Before I start, forgive me if I'm doing something out of place. Or repeatable, whichever is the case.
So, I was using the Quandary TP (3.1) for the longest time. Then, I stumbled upon Cube Craft 1.1. I love the Cube Craft environment, but I wanted to use the Quandary item sprites. However, when I tried to move the items.png from one folder to the next and re-zip them, the receiving set gets the monochrome-default icon, and the set refuses to work at all. (No items, no environs, etc. everything is default.)
SO I fumbled with this for the longest time. Hours. I did find Minecrafter, though I couldn't figure out how to use it. It did seem to have great potential, though.
So, my questions are:
1. How do I get the modified TP working? (Is this even allowable?)
2. I like the armor ideas in the Quandary set. Is there a way to change the way they get that box off to the car before the ice melts
(edit)
This is what happens when I try to type when people are talking. Wow.
2. I like the armor ideas in the Quandary set. Is there a way to change the way they appear on the player?
(/edit)
Thanks in advance. -JP

Because potatoes have never been something so valued to mankind.
So you wanted to put the quandary item sprites, but it didn't work... I would suggest that you would extract the cubecraft zip at your current location (click "extract here"). Then you would take the quandary item sprites in the gui folder, without extracting. Copy and replace the cubecraft file with the sprites (if there is one). Be sure to create a new zip. Then, copy the folders that you once extracted and edited into the empty zip. And that should get you your sprites, or practically anything you edit.
And by the way, I made Quandary armor models, and pretty much improved Quandary in my point of view. So check out my "Best of Quandary Pack" if you want.
My pack is relatively functioning. Kinda. :3 It's sketchy at the moment. More to come, I hope.
Maybe you'd enlighten me as to the process of making the TP it's own, distributable zip?
And how can you make your own in-game armors? Whatever software you prefer is good (hail TPB) but I do use Gimp more often than not.
Thanks for your help! Credit to you on the final product
Wow, It has been quite a while... what is your texture pack by the way? Or at least the name of it, anyway...
So, if you want to distribute your texture pack to the public, I would suggest uploading your .zip to mediafire and or multiupload (I use both to satisfy the masses). After that provide a link to the direct download in your main post.
Though if it's constructing a texture pack itself, then I will have to go into much detail if needed.
As for the armors, I just edited the default Minecraft armor models and placed them in my texture pack .zip and I only used GIMP the whole time (and I'm pretty sure I didn't use any software).
Can't wait to see your texture pack in the works! XD
Well, most of that's going into the pack is a dub of FFTA sprites, which is probably legal. (I hope so; I'm not making any money) However, they don't do pants. Which is an issue. Or tools, etc.
And another question: can I change the item rollovers in a TP?

Yes, you can. You can find it in the gui.png in the gui folder.
I am glad I can be of assistance. :biggrin.gif:
And as long as you give credit and a link to the content you are using, then you're in good standing as for legalities go.
So, I can change the description from "Iron Helmet" to somehing like "Barbute"?
I'm assuming I'll just give Square Enix credit, since the ripper wanted none.
Are you or any of your craftan buddies exceptionally good skinners? I'm not, which is why I used sprites in the first place. However, those sprites need in game armor...
I figured you may be capable/up for the task.
And the pack is looking like being called either "Renaissance 2.0" or "Cubic Renaissance". Because of how the armors, etc make the game look pretty differrent.
I wasn't sure whether or not if I wanted to mess with the terrain, but subtle changes might be nice, to suit the items.
Thanks for any help! :biggrin.gif:

You must not change any of the names of the files that you have zipped up in your texture pack. The file names of the default Minecraft must remain the same as for the edited version, or else the pack would not work properly.
So your basing it off of Square Enix?... well if there isn't a fully developed pack just like it, there's no need to mention credit, but the basic idea, of course, is mentioned.
Good skinners, you say? Well I know a couple, including myself (I think), that is capable of the job... but a better question would be if I knew any good skinners, not only capable, but ready for the job. I can say that I got my own texture pack to tend to, and the only good skinner I know would be my friend, one of the higher contributors to my pack: bonemouse. Bonemouse is credited with the original Quandary mob skins that he made... however I'm not sure if he'll help out you, just because he might have other things to do or another... but you never know.
If I see the armor sprites pertaining to the pack, then it is easier on me to make the armor models. But like I said, I got my own texture pack to tend to... (so maybe if I have free time).
The name, "Cubic Renaissance" is an excellent name, but only so if that's what you want it to be named, if so, go for it!
Every good texture pack must mess with the terrain, be sure that it looks better than default! Make the textures the way you want them to be, if you want cobblestone to look like bricks go ahead, there's nothing wrong with editing the visual elements of Minecraft.
Alrighty, then. I'll send out the call for skinners on the forums. :biggrin.gif:
I can send you the unfinished copy, with only some of the items in, such as the new diamonds, ingots, bricks and armor (of course, no pants).
If you want, I can e-mail that to you, or upload it somewhere. If you have a good, free hosting site, I'd love to hear it.

If you could, only send me the finished armor sprites, because I feel like I'm the man for the job. If your armor sprites are set in stone and if I like them, then I'll make you those armor models, when given the time of course.
But I tell you what. Maybe you do not need a skinner in the first place. I made my armor models in two days and I started with almost no experience as to use GIMP. I think you can do the same... have your world with all the armor, using INVedit, and see what fits where and what not, that's how I learned what goes where.
When skinning armor, can you use the hair slots? I know that the defaults are skinned to the body, but the iron helmet I had in mind looks as if it has spikes on the side of the face.
