Very cool! I like how you related the wood blocks to crates. I didn't even think about that, but now that you mention it I can definitely see what you mean. Awesome indeed.
Plus, that is a cool looking wall design as well. That must have taken awhile to get all tha gold!
If anyone else has some photos of the pack in action, please feel free to post them here. I'd love to see what you guys have done.
Ok, my first post in the forums :biggrin.gif:. This is my favorite texture pack, the only one i ever use.(except maybe sophisticraft <3) the things i love are; the more sinister look you give to skeletons, the new creeper (looks more like an alien/supernatural being), the wooden planks look very nice, The workbench, furnace and chest screen looks AMAZING (first pack ive used to change this) another thing i like is that you change the in-game models for the armor, they look great!
the only, only, only little tiny small thing i dislike are the swords. the diamond one is fine, but the other ones look too simple and flat. they look out of place when in your hand, the whole world looks amazing but then you have the simple looking sword in your hand. i know its a small thing but imo new sword textures would make the pack the best 16x ever! x9001
*edit* maybe not my first post but defiantly the first one that i actually took the time to write out :biggrin.gif:

Thanks! I really appreciate the time you took to post this.
I'm glad you like the new GUI screens. I'd probably consider those my favorite part of the pack as well. Regarding th swords, I had to do a lot of experimenting with those. I wanted to keep them basic and unadorned, as with most other things in my pack. I went with a very direct approach in reasoning how to make the items look. I figured that placing one stick underneath two iron blocks (or wood, stone, etc) would make a rather basic looking and large sword, while diamond would make the only ornate one. Making the sword any thinner would put it at the same thickness of the handle, which in my opinion would look a little strange.
If I get any more comments on the swords, I can definitely see what I can do to change them. But right now I'll probably leave them as is.
By all means, I'd love if you guys can give me some more feedback on this. If you like it, dislike it, or feel it needs something changed, feel free to post what you think here!
I normally don't like to shamelessly bump my own therads like this, but I'm just very excited to have gotten 3,000 downloads so far. I seriously never expected this. Thanks again, everyone!
As I said before, please feel free to leave a comment on what you think of this pack.
Tis not shameless good sir, quite a quality pack you have there!
Seriously though, this is one of the only packs I've come across that has it's own unique style. Really great stuff . A lot of packs have nice themes to them but as someone mentioned before, it is quite retro, which is very cool !
some how i instantly jumped to golden axe when i saw this pack, well done sir. I might download it sometime and see what i think of everything, but i can already say im super impressed with the gui and items :smile.gif:

Thanks! It's really cool that you like the texture pack. It's really gotten more popular than I initially expected, thanks to everyone who has downloaded and commented.

I had a lot of fun making the monsters look new and unique. I'm glad to hear you like them!

good luck keeping this pack going :smile.gif:
Ah, Golden Axe. What a great game - especially the arcade version! You know, I didn't even think about it when I was making this pack, but I can definitely understand why you related it to Golden Axe. The color palatte used in that game looks to be pretty similar to the one I used here.
The GUI screens are some of my favorite pieces of this pack as well!

I've downloaded 3 texture packs so far (including this one). The first one looked beautifull, but some blocks, like pumpkins, the complete nether, gravel and some others looked awfull. The second one was cool too, but didn't work.. And now i have found one that doesn't only look awesome, but also works great! That working, awesome texture pack is called: Adamant Pack.
It really looks good, I love the pumpkins, the boats and especcially cobblestone! Thanks alot guys!
Well, I'm flattered! I'ts good to hear that the Adamant Pack can hold up to the competition. The pumpkins were a blast to make - and the secret was to add just a bit of purple for the deep shadows. My goal with the cobblestone was to make something that was original, tidy, and easy to look at. Seeing that cobblestone is one of the most widely-used blocks in the game, I made sure to get it perfect!
Thanks to everyone who has commented so far. Keep 'em coming!
HELP! I like the idea of downloading this but when I download its a efw? Or something like that... and thats not NORMAL D:
Help please!
An efw file is a result of your virus protection system trying to block you from using the texture pack. Don't worry, though; the texture pack is not a virus! If you try downloading ANY zip file, your computer will block it as well.
You may be able to override the efw by changing the file extension from ".efw" to ".zip"
Hopefully that works! I hope you'll be able to use this pack.
I have a love-hate relationship with this pack, EVERY single world element looks amazing to the point where I can honestly say this is the best pack in its style
however, the mobs, both passive and aggressive, and the armor looks bad, really bad

Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback! I'm glad that you like the landscapes, and also appreciate the criticism. However, what exactly do you dislike about the mobs/armor? Just saying they are bad does not give me any basis for improvement.
I've heard a lot of compliments on the Adamant Pack, so I am curious about what some of your criticisms might be.
well the armor-icons are great actually, the armor itself however, looks really really bad when actually worn by a player
all the suits of armor look like suits made outta cardboard boxes with a few holes, painted to look like gold or diamond etc., the "pants" could be some kind of kneepads or shin-guards, the helmet should be smaller and the chest-plate could turn into gloves and elbow pads or something something along those lines that does not cover the whole skin, it looks better by default but more importantly it avoids the box-effect, also, ideally all the armors should look different from each other rather than just looking like palette-swaps (I know they aren't, they just look that way when worn)
as for the mobs, I guess it's an issue with the usage of pixels? I can't really put my finger on it but they just look really outta place, the creeper is a palette-swap of the vanilla one with a slightly uglier face, and it looks way more pixelated; the skeletons suffer the same syndrome, uglier vanilla
both the zombies and zombie-pigmen are the best of the bunch, with only a few over-pixelated-looking areas (the arms for example)
I'd say the mobs look too fantasy-ish when compared to the realistic-looking envoirement, I'm not sure if either of those definitions were something you were going for but I feel that's the best way to describe it

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. I really appreciate it. I definitely agree with you that I need to change the in-game armor. I am currently working on it and plan to implement it in the next update. It will look much less carboard-boxish, and much more dynamic.
I'll probably keep the mobs as-is, though. I have gotten a number of criticisms of the Creeper, mostly because it is just so different than the original. It is not a simple palette-swap, though. If I do change any mobs, that will be the one. The skeletons are completely redesigned as well, definitely not a simple palette-swap. There really isn't much you can do with a skeleton. They are going to look very similar regardless of the texture pack.

This is a really great pack, my only gripe is I think a texture pack this big would have it's own block breaking animation.
Otherwise, awesome.
Actually, it does have its own block-breaking animation. It is just not that different than the original. And like the skeleton, there is not really much you can change with this. But I have been toying with the idea of having chunks removed instead of cracks formed. I'll definitely look into it for the next update.
Thanks for the input!

I love this pack but can you make it so the glow stone deosn't have any nether stone in it
and also could you make creepers green please
kthxbai
ps. I love the beady eyed pigs and cool armor! <3
I tried making the glowstone purely golden-colored without any grey netherstone-ish substance, but it looked too unnatural, especially in a place as gritty as the Nether.
The pigs were kinda fun to make. I personally think the little beady eyes make them harder to kill - I feel remorsde every time!
As usual, thanks for the feedback! I'm really pleased that you guys took the time to say what you think. Look forward to a number of corrections in the next update!
