"The Halcyon Texture Pack" has a nice ring to it, anyone agree?

What do you think is a good name or what do you agree with?
The Halcyon sounds so Zelda related, but it does better.
The Capstone sounds like Capcon 8D
So, idk. I think people are more interested in a better looking name than a name with defination.

I know you're in progress of changing it, but between 1.8 and 1.9 I think the color/ lightness/ gamma / meatsauce??? I don't know what it's called...blended better between stone and cobble. It seems like too harsh transition to me now.
Raw Meat -
Lol. Was actually going to point this out too, but since it does fit the way you obtain it then I didn't bother, but it does look a tad of a bloody mess making look a little more like beef. So I'm on-board for a change there.
Chests -
I've gotten used to their looks, but I know I thought they looked a little flat for wood. I like their color but they almost look like stretched leather. So maybe a little depth/ grain to the texture, dunno. Prefer it keep it's dark color.
I really like Capstone. It works on so many levels. :smile.gif:

The name Halcyon sounds like a completely original pack, with "Halcyon" textures, that sort of thing... but since there is so much content from other packs, it would be suitable to have it be called with the word Capstone.

It also works well as a definition in the same respect.
So, I think we have a winner! Though now its a matter of constructing a short yet sweet title with that word. It could be called:

"Capstone Texture Pack"

The MC Capstone sounds like a professional name, more than a texture pack...virtually this is a fix as to how Minecraft should look, for the eyes to be pleased. The graphical capstone for Minecraft. A name that could even go well if it were to have exclamation mark as its topic... though in all reality, that's not going to happen, but as the vision to improve the gameplay and fervor of Minecraft is a vision that can really bank on that name.

Oh, and that meatsauce your talking about is the new vignette.png, it's a bit intense. Though it is designed to seem more realistic, it may be too intense... maybe I could dumb it down a bit for a better transition.

Less bloody, but just as raw might be for the better. It's rawness is supposed to make you think about cooking it.

And I'll add some more texture to the grain of the wood... keeping its color of course.
So it turns out redstone repeaters can be used to adjust the delay of a redstone signal/current (I didn't know until just now!). That in mind, I might add some texture to the redstone repeater so that its capabilities can be used with greater ease.

Why it's a 403 violation is because I deleted the old image that no longer worked. Therefore, the 403 violation was from "user request."

There is a vignette.png included, I downloaded it to be sure. Only this time, rather than the brown vignette.png that you remember, I added a dark blue instead... It created an effect that felt more "underground," the void of the white sunlight, for the color seemed as if torch light came off it.
If you want to compare the new vignette.png with no vignette.png at all, I would suggest that you press "F1" on your keyboard to disable the vignette.png; to enable it, please press "F1" again. This will give you the "before" and "after" situation, for v1.8 had no vignette.png at all.
For the next update, I will do quite a lot, but that all depends on how much time I have these days... So forth, the old name Quandary Reborn will be behind us, and the MC Capstone will be the new name of this texture pack. So that will mean a new banner, and a new format to my main post.

It may be too dark for some...me even after I play with it a bit...but it reminds me more of the older style dungeon crawling games.
Also, can't make the room dark enough in the den to really check out how it looks in a dungeon, have to mess with it more tonight.
I cannot accept the challenge until it is possible to do so.
If your a Mac user, then that will be the only way you can enjoy seasons, for there is no biome compliancy in that respect.
And since 12% of downloaders are mac users, I will not spend my time on seasons.
However, if there comes a time where biome compliancy does not become an issue, I'm sure that I will add seasons when I can.

I'm 90% sure that seasons are possible. Thanks to the Modloader and side grass fix, it is possible to make seasons, I think. Though they won't come as soon as I think... because I got the main texture pack in the works!

As the vignette is now, everything gets "warmer" (red=warm) at night. That is ... confusing.
The old vignette made a cold blueish glow in the dark providing a convincing shivery creepyness.
On account of the torch lights providing the light, as well as other light sources (jack-o-lanterns, lava, fire), everything is void of the white sunlight and exposed to a different color.
I, or dctrjons, will improve the vignette.png, that I can guarantee.
