I must ask, is there a compatibility for IndustrialCraft planned for sometime in the furture? I like to play with texture packs, but the mods I use simply don't fit in too well. Anything?
So I have received some feedback regarding the tests I have provided you guys with...
Apparently, I get the assumption that the tests are so hard that many will not attempt completing it. If this is the case, should I upload two new, easier tests for this matter? The only downside to doing this is losing all the progress I have obtained so far; and the fact that I have only 3 days to get my results, is it worth the change?
Not worth it. You only have 2 days left to gather 50+ results, and you're not even close to that number yet. Best not start over from scratch now.
Not worth it. You only have 2 days left to gather 50+ results, and you're not even close to that number yet. Best not start over from scratch now.
Exactly...
Now I just need the support of many others out there to call on... more than ever.
I'll get my twin brother to gather his folks from the HL2:dm gaming community and hopefully that will earn more people. Because he is also my partner involved in the experiment.
And once my summer work is done, I will answer all of the on-topic discussion. (I'll dump it all on ya in one super long post of awesomeness! I believe it's called a BWUMP, right?)
Oh, and my youngest brother has done some development with the pack while I refuse to get involved/distracted. More on that when I come back.
As it turns out, my experiment will be significantly flawed if there aren't enough participants by the end of tomorrow. And I need every person possible... in all seriousness, I need anyone and everyone.
So... please help me out here. I know its not everyday you see yourself playing MC and then have been asked to take a test in the Summer, but its all part of the experiment.
I'll get back to developing Coterie Craft this weekend, as projects are due on Friday.
Alright then... if suggesting ain't going to get your support... then... I'll make you a deal then:
If you can get me 50 more participants, starting now, in a respective manner to take my tests before Friday for the purpose of the experiment.
Then I will have Coterie Craft fully support CTM, BuildCraft, IndustrialCraft, Wildgrass, and the Better Than Wolves mods by August 10th. I, of course, will not rush the quality despite the deadline. (it's a win-win, is it not?)
I apologize for my desperation, but think about it if you were in my situation--to have procrastinated to the last minute to finish your summer work!... and to know that you probably won't get any more participants if you didn't speak up or encourage you guys.
I love this texture pack, first off.I must ask, is there a compatibility for IndustrialCraft planned for sometime in the furture? I like to play with texture packs, but the mods I use simply don't fit in too well. Anything?

Nice job! Though would you mind if I use it as a base for a texturepack?
I would make completely put new textures on it though.
also, you'd be in the credits.
(See previous post here if you are confused in any degree)
Well...
I guess since no one is willing to take these tests seriously, I might as well tell you guys what the experiment is about.
Question: When displaying information, does the contrast between the text and the background color(s) affect how the reader processes information? Moreover, is it plausible that people will perform better on a test if they are presented with a test displaying white text on a black background rather than the common black text on a white background?
So for my experiment I decided to give you guys 2 tests with 2 versions alternating manually. Some of you took these tests on a 'white sheet', while others may have taken the tests on a 'black sheet'.
It is a fairly simple experiment, but to make it feasible and consistant... I needed all the help possible. And I literally imagined that your help would have given me enough results to make this experiment more dignified and valid.
But since I procrastinated so long on my summer work... I screwed myself over. Truly, I wish I could stop procrastinating... but as much as it can change, somehow I still haven't made the change to stop this habit. A habit that will vandalize your chances of success.
So far... here are the number of people that have taken each test category:
Fortunately, there is still one more day to get all the testing done. Though at this pace I would still need 3 more days... but maybe you guys can pull it off, and if you do you will be greatly rewarded... because I at least wanted 10-12 results for each category.
Assuming the deal still stands at this point... you get me to those categories all into the double-digit numbers (I win), and then you get your modding support quicker than ever (you win).
Oh well, that's all I got... to test or not to test. "For science"
I gave it everything I got to convince you guys to accept my plea for help... except this:
I could do all 4 of the tests again, and I've already got a friend working on it too. Sadly though, I don't have many friends here who like taking English reading comprehension tests...especially ones of this caliber. :unsure.gif:
Still, I'll see if I get can get them to take a test, "for fun". :tongue.gif:

Any and all support is appreciated.
They only have to take 1-2 of the 4 categories; test 01 and test 02 (either black or white, but not both in the same test #). I wouldn't recommend re-taking the tests again,
but...
considering this is the last day and all to get my results, I really don't care where my results come from. So if you want to take all four of the categories listed, then go ahead and do so. The help is very much appreciated!
Edit: I also see an unexpected jump in the result count, thank you very much! :cool.gif:
Tests are officially over folks.
Thank you for all of your help!
I'll be wrapping up all my other summer work that is left, so after that I'll reply back to you guys. But it will not mainly be about Coterie Craft yet, I have one more thing left to say before I bring on that BWUMP.
I have a suggestion; Do The Aether mods blocks, Coterie style!
I love your texture pack, it's so easy to get used to, i didn't even have to get used to it, it just seemed right. I would love if you would give it a go at the aether's terrain and items, beware though, there's alot of them. If you do take on this challange, posting some progession screenies would be nice, to see if you manage to enhance the look of the aether or not :smile.gif:.
Mod support is usually not at high priority, but the popularity of the Aether mod might say otherwise. Keep checking back if we decide to do it or not.
...so if you were one of the people who took my tests, I think it would be good to debrief with ya the actual experiment I was conducting.
Question: At what lengths will it take to earn the support of people online when they are given the most unlikely task that could very well be contradictory to their own agenda? Specifically, under the spectrum of a varying urgency, how many people, from which our targeted audience comes from varying gaming communities, will respond to our urgent request for participants when we assign them the option of taking one to two challenging SAT reading comprehension tests that were deemed critical to the survival and success of our so-called psychology experiment, which, in all truth, was actually a scientific experiment?
I wanted to administer three phases of persuasion in regard to my urgency. These phases consisted of suggestion, advertisement, and then desperation. Each phase would be in effect for about two days.
But please believe me, this experiment was an experiment in an experiment. So all that testing didn't go to waste. According to the data for the science experiment, results were significantly consistent to their respective tests within all categories. It was obvious to see that white text on a black background significantly increased proficiency in testing by a staggering 19%.
As for the psychological experiment, I had 2 participants when I suggested the tests passively, 15 participants when I advertised, and 13 participants when I was pleading desperately, making a deal, all that good stuff.
The interesting thing was that, despite it wasn't part of the pysch experiment, the desperation phase gave me significantly lower test results, which means the support I had was relatively weaker because I was acting desperate as compared to advertising, where my results averaged 45.333 out of 70 (passing) when I advertised as compared to being desperate I received an average of 28.462 out of 70. So thanks everyone for all your help! I really appreciated it, sincerely!

THIS PACK IS AWESOME! You deserve plenty of . There are a few things that I would think to be awsome, though:
You should add Mo' Creatures compatibility
Another thing would be Peaceful Pack compatibilty
And Airship mod compatibilty.
Anyway, this pack is so good that it competes with Painteryl for my fave pack. :biggrin.gif:
Those mods are not top priority, but they are something I might consider for the future.
I wonder when they will add seasons, male animals, animal grazing and animal breeding to minecraft :tongue.gif: and of coarse variations of colour and growth of grass depending on rain :smile.gif:
Also Cpt. Corn to add of the list of things to do I think that glowstone would look alot better if it had a more of a smoth texture if you know what I mean
Well, my bro and I have been working on texturing (except, I was working on summer projects, so not much was done). Seasons are something I will definitely add, and hopefully more extreme conditions of the weather... and then maybe themes like for example... an apocalyptic and then post-apocalyptic themes (but seasons are first, of course).
Could you clarify those natural elements with me? Is there a mod I need to be aware of in that regard?
As for glowstone, the texture is not one that could be refined and I am more than satisfied by the way it looks now. However, I could add a smoother one for the customizer (but I'm getting ahead of myself, I'll take it slow for now).
Oh, and just so you know. Glowstone was inspired from Australium, a glowing element most noticeable to gold (Australium is affiliated to TF2)
Hello there, I was recommended to install this texture pack and am very pleased with it. I have been looking for HD texture packs this whole time, but they are all too weird and don't have the classic Minecraft feel to them. The colors are all wrong or the animals look freaky. But this is excellent, it is a great enhancement of the original textures. I am particularly pleased with the cobblestone, my main building has a considerable portion of it and it looks hideous because of the default diagonal cobbling, but with your pack it is nice and brick-patterned. You should contact Notch about making this the default texture pack in a future update. Thanks for the great pack.
Your very welcome.
And as much as I would like to contact Notch, my pack is not at "New Default" quite yet. Not yet... but I'm getting there... and I better not take too long, Minecraft is going to be released sometime soon. So when I feel that my content is appropriate, then I will attempt to contact him.
And by appropriate... I mean these two things:
-Fix and refine textures and animations (Especially the lava, that needs re-textured. I will not let Notch see that!).
-Obtain enough originality (Using Quandary's content is acceptable considering I carry his legacy, but Painterly is something that I shouldn't hold on to... a good start would be to texture the gui, and eventually whatever is left.)
When that time comes, then I'll e-mail Notch. :cool.gif:
If you want, you could e-mail Notch yourself (e-mail: [email protected]). A vouch isn't the same as a request. ^^ (all up to you, of course)
Almost makes me wonder what Junkboy is doing... maybe he works on Scrolls. Could anyone give me some info on Junkboy, if you don't mind? :cool.gif:
hey cpt. corn can u please also try putting in CMT please
I will definitely support CTM! I am planning to give glass some smooth flare, but not too much, of course. I've heard people do not like the 'white cage' feel.
hey do you think that you could make this compatible with randomobs? thanks :smile.gif:
Probably not. When it comes to modding support, there is supply and demand. And I'm not too sure if the demand is enough to match the many many mob textures that are involved in supporting it.. so it's a no from me, unless otherwise.
Sadly I just found this pack.so I couldn't help with the making of it but I can still help possibly, with a review. Well for one I don't know what the people who don't like the wood are talking about it's awesome. Two, the armor is epic. Three, there is a little thing I found in an earlier post that isn't to big but looks odd the Mcpatcher "better grass" sides look different than the normal grass side. Four, the nether is really cool. And I would love to help u guys with this somehow so if you could tell me if and how I could help. And by any chance if you got the time, I'm making an adventure map and am using this pack for it sooo... I was hoping you could make the gray wool cause I'll never use it for anything else, an invisible block. And also make the iron hoe look like a scythe (you know grim reeper) and the golden sword look like a paladins sword plz. If you could do this, I would greatly appreciate it. And this is what you deserve: :ohmy.gif: :ohmy.gif: :ohmy.gif: :ohmy.gif: :ohmy.gif: (notches, srry um could you guys tell me how to get to the notches and diamonds and such?) thx
When you mean that the side grass looks different using the MCpatcher, does the grass look darker? Because I am wondering if that is Minecraft's fault... as I remember the sides of blocks were darker than the top no matter at what light, is that fixed yet?
So... your order is:
-Iron hoe = scythe
-Gray wool = invisible block
-Gold sword = Paladin's sword (will this sword be made of gold?)
(You give me the 'OK' and I'll texture it for ya. It sounds simple enough.)
I'll give these textures to ya via PM. And maybe put the sprites as alternate content in the Customizer (which I heard isn't working properly, so please help me on that! I don't know what the problem is with the customizer at all).
Oh, and there is a way you can help. Actually... everyone can do this:
Have fun doing whatever you like to do! And if you find textures in MC you know can be improved, don't hesitate to tell me.
Incredible texture pack, i'm VERY picky on mods/texture packs, i've tried tons of each, but only kept 2 texture packs (including yours) and 3 mods. I love how your mod does not ruin the feeling of the good ol' default pack, instead it adds more contrast and colors that make the terrain seem alot more alive. 5/5 kudos to you my man.
Nice to hear that from a fellow Captain. :cool.gif:
Comments like these always make me wonder if I should e-mail Notch now... New Default, I tell ya! x)
Thanks for responding so quickly and, would gimp be a good program to edit the stuff on? (oh and i found the notches i was on an iphone and it didnt show all the pics )
Yes, GIMP.
That is the program I use to make all my content, so best of luck to you.
Makes me wonder if I should teach MC texturing... maybe get less people making simple packs.
meh... It's all up to you folks! I could use a working mic though... my headset had one, but I think it broke.
I must ask, is there a compatibility for IndustrialCraft planned for sometime in the furture? I like to play with texture packs, but the mods I use simply don't fit in too well. Anything?
IndustrialCraft will be supported, but sometime after the Aether Mod. Mainly because Macropolis.fr is going to feature IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft in the future, so I must texture it for the sake of the server!
I was looking for ages for a new texture pack to use. I used a few in the past, then got stuck with Misas HD, but somehow I felt after a while that it took away the feeling of minecraft. Now I stuck for ages with the defaults, because it just felt better. Still, I wanted some more. Finally I found this, which still feels like the original, but better and more vivid. I really like it. Good job, keep it up please!
Also, Wild Grass support would be nice indeed :smile.gif:
That's New Default for ya! This is why I am here! :laugh.gif:
Nice job! Though would you mind if I use it as a base for a texturepack?
I would make completely put new textures on it though.
also, you'd be in the credits.
As long as you provide a link to my pack with noticeable credits... then go ahead.
I have a suggestion; Do The Aether mods blocks, Coterie style!
I love your texture pack, it's so easy to get used to, i didn't even have to get used to it, it just seemed right. If you do take on this challange, posting some progession screenies would be nice, to see if you manage to enhance the look of the aether or not :smile.gif:.
The Aether mod Expansion will be main priority for Modding Support. On top of CTM and Wildgrass, which are easy to support.
If I support the Aether mod Expansion, that will do a lot to improve my pack's notoriety. :cool.gif:
I hope you enjoyed the epicness of the BWUMP!
One more thing I would like to say...
Under the Coterie Craft name, I would love to texture MLP:FiM as another special version someday (maybe after seasons). This would surely make my pack 20% cooler.
Oh, and did I just make MCforum history for largest comment?
I must ask, is there a compatibility for IndustrialCraft planned for sometime in the furture? I like to play with texture packs, but the mods I use simply don't fit in too well. Anything?

I'll give these textures to ya via PM. And maybe put the sprites as alternate content in the Customizer (which I heard isn't working properly, so please help me on that! I don't know what the problem is with the customizer at all).
Oh, and there is a way you can help. Actually... everyone can do this:
Not at all, sorry. Does Sniff know?
Nice to hear that from a fellow Captain. :cool.gif:
Comments like these always make me wonder if I should e-mail Notch now... New Default, I tell ya! x)
Yes, GIMP.
That is the program I use to make all my content, so best of luck to you.
Makes me wonder if I should teach MC texturing... maybe get less people making simple packs.
meh... It's all up to you folks! I could use a working mic though... my headset had one, but I think it broke.
Thanks. :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif:
I see what you mean:

Not my texture pack in the photo, but certainly the map, called Planet Eden.
IndustrialCraft will be supported, but sometime after the Aether Mod. Mainly because Macropolis.fr is going to feature IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft in the future, so I must texture it for the sake of the server!
Sure! I'll include it in the next update.
That's New Default for ya! This is why I am here! :laugh.gif:
Me too. :cool.gif:
As long as you provide a link to my pack with noticeable credits... then go ahead.
Make my day...
The flag is a bit chopped at the red stripe (I'll fix that). If you want, I can post the banner...
The Aether
modExpansion will be main priority for Modding Support. On top of CTM and Wildgrass, which are easy to support. If I support the Aether
modExpansion, that will do a lot to improve my pack's notoriety. :cool.gif:I hope you enjoyed the epicness of the BWUMP!
One more thing I would like to say...
Under the Coterie Craft name, I would love to texture MLP:FiM as another special version someday (maybe after seasons). This would surely make my pack 20% cooler.
Oh, and did I just make MCforum history for largest comment?
