i love this texture pack it's really great but when i got tekkit for 1.5.2 i look at the water and it says missing texture. Anybody know why? i looked all over youtube and people do have Coterie Craft with tekkit. Any help would be good.
It seems that my days hosting Coterie Craft at Planet Minecraft are over...
*Left Planet Minecraft, Returned to Minecraft Forums*
Coterie Craft has been permanently removed from Planet Minecraft, for lack of pure originality (since I have my roots in Quandary, despite all efforts since then). Therefore, Coterie Craft will be hosted here at MCF, like old times.
It's quite unfortunate, seeing as I've attained 1.5 million views and 700k downloads there. So all that is gone, and my fanbase will have to find me here, hopefully. It's against the rules to make a public announcement to my subscribers, but an announcement in the forums would not work, even if the rules are okay with that.
So... I've been kind of stressed trying to work around this, and there is currently no way around it for the life of me, but maybe it's nice to be back to Minecraft Forums. If it doesn't work out here in the Minecraft Forums, then it might be high time for me to discontinue this pack... and I don't want that to happen.
I wish I could make an argument against them, but all attempts to do so have failed. And I don't know if I want to make a case against the main developer of that website, whose name is Cyprezz... because maybe it's better that my pack stays on MCF anyway.
Planet Minecraft seems to have a policy that goes against legacy packs like mine, unless you have made plenty of textures from scratch... which is something I had only done rarely, because many textures didn't need to be changed - they weren't broken! I had quality, I had the rights and support of the original owners, and I had the independence to call it my own when it no longer looked like the original Quandary Pack, to which every person that I have credited has supported me for doing so!
Planet Minecraft isn't a place to find quality texture packs, unless the majority of that quality is completely from scratch. So good luck finding legacy packs, or continuation packs, or remix packs, or video-game based packs, but as for those simple packs (many of which are crappy) and all other quality packs that lie about their originality - oh, those packs are going to be fine. It's all black and white to me...
Still, Planet Minecraft is a beautiful site, and I love the way it's organized and the amazing things that get posted on there, at times. I'm just disappoint that my 1.5 million views and 700k downloads are no longer on record, as if I've never earned it after all this time. I also worry for all the permissions I gave to others to use my textures, those people are well within range to be removed from the site too, unless they pump out a bunch of original textures to weigh things out.
It's absurd... because it is the wish of so many retired texture packers to promote and preserve their work... but if the majority of it is not yours, PMC can take it away from you, and the original packers suffer, their fans suffer, and the texture pack community suffers!
I hope someone can tell me that MCF doesn't have similar rules...

Hi Cpt. Corn,
I was worried too when you pmc entry disappeared....
good to see your still ailve and kicking ;D
I haven't looked yet but a change log on the 1st post is great to have thx
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
*If you want me to see your post please quote me, thx* I decided to add this in too because (overloaded Mail box lol)
I'm glad to see you're still here. I've used Coterie for about half the time I've been playing minecraft. In fact I almost need it in order to play now. It's the best texture pack out there in general in my opinion and it's the one I recommend when asked. People have thought I was using an HD texture pack a few times. They were shocked to discover that it'a 16x16 texture pack.

Keep fightin the good fight.
That is Coteriecraft know for ;). Yep. We will keep fighting, for sure
Shame that the pack was removed from PMC.
I could have sworn that they allowed packs like that so long as you had explicit permission from the authors whose textures you are using.
Still, glad to see that the pack is not dead, just moved to another site I use regularly
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The official Bluebird continuation is underway! Please come and help keep the pack alive!
Luckyly not ;D
Only PMC started to make stupid rules. Copyright rules, while you have all permissions.
It's not really copyright rules, they were originality rules. If your pack is not composed of mostly your own textures, by scratch, then you are not welcome to use anyone else's textures, even if you have been given their permission and support. Apparently I didn't have enough 'original' textures, despite my attempts to make ExtraNoise's work as eye-pleasing as possible over the years.
I've always been a big fan of this resource pack. Everything just blends in so well. One of these days, I might try editing my own custom coterie textures for world-gen from a few of the mods I use.
Hmmm I know you may not read this but let me take the time to say...since I first started playing Minecraft in 1.2.5 - Texture packs that were close to the original were my favorite. I used to use Faithful...and I still do, but Coterie has become my main "Resource Pack" now.
It matches the many mods I use.
You are THE God of packs! This is exactly what I have been looking for (i've been using it for about a month, but whatever)! It's so smooth and default looking, even with a 16x16 texture, it's amazing! If I had the money I would donate sooo much to you!

Their PMC rule.
7.1.2Edited Content
When you are modifying a work that was created by someone else, you absolutely must follow the guidelines below. Failure to do so will be treated as stolen content and will result in the removal of the submission and a ban placed on your account. Follow the guidelines below if you would like to create a modified version of someone else's work. Modified work is not allowed in any form in the Skin section, regardless of the following guidelines.
All modified content must have the permission of the original creator to modify or use the work. Proof must be provided at the top of the submission and be either specific to you, or broad towards all users in the community. Stating who originally made the work is not permission, and you are never allowed to post someone else's work on their behalf, regardless of permission.
You must change a significant portion of the work. The general rule of thumb is that if it is not very obvious that the creation is different, the item is not allowed. This also includes changes made to your own submissions such as multiple colors of the same skin, which should all be loaded to the same submission.
As if it was not enough work we did. I don't think we broke this rule did we?
7.1.1Unoriginal Content
The following list is a partial list of different ways of creating content that are not original work. Interpretation of these items is based on the consensus of the mod team and will be used if there is confusion.
Generating content with a program
Tracing an existing work
Using parts of an existing work in your own work, also called remixing
Then this rule goes against the other rule what is quite strange.
Still I don't think it was a real rulebreaking texturepack and it was aswell one of their most popular texturepacks. What is quite sad for them. But that is their problem. Futher I don't know anyways what PMC rules are newer than the texturepack, because I think this is one of the oldest texturepacks.
Okay enough talked about that. Lets talk about the next update:

Well whomever was in charge had evaluated my pack, and deemed it's content as a violation of the rules. Not even sure if I care anymore. In fact, I welcome the change now that I have adjusted to Curse, and have actually made some money from its Reward Point system, which is quite nice.
However, I don't know what to do with the money ($10 Amazon gift card), so I was thinking of giving it to you, karst, or Ganlolde. But... there's also the possibility I could hold some sort of contest with this as the prize?
