Yeah, that looks rather nice. Maybe just a hair lighter, though (just a tiny bit).
What I meant by the water's brightness is (uh...) this:
The water is semi-transparent, right? So you can think of it as stained glass, almost. When you look through water now, anything behind it appears darker, right? Yeah. (these diagrams are on a horizontal plane)
(area wher things appear darker)
Right now, you can only see through around four or five blocks of water before the dark color of the water obscures everything and makes it impossible to see.
(you can't see past this point due to the murky color of water)
What I'd like to see was something like this, where the shade of the water doesn't interfere with vision nearly as much. (vision a bit obscured) (you can't see past this point)
^Make sense?
Also, making paintings more clear would be nice - they could be the same as before, just with the image possible to see.
This sounds awesome!
I've been wanting my underwater water color to match the water texture color, but it's not possible by means of texture packs. It'd be awesome if there was a mod to make it match.
I'm sort of lukewarm on BetterGrass. BetterLight however is a must have mod for me now. Unfortunately the latest iteration of the mod is bugged and basically requires BetterGrass.
I'd recommend giving the mod a shot. Some people have noticed a performance hit (I haven't on any of my machines) and others have had issues getting the patcher to run at all. But in general, it's a pretty easy installation, especially on PCs
The good thing about the mod is that it's not texture pack dependent, so you don't really need to support it.
Then I guess for now I will support Wildgrass, with my version of grass to be included. :biggrin.gif:
The lightness of the water is perfect (just give it a better hue), but don't use that lava - it looks just like real lava, but the lava you have now is so perfect.

To add to that statement, animating the Albion lava would be a nightmare! Water is more like water, but with an ocean-like hue it should be perfect!
In my opinion, a greenish hue wouldn't work very well. For a scientific reason, bodies of water only turn green if there is no current for a long period of time with very few fish, causing algae to build up in mass. Most lakes in minecraft are not only too big to get the algae build-up for it, but they are shallow enough that animals and stuff would walk through it and disrupt it, thereby eliminating the algae causing the green. Not to mention, there's obviously a ton of fish in every body of water (a never ending amount), so the algae would be under control.
Plus, nobody wants green waterfalls and such, and you can't specify what's green or not. Keep it clear blue, please. At most, give it a veeeeeeeeeeery slight green tint for aesthetic measures, but not enough to make it turquoise or anything.

An ever so slight green... but very very slight. Clear, bluish water will be the dominant color of the water texture.
I also feel like the Diamond texture needs some sprucing up, along with the stone. They both lack a texture that can flow with itself like my edited bedrock.
DAM IT, WHY AM I ALWAYS THE 2ND PERSON? 1 POST AFTER 200, 1 POST AFTER PAGE 11 (or 12), and I'm guessing 1 post after 1337 T_T
It may say 300 posts, but in actuality its 301 posts, counting myself. So... if you want to be the first person on the next page you should either comment more (with good reason) and or wait for when the post count is 360 on this thread or 359 on "your posts", then strike!
I'm starting to get the feeling that talk of changing water has degenerated into "you should add the ________ mod!" Considering that this is a work in progress texture pack, why not wait until after it's not under heavy development to start going nuts with mods?

As of now, I only intend to add the Wildgrass support. No other mod is necessary at the moment.

I was talking to bonemouse who suggested my water be more green. If he was talking to CptCorn, then my bad.

I believe he was talking to me in agreement to make the water more ocean-like, which in his response is to make it more green.
I will do what it takes to bring better water regardless... Think of the ocean, think of the creek, think of the swimming pool, think of the pond... every body of water will be considered for this new water texture. It will be released by screenshot or update and then must go through the Axapez standard as well as general opinion.

Since we're talking about water, I'd like to show you mine. And lava too, while we're at that.
1080p pictures, so click to enlarge.
These screenshots are a week old btw. My tree leaves don't look like that anymore.
This sounds awesome!

Curse PremiumI am impressed with your lava and water textures. Where did you get such epic looking lava and water?
I'd like to test them out for myself. :smile.gif:
The water and lava are downsampled from Albion HD
You can get the textures from my texture pack :biggrin.gif:

Curse PremiumWhatever works, I guess. XD
PS: 12 is my favorite number. (hence this is page 12)
EDIT:

Bumping this to the past, from the future. In order to gain the votes of the present.
:3
And, the only problem is the lakes. Most lakes are crystal clear or muddy, so a greenish tint would only work, say, if we had seaweed...

Curse PremiumI see no need to add this mod, but your concern is greatly appreciated.
