The texture is from a block that Jeb was working on but abandoned before the release of 1.3. It's safe to ignore for now since no one knows what it was meant to be.

I see... any idea what the block was supposed to be, to cure my curiosity.
By the way, you made this
Do you also have a mossy cobblestone one as well?
I also found a diamond while mining, so here ya go bonemouse. :tongue.gif: (It's not fake, just so you know.)

As far as I know, the mystery block is still a mystery. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the next update, though.
As for the mossy cobble, when I have time, I'll update it. Have you tried it? I'm still not entirely sure that it's actually any better then the old one.

It looks like one of Painterly Pack's cobblestone imo.
Yah. Sort of. It uses the Quandary stone texture as a base, of course. But the "brick" pattern is similar to Painterly's. But rougher.
If anyone could tell me what that block is that would make it easier on me to design the texture!
On another note, this chain of comments was brought to you by my ambition to make sure every voice is heard on this thread, with good reason of course.
some people around the forum are calling it bleeding obsidian, idk how true that is but spreading what i heard

Well I have a few theories about that texture...
One: it could be a new block as an addition to the nether. Essentially, it is an ore that can be mined for a greater purpose... possibly a dimly lit, fluorescent block.
Two: Possibly a warped obsidian texture to act as the outlining around the insides of the obsidian-structured portal.
Three: A block that can generate slimes underground... though why it looks like theirs lapis lazuli around it I have no clue. So I guess you can scratch that idea.
Four: A texture used to represent an error or any type of missing content caused by a "broken" mod.
Five: A texture to purposely be unidentified. Essentially it is a way to raise speculation, and to ultimately have people like me come up with some ideas of what it could be, and then Mojang can bank off of that. :tongue.gif:
Can you explain the difference between the Mac version and the PC version...?
None of the other texture packs I've tried have had them, so...
The PC version is equipped with biome-compliancy.
The Mac version, since biome-compliancy doesn't work for them, is equipped without biome-compliancy.
So if your using a Mac and you decide to use the PC version, you will have gray grass and leaves everywhere!
I've seen a couple texture packs that include a "biome-compliant" and "non-biome-compliant" downloads, but I have not seen anyone specify how that applies, as I have. So I'm pretty sure I'm one of the first to do so (which makes a lot more people happy). :biggrin.gif:

Hmm... the biome stuff works for me. If the texture pack has a different-than-default grasscolor.png/foliagecolor.png, it requires a little more effort to get it to work (manual JAR editing.) But the non-biome-compliant is certainly prettier because of the side-grass. :wink.gif:
Side by side comparison, for fun.

What? No! Don't change sandstone! It looks perfect as it is! I can actually tell which is which without it being ridiculous looking! I love it now! Exclamation points!
Also, my screenshot has been moved down? Time to one-up everybody with some really good stuff...

Me too, I love my sandstone... but there's one problem.
Did you know sandstone can be found in nature now? So when you dig through sand you can uncover sandstone bricks, which foils the epicness of the sandstone texture.
So, therefore, I need to make a more natural sandstone texture.
Daveking had an awesome screenshot... so in consequence your screenshot moved down, but not forgotten.
So now that I was pushed down from the 'leader screenshot', I realized that I have one picture contributed to the pack. Neeeeeeeeeevaaaaaaaaaah you must be amaaaaaaaaaaazed
Or...shocked. Maybe not shocked. Exited? No? Pleasantly surprised? Perhaps?
Okay, you'll be surprised to find that they are, indeed, pictures. I think. Maybe?
Whatever, here they are.
Since you already showed all of the block in your own special screenshot, I went for trying to catpure minecraft's ambiance. I like to think I did okay!
"Wow, these are pictures! I thought they were just blocks of text, but they're actually pictures! Images! Graphic material! I've never heard of such a thing!"

@Axapez: grabbed three of your screenshots... and removed windowsguys' most outdated ones.
This "gargamal" seed, it's like a map editor. Correct? (I've seen some videos about it.)
On another note, so as far as this pack stands, I finally made it as one of the 50 most viewed topics in the texture packs forum, so you can now find it on the first page! XD
When you select to generate a new world, you can now choose the seed to base it off of (basically the values used to determine the world, in short) - the shown one is 'gargamel.'

(that would actually make a good trap in multi-player. *BOOM*)

ME, NEED, SEED!
If I had to guess, I would guess "gargamel" is the seed.
I love the contrast between the stone and dirt in this picture/texture pack.
That is the Gargamel seed, and am DL the pack atm, looks great!
