixel reference image on my hard drive and decided I wanted to use it. All I did was.. reference the image plenty of times.
I originally was going to type out how I did it to make it easier on myself, but when i was done I realized it was still rather complicated. Though what I did to start was build sand reference markers to establish the base. Then just built on that using the circles reference image in another window. I used dirt supports as a starting point for upper layers that don't touch other blocks by the side. Sand and dirt so I knew at a glance what I intended to remove all along.
Made it easier, but still kind of a pain! Past that, the overall shape is altered slightly to make the inside feel more spacious rather than keeping it a perfect dome. To go into more detail than that would.. require a picture filled tutorial! Wow, dome structure houses really are a pain, but it paid off at least. I've never had a nicer home.
Now I'm sort of tempted to make a dome home tutorial. I can't video because my computer is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap, but I could take tons of pictures.

You tell me that you've heard every sound there is
And your bird can swing
But you can't hear me
You can't hear me

I know the pain of building domes:
That is from my Pantheon, and I made its dome using a process very similar to what you described! I never really thought of making dome huts, but you may have motivated me enough to consider building some villages in that fashion.

These screenshots don't include the Romecraft texture pack, I disapprove.
Hey StugAce...
I dont think this is the correct place to post this but oh well..
I love your Romecraft textue pack..
but was hoping that you could do me a HUGE favour and change the new wool of the texture pack, to the older Romecraft wool colours... just like green and blue and stuff... because i love your texture pack, but ive made a few wooly statues around my world and now they look proper weird.... Im not asking for you to change your whole Texture pack.. but if you've got any spare time, i would love your exact Romecraft texture but with the original Romecraft wool... like maybe add a extra link at the bottom of yourpage or something.
love your work, cheers.
I am considering reverting Black, but the rest of the colors reflect purely historical patterns and I rather not remove them. They are staying as they are, sorry! I promise not to change them radically from now on however.
Do you think you could add support for Wild Grass? I have always liked using that mod, and wondered if you could add roman grass, if there is such a thing.
Hey stugace may you please change the texture of bricks like change the red part white and the black lines red because i have been studying roman buildings and alot ofthe builds/walls used bricks like that.

Is this what you meant? If so, you can download the edited terrain.png and install it into the texture pack.

I don't have the earlier wool colors, as I started using Romecraft on the previous version (so I do have the original Black); but if someone can provide them I can do this for you.
If anyone needs variations of Romecraft I can help you.

Romecraft Approves. If you do not like certain versions of Romecraft, I approve of most alterations as long as all textures made by me are given proper credit! Any alterations posted on this thread are pretty much valid though. Wool changes are to be expected, as I was selfish with the wool patterns so that they would fit the city of Romecraft better!
Maybe I will post several versions of Romecraft when it is entirely complete. Speaking of which, I will be having a slight update shortly to address a few textures.
As for white bricks, I have not seen any examples of Roman white bricks, unless if they are painted. All brick was reddish in color from creation.
It wasn't necessary to quote my entire post; but yes, credit goes to StugAce for Romecraft, changing a few colors and/or swapping textures hardly deserves any credit.

I did not mean to be rude, just saying that I approve of your alterations.

you did this on paint?
You lack a sarcasm gland. :tongue.gif:
Corel Photopaint/Draw, which I use, doesn't seem to like transparency, so I use Paint.net for Minecraft.
