I love dark and realistic packs, but I also like to have a collection of vivid, cartoony, and simple textures. I wanted a 16p pack that kept the feel of the vanilla textures, had a common theme, and wasn't overly simplified as many clean and cartoony packs do. It's not the first Mario-themed texture pack, but the textures are sure to be kinder on the eyes, and you can tell what you're looking at at a glance.
What's included: Fully retextured terrain and item blocks from the Mario universe Mario 3 themed GUIs New paintings Higher quality sun and moon Themed particle effects Optional: A Super Mario 64 overworld soundtrack to compliment the experience (download link below)
In the future: Minecarts Boats Tools Most items Pumpkinblur overlay Friendly and hostile mobs with custom sounds Improved ore textures 'Fancy' leaf textures (maybe) Custom flowing water and lava
Screenshots:(click to enlarge) Recognizable blocks from all generations of Mario
Bright, sunny, cloudless skies and lush green landscapes await
Never compromise your builds with novelty textures. Mariocraft textures still look great for all your projects
No stone left unturned; The Nether is now the realm of nefarious King Bowser
That is awesome, beats any other Mario pack I've seen so far. I'll download when it's a bit more complete.
Thanks. Definitely trying to come up with ideas to do with everything that is still uncompleted, so it may take some time. I have ideas for mobs, but since we can't really change the models so much as just retexturing them I'm not sure what I plan to do yet. Yoshis could be either pigs or chickens, and hostiles should be things like koopas, skele koopas, and I would like to have a flying bowser for ghasts.
As for tools, items and amors, I guess I could do items like hammers and star rods, and make armor sets out of things like Tanuki suit, Metal Mario, and Wing Cap Mario, so that'd take a bit of time to sprite.

My friend, this is true awesomeness in its entirety! Loving the video's drum and bass Mario music remix also! :biggrin.gif:
As a side note, would be great if you could some how merge the additional Mario sound track download into the main zip - keep it all togther such like
I asked my friend to put together the short teaser video for the texture pack showing some of the features, and I kinda like the music. I may include it as an optional record track in the future. As for the two packs I wanted to make sure no one was downloading anything they were just going to delete anyways, but now that I consider it, it would just be easier to provide two downloads, one with and one without. Will update downloads right away.
