I'm actually getting a bit of deja vu commenting on this topic... odd. :wink.gif: It's true that you added your own water texture right? Because it looks different in the pictures and I am loving what you did with it! However, my water in-game is from the vanilla pack... any ideas? Thanks AGAIN mwahahahaahah. I am now unintentionally haunting this forum...
You need to download MCPatcher which will allow you to do that.
Yep, there's a link under the download for the patcher!
All you need to do is start it up and click patch at the bottom. Any texture pack you use until the next update will work fully!
Bettergrass is an option, but I recommend having it off.
It adds full grass sides on short drops to help grass blocks look more like "hills", rather than steppes.
I don't particularly like the way it looks in my pack, as the lines of the textures wrap badly, and it looks sort of odd in general.
Don't worry about asking for help.
You're polite enough and I'm happy to help you enjoy my work. :laugh.gif:
EDIT: I've changed the poll so lava and water tallies are merged. I'm probably going to do them at the same time regardless.
Alright thanks! It worked and my water is looking better than ever! Also, I was wondering if you're planning on adding Aether support? If so, do you have a release window?
The Aether is coming along nicely. Here's a small preview of the portal, with my new autumn leaf gradient shown in the background. Also of note: *
That would be the ambrosite ore.
And you can see the gravite ore in the layer pane. Woo!
Testimonial: This texture pack changed my life. Before I had it, I was merely a trained assassin utility droid, but now that I have it, I'm a utility droid with an above average texture pack!
Philosophy on the Aether set of tools: Skyroot tools are basically a pallet swap of normal wooden tools, with a few differences here and there.
Holystone tools are somewhere between normal stone and steel tools in design.
This is due to the fact that the ingame character will now have more experience crafting with stone; and holystone items are better than stone tools.
Zanite is somewhere between steel and diamond, due to its varying between the quality of those two.
Gravite is designed as a step up from diamond, with studding in the handles, and more elaborate tool heads.
So, I took the liberty of making a Spawner Gui for this.
I have a feeling that the random noise on it doesn't look that great, though. I didn't really want to find the palette and make good noise so I just copy pasted random sections.
In action:
Actual image file:
It goes in the /gui/ section.
ed: I decided to finish up the job, and make GUIs for all of Risugami's mods...the ones with editable GUIs, that is.
Wow, that's fantastic.
Don't worry about the noise, that's actually how I spreaded it around after I pixeled a small section.
I like the way you handled the radio buttons.
Now, I ask if I may include them in the .zip?
I'll be sure to credit you.
Go ahead, dude.
Feel free to modify them to your content, as well, in case you find something you don't like (the directional buttons on the floodgate come to mind).
this texture pack is very good. The thing i like most about it is that it doesn't stray too far from vanilla minecraft, yet it makes it look so nice. One problem i found though, was for the inventory GUI, the boots slot does not actually match the boots themselves. Other than that, thanks for the great texture pack.
Also just found out that the cows have udders. That made me giggle a little.
One last thing: just saying, the fire is normal. Just saying. totally not burning cows...
Been a long time since i decided to post back in this thread, but i would really like to ask that for your customizable pack, if you could add the old style sand and wood textures before they were changed around 1.6 i think it was. I liked the much smoother and less noise textures. (I'm sure i can't be the only one) Also has the water changed? It seems a lot darker than i remember. (I have had a bit of a minecraft dry spell, you will have to mind my ignorance.)
I don't recall ever changing the sand textures.
As for the wood textures, I don't believe I've changed the planks. I made pine logs darker than before at one point, to diverge them moreso from normal logs.
I did make smoother chests, crafting tables, etc. in the 1.6 update. The rougher old ones are in the customizer.
For the water, I had the transparency off, so it appeared brighter. That is now fixed, and it is translucent.
I tested that out, and didn't get the same result.
So I edited your terrain.png so that the "off" torch was lowered by a pixel, and it started working as normal.
Just to prove my point a little better, I ripped the two and layered them into this short gif:
ed: Erm...the OP link doesn't seem to work, anymore.
It links to the pre-Aether version.

Retired StaffAs soon as I get the chance to play around in the Aether.
Actually, I'm bored. I'll do it now.
Support for WildGrass.
That'd be pretty cool.

I looked into that, but decided against it. Why have Wildgrass now that tall grass is vanilla?
If more people ask, I'll work on it, however.

Retired StaffTop left is original, while bottom right is Xenocontendi.
I've sprited a sizable amount of the Aether items.
They now should blend in better while you play!
I also seemed to have misplaced the +3 markings on the last update. This is now in place.

Retired StaffMost.
I'll finish the items, and I might skin the mobs that don't match the theme.
Such as sentries, with their cobblestone shell.

Redstone torches are shorter when they're on than when they're off.

I believe that's on Notch's part, with his meshes. No worries!

I like the iron/gold/diamond block much!
