Glad to see this pack's still being updated! And I've got my two cents, as always.
I'm not the biggest fan of iron things being that dark. I think the anvil could be lightened a bit to better match all the existing iron materials, instead of darkening all the existing things to match one new item. Of course the anvil would still be relatively darker (since it's worked iron and all that jazz), but not almost-black like the vanilla one is.
Could the glowstone lamps have a greater contrast between active and inactive? Some things I mess with use the lamps as indicators, and it's not always immediately obvious which lamp is the active one when they're close together (so the giving of light isn't the dead giveaway), and sometimes the lamps are used as indicators when there's existing light.
Could an option for torches with a little glow on the end be added to the customizer? Yes, I'm still going on about that...
EDIT: Also, I seem to be getting a crash whenever I try to load a world with Optifine and this texture pack. Doesn't happen without Optifine, and doesn't happen with Optifine and different texture packs. I waited for an Optifine update (D4->D5) to see if it was a short-lived bug, but it seems not. Any clue what it is in your pack that could be causing it specifically, so I can edit that out to avoid the crash?
Here's a clip of the crash report that makes me think it's just one of the customizations in your pack that Optifine doesn't like, but I don't know enough about texture packs to know which files to remove. ^^;

The Minecraft community in general isn't about "respecting and caring" either. It largely consists of narcissistic children who disregard those other than themselves and like to spout anger, abuse, troll and flame. It is also why any competent multiplayer builder either owns a private server or one where build allowance requires in-depth vetting. If Minecraft was about "respecting and caring" these measures would clearly not be necessary.

Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier.
Hmm, I can understand preference for both. I personally really prefer the dark iron. The bright, shiny iron seems almost unreal, though I can't make it a medium grey, as that's the color of stone.
I'm definitely going to keep all versions of the iron in the customizer, so people can choose what they want at their leisure.

I haven't had this problem myself, but I think I know what may be causing it.
In the 'enviroment' folder is a file called 'lightmap0'. Try deleting that.
My memory escapes me, but I believe I was testing a few things with a custom coloration of the light. I ended up going back to vanilla, but that file remains there, for some reason.

So I'm curious... the "Redstone Update" plans to change texture packs around, giving them new (well, new to vanilla) abilities. The plans are under "Rendering engine rewrite" here. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redstone_Update
Do you have any plans for animated textures, like sparkling ores and junk?

I already have animated textures in the form of the furnace and the still water.
I'm not sure about sparkling ore; it could be sort of odd looking if there were sparkles dancing across a diamond when it's in shadow, so the sparkles would just be grey bits.
I certainly could add something like a slight pulse to blocks such as glowstone.
Definitely not fond of this:
Every block will have its own texture file
Mods that have separate texture files are an absolute pain to work with.
Currently my to-do list for non-update related things is this:
Little metal/gem bits on the handles of certain tools.
Greater contrast between on/off glowstone lamps.
Possibly different configurations for plank shapes on different wooden planks.
Cast iron versions of all iron blocks.
Clean, white iron versions of all cast iron blocks, for the customizer.
Lit torch end for customizer.
I also have wanted to make randomized textures for things such as ore, but I now worry how that would conflict with 1.5.
I like the pack and all, +1 to download! But I'm sad because the trapdoor is solid and unable to be seen through, think you could ever have a alternate version that is? OAO

I think you forgot the existence of Fireworks.
ed: And enchanted books.
Quote from Changelog »
December 28th
'Oops' Fully compatible with 1.4.6; Fireworks sprites and particles added.
Enchanted book sprite added.
All iron items have both cast and refined iron versions in the customizer.
Many alternate versions of the wood plank types have been added. The Variation of torch, with lit end, added.
Variation of trap door, with holes, added. New plank textures; much more aesthetically pleasing.
All iron blocks and related sprites now have the appearance of cast iron. Metal tools and armor retain their shiny appearance There are now metal or gem caps on the ends of axes and pickaxes. Redstone lamps now have a greater contrast between on and off.
Fixed an error with the end portal textures.
Possibly more, but I've probably forgotten.
Here's a good screenshot to showcase the changes with this update.

Retired StaffCast Iron Golems would be pretty sweet.
Have you managed to get the custom colors part of Optifine to work, too?
I noticed a color property file in the texture pack, but it's marked "dead".

Retired StaffThat can be arranged, with the original look in the customizer. (Which I'll try to keep updated, I've slacked on it in the past.)
I did try to implement that, but it didn't seem to take effect for some reason. If anyone has an explanation, that'd be great!

Retired StaffHmm, I could try fixing that in a bit. My fishing rod could possibly be shorter than the vanilla rod.
Which GUI? I'm unable to determine which file you're referring to.

Retired StaffHuh, that seems to be up to date as of 1.4. Could you explain further?

Good idea, I'll probably change that in the next update!
Yes, definitely. I'm sorry I haven't been able to add it sooner.

Retired StaffOhhh, I see the problem.
It's more of an error than something needing updating. The problem should be fixed now!

Retired StaffCould you post a screenshot of that? That's really odd.
Shouldn't matter; 1.4.6 doesn't add any textures.
I can definitely add that as an alternative!
