I have a fetish for women. Is this odd? Is there something wrong with me? It’s really bad, too. Like, everyone time one of them walks by, I do a sly little chest-rear ogle. I can’t stop myself! It’s like a disease!
how about changing gravel to look like marble? i know the ironblocks already look marble-ish, but marble can vary in color and everything, and the sheer amount of iron needed to make a nice looking white-stone floor is killing me :biggrin.gif: also, the gravel is totally useless anyway. just a thought.
Hey stugace, if you ever come to the point where there isn't much to work on, could you start reskinning the stuff from other mods like fancy pack? Would greatly appreciate it.
I have a lot more to do, as well as possibly starting another Historical-themed pack.
Maybe A viking texture pack? I know someone else is doing it, but there hasn't been an update since 1.0 and all there is is the GUI.

I think Creepers just need a hug. Turn that frown, upside down!

edit: wrote marble where i meant gravel.
Well, I was thinking of alternate ways to obtain Marble, but really, marble was considered a very precious resource to the Romans. The alternative you could use is white wool (light gray), but I definitely want to keep gravel as gravel, since it does have a use as roads.

The gravel is actually not totally useless, considering the sheer amount of roman side streets and country roads that would have been made out of something similar to gravel, rather than paved with cobblestone

yeah, i have been using wool as an alternative. thanks for the tip about gravel, you and hawk have a point. i guess i'll just have to keep punching those sheep. but i need like 2000. better put on some coffee.
keep up the good work, i'm checking the thread every day just to see if theres been an update :biggrin.gif:
I really want this pack but when I have downloaded it and choose a world, it only load it up and freeze with a black screen..
What do I do?
It's not a problem with the texture pack, it's more than likely a problem with a mod you're using. A lot of poorly designed mods can crash when they see anything but a texture pack it's expecting to see.
This texture pack is making me want to have shields in the game so we can have some sort of Gallic shield, maybe hoplons, and of course that wonderful Roman square shield of which I don't know the name. (scutum, thank you google)
This is awesome. I shall create a Roman fortress! Those foolish pigs do not know what is coming to them!
But that fact aside... the pack looks brilliant. No lie. And since you have been looking for an idea for the half steps, here's mine.
You should keep it more like the default but around the edges is silvery and the middle has a square with not very defined lines and a darker finish. Just sayin.

TOGETHER! WE WILL TAKE ROMECRAFT BY STORM!
My halfsteps have gone through many different styles, one of which is the one you describe. I ended up ditching that idea since it did not look good used as steps or as columns! It looked good for strange wall designs however.

Oh well. But anyway. I love the pack. I am currently building a small Roman Town. (Not Rome. That's your job. ) Like...say one of those more developed Roman fishing villages. Gigantic tower, two houses, a small farm/aquaduct. Something like that. But still. Love it. Rome shall be built in Minecraft. And it will be magnificent.

Thank you, it means a lot to me! I keep improving on my techniques constantly, so a new version will be out soon. (I will call it Romecraft Final edition, but I doubt it will be totally complete :wink.gif: )
Hope you continue to enjoy it, and post pictures of your town if you want! I'd like to see it myself.

I've heard of this before, but I don't think it has anything to do with my particular pack, but perhaps your game.
