Now that I think about it, I would like some more mushroom options. Well, a problem being that I would also like some new giant mushroom textures, but I like making strangers do work for me :wink.gif:
Anyway, I would like a Russula Xerampelina;
as a red mushroom and an Amanita Pantherina;
as a brown mushroom. Just for customizer options or something.
Sounds good to me... I bet I could make those mushrooms have seasonal color tones. :biggrin.gif:
I'll keep these mushrooms in mind, sorry about ignoring your post; I was working on other things. :tongue.gif:
But yea, more mushroom textures! But not now... not yet. I'll try to get a small update out for tomorrow, and then release mini updates throughout the weekend for Beta 1.8 content.
This is my agenda, my plans for the future!:
v1.9.1 = new vine and iron bar textures (Plus other new content I worked this week unrelated to Beta 1.8) v1.9.2 = new melon texture and mushroom textures (possibly new seed sprites). v1.9.3 = new natural cobble (inspired by xLakota) and refined brick cobble (I never quite finished the mossy and cracked cobble). v2.0 = Release of Plethora, and possibly other new textures for Coterie. New biome representation; biomes will have realistic colors. I am also planning on discontinuing the Green version (since no one has ever needed it to my recollection). As for the Special version, I might also want to discontinue it... then take its random content and transfer it to Plethora, if requested. I know that some of the MUSE paintings were a big hit, so I'll definitely add a couple of those in the customizer. :wink.gif: My reasons: (based on total downloads and views today)
Original Coterie Craft = 1981 downloads, 3966 views.
Green Version = 30 downloads, 300 views.
Special Version = 27 downloads, 131 views.
Clearly, there is no reason to support the two versions.
Yea, the color of the mushroom is effected by the weather according to the seasons. Though I may not have an advanced knowledge of a mushroom's life cycle, I can surely imagine that its color could be effected by how much moisture it has. For instance, the mushroom could have more color in some seasons and duller in others. Or... we could do different mushrooms entirely, without too much change, of course. :laugh.gif:
Yea, some people have experienced the bug where they would get gray grass and leaves. But I haven't seen any reports about it for so long, it seems like such a small minority... if the problem is even there?
The green version takes those gray textures and forcibly makes them green, so that people who experience this bug won't have to suffer.
But seeing that no one has needed it in so long, why support it?
I personally think that the new stone bricks and the cobble bricks of coterie can coexist side by side without causing issues, the cobble bricks of coterie are more common, weaker, and make a nice substitute for the actual cobble texture
stone bricks, look to be less damaged, are stronger, and are much less accessible and changing it seems pointless since notch and the mojang team seem to have actually done a good job on it.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you tell me Redstone is useless, boy I will kick your butt.

Then I shall explain :wink.gif:
A mushroom would not be able to live that long. They only live a couple days or weeks in some cases. But it might work to have separate mushrooms for each season... I'll start looking for some ones that will work. And again, could you have an alternate texture for dead shrubs that looks like a little cactus?
This is the only Texture Pack I have ever used, as it is so clean and sharp. I just wanted to drop by and add my opinions:
-Make the chickens less yellow
-Make the Diamond block texture a little bit more subtle
-Make Conifer trees wood texture more subtle
That is all. :biggrin.gif:
Alright, understandable... *cracks knuckles* It's been a long day, enjoyable, here I am. Woo! Weekend! Now I can actually texture critically. :laugh.gif:
-You just gave me an idea for chickens... I can certainly make chickens seasonal by having them alternate from white, to the current tan-ish yellow, then to brown... Perhaps, if I wanted to, I could make golden chickens lay golden eggs... sounds like a great alternative texture, I must say! ^^
-I have actually made a new diamond block texture (along with gold and iron) to better fit the motto of "New Default," it's as subtle as it gets. But if people want to have the brick style back, then surely I'll provide a better version of what I once had.
-For the pine/conifer trees, I won't know exactly how to make them less subtle other than lightening the color the texture a bit. Other than that, I could make a new texture, but its not a priority.
On to the next commenter! *Whoosh!* (I'm feeling pretty hyped right now, but only because its the weekend, I guess)

Your logic represents many of whom who currently love bonemouse's cobble. However, I'm planning for a more natural cobble, as I have one gripe about the whole cobblestone philosophy. When water pours onto flowing lava, what do you get?... You get bricked cobble! Magic! :ohmy.gif: So... I'm going to consider making more natural cobble in place of the common, weak cobble. But I won't force it on ya, I'll let you guys tell me what looks right... at most, I could throw it in as an experiment...
Okay, about that new brick-style cobble. Indeed, the Mojang Team did do a good job on it, and I believe that they made that texture way before 1.8 was being developed (but I don't know for sure). Although you may have not noticed, I have actually made my own brick-style cobble... its not default, you are actually using a new texture, even if it looks similar in texture structure. Fact is, they made their cobble so good this time, I had to recreate based on how they made it, which used their stone texture in a certain way... whereas in order to make my texture in the Coterie name, I used my stone texture to make the new brick-style cobble... and its stone feel surpasses that of Default.
Then I shall explain :wink.gif:

The wildgrass mod already has a prickly pear cactus, believe it or not.
But the reason why I won't make it a prickly pear cactus (okay, maybe as an alternative texture) is because some servers use the shrub for places outside of the desert. For instance, Macropolis has a castle for a vampire clan back when Bloodlust was a popular thing... they used shrubs to represent the dead, lifeless atmosphere of the vampire culture. So if I did change it to a cactus, you could imagine what would happen...
At the least, I will probably make a new shrub texture... it just doesn't look right, somehow. Not a priority, of course!... so maybe later.

Can you make the steak look like a t-bone steak? It looks too similar to the pork chop.

Curse PremiumYes, I have been planning to do that before 1.8 released.
Similar with chicken, I want to have only the leg of the chicken to be edible... not the entire chicken!
I can't imagine a real player nomming(eating) at a full-sized chicken, that's barbaric!
