I'm not sure what looks different, I LIKED Doku...or as I thought of it...Zelda World textures; but they were never 'right' for me. This somehow looks different, more toonish without being over-the-top. The only thing I don't dig are the dirt and grass, looks like carpet on dirt Lincoln Logs (which is hard for me to wrap my head around).
Something I might use if there ever is a way (when mod functionality is expanded) to tie texture pack to maps. I like where it is going.
Yea, I agree with ya. How would you like the dirt and grass to look like?
I used to be stupid, go away. This account is invalid, go away. I was like 9 when i was into this sort of stuff, go away. COD is an abomination, go away. Become ignorant of this account, go away.
Haha, sorry. Most of the focus has been on developing the RPG pack. :tongue.gif:
Okay, a job for ya... find the best cobblestone texture you can find... and see if you'd like us to fix its flaws and make it the best cobble for Coterie. :wink.gif:
So... my Winter Break ended yesterday, so its back to the grind. However, with me being back at school, I don't think that it will affect my efforts in Coterie Craft as much as it did in the past; or, at least, I hope so.
Its been quite a fun break, nonetheless... and I hope your break was wonderful as well! But I'm a bit disappoint as I didn't release as many updates as I thought. Although that may be the case, the RPG pack is looking good thus far... so I'm still glad we managed to get some work done. Yet, I feel guilty for dividing my attention in the matter, to be honest...
But if there's anything that is going to delay this pack, as I might be taking a break, its SKYRIM. Very fun (and addicting!) game, my two brothers and I have been playing it for the past three. I wonder how long it will be before I "finish" the game.
Oh, and one more thing... I'm single. Its quite unfortunate that she and I aren't together, but its for the best. We are still great friends with each other, so there's no shame in that... no hard feelings; its all good. :wink.gif: And its always nice to spend time with her, nevertheless, even if its as a friend. I suppose, if I wanted to, I could elaborate my heart ache towards love in general within a spoiler, but this is not the place to do it, I suppose. Maybe some other time. :tongue.gif:
...and as if I haven't said enough in one post, I'd also like to share with you guys my words a wisdom that I wrote about a week ago:
Silence itself is never alone. Naturally, it is often accompanied with ambiance or clamor without a moment's notice. Sometimes, silence is the loudest thing we may ever hear. It then becomes a shame that many of us are not always willing to listen...
[,including myself.]
We cannot speak for silence, and so, it deserves our utmost respect. To give silence is the greatest respect we can give, but only when we ask of it. If someone wants to be alone, we can only hope that silence is the greatest friend they can ask for. And if it is not, in all truth, then we must be their greatest friend and accompany them, like silence itself. ♥
Yes, no. I like them less saturated. I don't want my world to be cartoony. If you are talking about vanilla...well that may be biome related issue, which I would agree with. I'm waiting for the API stuff to settle down before I go modding too much and livening up the biomes and giving them more character is top on my to-do list. Second on the list is figuring out how.
This is my favorite texture pack :biggrin.gif:
Only concern: Add Obsidian tools mod?
I would give you a piece of advice, do it yourself. I just started making a mod a permanent part of my world, Better Then Buildcraft. I like how it adds improvements but tiers them in a way that you actually have to work hard to achieve advancement....
Anywho, my point. I was tempted to request for him to think about the Better Than Wolves part, since the textures there are really quite in-line with vanilla. (The buildcraft part, not so much). But instead did some looking and found Paint.net (a program) and was able to tweak the textures (and copy directly from this pack, matching wood and such) so they work with this texture pack. And it really was pretty easy and fun to do.
This points to one of the reasons why I like this pack, it's close enough to vanilla that I can mimic the style for things based off of vanilla. Next I'm going to try my hand at the Buildcraft part (when I actually use it in my world) that will take much more thought and tweaking to make it 'fit'
I have found it very rewarding, without knowing what obsidian tools does...I would think (by the name) it would be fairly simple process to adapt them to CCP's textures.
Mind giving a download link? We might just implement the textures for mod compatibility, since it's not a major goal right now. It's always good to have texture makers on our side :biggrin.gif:

Oye, texture maker is a stretch, but yeah I can...if I can find a place where I can just drop it. Not going to register on a website that I'm going to use twice in my life.

Aiet, will try that. Been working on the pack a little more to 'jazz' it up a bit. I can tell the author is more involved in the technical part than the art area.
As for vividness...I've found biome mods to help. BiomeColors v2.0 by Scokeev9 seems to be the one that is being kept up to date. This seems to be more of a factor than the textures themselves. I'm not sure what it actually changes, but it's more than a retex of the biome color palatte, but it doesn't change how the biomes 'look' just somehow changes how they transition...
not using it now because:
Problem for me is nothing I want to use work together. I also think better grass and snow helps with the character of the landscape, but Optifine (which has the 'better' stuff in it) doesn't work with the biome colorizer. I tried to separate the better grass/snow out of it or find an updated version, but no dice. I also tried to remove the conflicting parts...even less dice.
So I might go down the road of modding myself to get things to work. But in the meantime I've dropped them to just focus on the textures for the BTB(BTW) mod that I'm using, hoping that the Mojang supported API will make things friendlier.

It wasn't as epic as yours, but it was astonding.
Would dreaming of you knowing that you were dreaming count as a lucid dream? :S

Dull?
I've been playing Alpha 1.2.6 lately, and well, the textures were vivid.
Now, comparing to 1.0.0, it's bland.
I made a slight vivider pack by adding contrast, but that won't do.

No problem...
But I helped you on September 30...
That's over 4 months ago...

Highly recommend MediaFire.
