are you ever gonna get around to changing the cobble textures n stuffs?
We'll see... eventually, of course. Sometimes I just have too much on my plate that I didn't plan for when I make a promise to you guys... I acknowledge I haven't been as true to my word as I'd hoped to be, I find it unfortunate I haven't been able to focus on this project for quite some time. My brother actually has had more time to work on the pack than I do currently. So... if I have a free weekend this week, then I'll focus on the priority that we all know of.
If you want xLakota, or anyone else for that matter, I would like to see your hand at pixel art (but not at a dramatic file size, keep the resolution a minimum) so then I can refine it for Plethora or Coterie.
Because the Aether is actually outdated! Other things like the support for MC 1.9 Pre 5 have more priority.
The mod itself is overrated, overstuffed, and has limited my rights as a texture packer with all the color overlays that they impose. The aether has potential, but the mod didn't do it with justice... we are lacking a true aether.
There are also many indications from the developers of the mod that prove that the mod was actually made in a ones month's time (when they claim the mod was created in 5 laborious months), that they say that the Aether suggestions were "boring" like the Nether dimension (when many believe just the opposite), that they claim that the dungeons, reward system(loot), mobs were all made from scratch (when most of the coding belongs to Mojang's work and quite possibly from other modders), they claim that they are better than Notch (when it was Notch that saved them a whole bunch of their time when he fixed the lighting bug when he was working on his own sky-dimension).
These claims are part of the research my brother has conducted for quite awhile. Eventually, we'll formally release an article within this topic so that the people may acknowledge the developers' exaggerations and injustices, with sources cited, of course.
Correlating to this, to a certain extent, I'd like to also inform you of my future plans for Coterie Craft. I understand that no real development has been made for the last few weeks... for I have been unable to do so given that my senior year in high school has given me more assignments and projects compared to 1st quarter of the school year, and that on top of this, I must also be on track with what will amount to my future in college. Anyways, when my agenda has been taken care of with which will reward me with the consequential freedom of the weekend, then development of Coterie Craft will commence, at long last!
There is no clear definition of "Coterie Craft" that many can know of. From my recollection, "Coterie" represented my contributors who brought this pack to the light with their constructive criticisms and support... without them, I probably would have never have gone this far. Whereas, "Craft" was the product of the "Coterie."
I certainly miss the old supporters of my pack... a long absence. There was once a standard to my pack, called the Axapez standard, where Axapez had listed his criticisms towards the pack and I would fix them... Essentially, people come and go in my thread... some would offer a donation at times, but I couldn't accept their generosity, not yet anyways. Sometimes I wonder if they will come back some time or another... when the time that Coterie Craft has approached the perfection I have aimed for... but in any matter, I welcome anyone and everyone to the thread to speak their mind and act as the "Coterie" of my "Craft" that is still in progress. The process is still in effect, and I thank all who have given their contributions to the pack one way or another... but compared to the past the only difference from all this are my limitations to the time I have towards developing the pack. In actuality, my brother has had more time texturing than I normally do, but he occasionally lacks the power to create new textures, for which is something that I can accomplish with much more accuracy.
Anyways, my plans towards the pack... I wish to extend the means of "Coterie" and "Craft" by allowing these concepts to consumable means. In the main topic, although I like to refer it to the OP (original post), I want to restructure it... unlike the New OP that I have raved about in the past, there is far more purpose in this effort. "Coterie" will be known for going outside the means of a normal texture pack. When the concept of "Craft" acts as the downloadable product going out of its way for the goal of creating a look that Minecraft deserves to have, the "Coterie" aspect of the OP will reveal what Minecraft should be as a game, by displaying a suggested future for the game from game dynamics to formulating true, unexaggerated achievements to new, iconic mobs to extracting the brilliance from some mods that could be incorporated into Minecraft, ect... all coming from the ideas of the people and I! At the same time, I may also want to give certain mods, skins, ect. the spotlight they deserve if they happen to be underappreciated within another section of the OP (but only if it becomes apparent that they are lacking a well-deserved audience). I want to see Coterie Craft go outside the means of just texturing Minecraft... I want to represent a community with collective innovation.
Uhh, weren't you making a Halloween entry? If so, where is it?
Schoolwork, college stuff, life, etc. took over as a priority. There was no possible way I could have been able to submit an entry, nor could I work on my own pack given these factors. If anything, the contest has given me some inspiration for a pack unrelated to the Halloween season, but tells a story, which like any good story, I will give no spoilers... not even a hint, being that the project might be delayed entirely.
There shouldn't even be a weekly content contest. They should at least give it a month or three weeks, at the least, in order to make a decent texture pack theme...

Is mindblowing. If you modify it with such definition, you shall truly be, one of the best of the Texture Packers.
There's a big blue link in the first post called "Central Download." Click it. On that page, look for the shiny orange buttons on the right hand side, also conveniently labeled "Download".

haha work on your own time, don't let texture packs get in the way of more important things silly :tongue.gif:. with that said the cobblestone could use a change but it doesn't necessarily need to be done anytime soon lol minecraft will always be here. :wink.gif:

Maybe I just need to plan my time a little better... its been 3 weeks and I haven't worked on any development. :/
And I really want to make new cobble and cake... its been TOO LONG! But life comes first, always! xD
Could work on implementing the idea I posted on the customizer's page... not trying to sound pushy, but yeah, it's something to do. Also, as always, still one of my favorite texture packs ever!
Yeah, You always have your (somewhat)reliable brother to do the textures while you're caught up in stuff!
For Coterie, its mostly my work... delayed, of course. But as for Plethora, my brother has not hesitated to deliver new color tones and Coterie-polished designs from other packs... for he has contributed to almost all of the content in Plethora; so we now have 758 textures! (including a green chicken) Unfortunately, I haven't seen him develop any new and original textures, which are essential for Coterie. :/
But hey, there's 3-day weekend coming up, so hopefully I'll get time to update Coterie! Except... there's also one other thing that I want to participate in at the same time, the Steampunk Skin Contest at PMC! :cool.gif:

would a different biome coloration graph thingy be possible for plethora? maybe one slightly grey-er or possibly brown/yellow grass in deserts instead of orange, also, different water would be nice, possibly a silty, salty, water.
1 last thing, a yogscast-style jaffa cake cake and a yogscast style iron block, maybe with a few pixels of rust every here & there. (you can get a good look at their iron in shadow of israphel: the deepcore.

If you tell me Redstone is useless, boy I will kick your butt.
I say we have a competition, to have the community involved. They could send their own, original design for the new texture via email to me and I could filter out the OK ones and send you the epicer ones. Winner would get a unique banner?
Working on new cobblestone currently... let's see how it turns out when its finished. :wink.gif:
Anyways, I wanted to talk about a new mob before I forget the idea entirely...
It was a long time since I've played Minecraft, my twin bro (not my bro who works on the pack) and I have been playing Terraria for some time. I haven't played Terraria much at all, to be honest, but all this is beside the point, the new mob has nothing to do with Terraria... though I do have some ideas affiliated with Terraria, not that I need to go into detail.
Anyways, its been a long time since I've been on Minecraft... so, getting back to texturin' and all, I needed to go to one of my creative worlds and test the texture that I've been developing. So, I'm at the world, and then I immediately get freaked out by the orange-pink glow to the very right of my screen, it looked like big glowing eyes were rushing into me from above! But it turns out it was just the sunset blocked by a few pine trees that generated the image. So that gave me an idea... what if some mob rushed into ya for a single attack when the last bit of sunlight remained in the distance, just to startle ya... in the sense that its telling you that the monsters are coming. Come to think of it, this mob sounds a lot like Paul Revere on his horse telling you that the British are coming! But essentially, it doesn't just waltz into your path and tell ya the monsters are coming, think of it as a wolf, a ghost, or a flying mob from the distance... rushing into you as the sun goes down, giving you some hurt for "getting in its way," then rushing just as fast as it goes away, then arriving again when another sunset arrives. The only logical way to kill this mob is to anticipate its arrival, then ambushing it with arrows. Once its killed, it doesn't come back (since we don't want players to get annoyed every sunset)... but it may drop some goodies.
I've been using this texture pack for as along as I can remember. Its by far the best texture pack out there in my opinion. I look forward to more updates.
