So, for this weekend I've been focusing on biomes for the most part. I've done a LOT of research and testing in order to yield the data that I've been eager to present to you.
The first image below is, obviously, the biome wheel that can be identified as "grasscolor.png" and has been used since biomes were first incorporated in Minecraft. This biome wheel offered a gradience of colors that blended respectfully across the grassy landscape, and if you wanted to, you could change the color of this file, with or without noise, to create your own seasonal gradience of grass color. Not only that, but the same also applies to the tree leaves as affiliated with the second image in a file called "foliagecolor.png," which follows the same, exact context as the grasscolor.png. That was, however, until after Beta 1.8 came out...
Now, the biomes have been reduced to the simplest of representations. No longer do we have a gradience of color that can be adhered to the landscape, but rather a handful of pixels. Every white dot that you see before you is the very pixel that represents the color of the specific biome (it sure wasn't easy for me to find them, if you can imagine). There are, in fact, 10 biomes according to the wiki. But, in actuality, there are only 9 options of color that can be diagnosed to the 10 individual biomes, specific to the landscape. If you can account for the grass color that is given to the grass block found in creative mode, which isn't present within the landscape, there would be a total of 11 biomes. But since the Taiga and the Ice Plains (Tundra) use the same pixel to represent their biome, we only have 10 color codes that we can manipulate.
The following image discerns each biome/color code accordingly:
Note: The Swampland biome actually has a purple color overlay that conflicts with the color that is given (which explains why Swampland is considered to look "ugly"). The specific color ID is written in conjunction to the white and black color that was given. Also, if you didn't already know, the color of the tree leaves from both birch trees and pine trees are unaffected by the biome wheel entirely, as their color is overlaid with a traditional green.
When I have time, perhaps not until the 3-day weekend this week, I will be making an effort to deliver the perfect ounce of color to each biome, especially the Swampland. Of course, I could also work on developing seasonal biomes, but I would only do so if you are willing to download a Beta version of them, as I intend to change the color of most of the terrain instead of just the grass and trees and their textures. So, would you like Beta seasons or wait for a full release?... it's really up to you. Excluding Coterie RPG, that's still being developed, awaiting release upon completion.
I just have to say that this is my absolute favorite texture pack. Evey other texture pack out there tries to change things too much. This provides some small tweaks that, in my opinion, make the game look so much better. Thank you for this texture pack!

Your very welcome!
It's comments like these that make us proud in our work; and reminds us as to why you guys like it, most of all. Though I can tell you that we appreciate criticism just as much as praise, if not more. So if you feel like there's anything we can improve, don't hesitate to let us know.
And if there is one thing I should do more often, I should give more "likes" or reps on comments that I happen to like and/or approve. xD I think I disregarded that feature for the longest time.
awesome, been wonderin' how to do this for a while. thx cap'n
for the boime color thing (thought it was a different forum topic)
btw this is my fave texture pack, the only one i ever use.
Hey I absolutely love your texture pack except for one thing... The color of lamps! They are blue instead of yellow and also dont seem to give off as much light as in other texture packs. Is there a way for me to change the color in game?
Color doesn't change the amount of light emitted... just how it looks to you.
You can change the texture yourself - tutorials exist in this very forum.

They were two different points... I didnt like the color & I thought the amount of light emitted seemed low. Thanks for the tip though about changing the texture, I'll look around

Curse PremiumWow! That's an awesome screenshot! No doubt that's goin' up on the hosting site.
If you would like to provide more screenshots, I would definitely appreciate it!
Hmm... and I should probably update CTM by next week, seeing as to how it's using an old glass texture.
