I am having an extremely frustrated time trying to create another poll.
Apparently when I create a new poll, the options from the last poll won't stop showing up. The poll I intend to have looks just how I wanted it to be when I preview it, but when its submitted... there are ten options from the earlier poll as well as the recent attempts.
v1.6 ---(2/13/2011)
-Added WildGrass support
-Added edited painterly water with animations.
-Added personally designed lava with animations: (192 frames for both animations!)
>custom_lava_flowing animations based from Painterly's custom_water_flowing
I have them in there, I just didn't feel like naming them.
Oh and, it's nice to be here again. Once mid-winter break comes (next week), I'll get more halp with you!
That Custom lava and water must be Nether* to get past!

Be sure to use the HD patcher if you are going to see the custom water/lava
My favorite packs have been Brown and Bloom, John Smith, Painterly, and Quandary. But I most often came back to Quandary because it didn't seem to ever have TOO much detail. There was always something in the other packs that felt overdone and I would find distracting.
Although I miss the seasons, it may be better to wait for Minecraft to do that itself. So I am happy to see this pack continued with it's spirit intact.
Now for my take on textures:
Likes
-Stone/cobble/half-block-- seem perfect to me. They mesh well, and I like the brick style without severe contrast.
-Nether-- Less of an opinion about this since I don't go there often, and I think the place itself needs more work, but the textures work. I prefer this packs glowstone. (and lava is cool).
-Plants-- much more interesting to me, work well. And trees.
-Items-- love the lava bucket and all in all everything else. Some might not like the 'blah' dyes but I kind of prefer them standardized.
Dislikes (barely)
-Cloth-- I think it needs more texture, pretty sure I read others mentioning it and I agree. Prefer without boarders like I see some packs do.
-Birch bark-- little too subtle for me, makes these trees seem bland. Look more like mummy wrappings to me than birch bark.
-Sandstone(side texture)-- I really like the one from Quandary, similar to cobble. That said, my only opinion is that a stronger distinction between sandstone and sand...but not as strong as the Quandary one. I'd like to see a similar style to the cobble, but maybe a little more distinct instead of just color change. Possible example being thinner style bricks.
Dunnos
-Dirt / grass -- I don't know what to say about dirt. I think the grass placement is perfect, distant hills don't look like dirt piles, so I like that. But I don't know if it seems too busy to me or what. I'm not sure what would look better to me while staying true to the pack.
-Ice-- I like the ice design but the color seems too much of a contrast with the bright blue water. I like Painterly's ice color but it's too busy and translucent. But it does pull off the look of a dusting of snow on ice so if that's the idea then I guess it works. I find the bluer ice more attractive, but I won't loose sleep over it.
-Iron/gold/diamond blocks-- More of a curiosity, I know they are broken right now so not much reason to work on them, but was curious if you are done with them.
-Gravel-- Maybe a little lighter, maybe. Also, to me when I think of natural gravel I think of larger 'pieces'. Minecraft gravel looks like it's been ground up some, which would I guess make it look a little lighter with less dark 'holes'. That said, working with 16x16 I don't know how you'd do that and not make it look too much like Minecraft cobble.
All that said, this pack is by far my current favorite. TY.

Now THAT made my day! XD
A review like that is worth a chest full of diamonds!
Okay, let's break it down:
-The 'blah' dyes I plan to give them a tune-up, keeping them standardized at the same time.
-Wool will have more texture. But so much so that it will be able to be used for carpeting, creative structures and a nice bedspread.
-Birch bark is tricky... but I plan to make it look like birch, but with the capability to be seamless with surrounding birch blocks.
-Sandstone! Oh yes... sandstone. I have plans to make it a 4-layer elongated brick texture without it being so smooth. More like the long lost sandstone texture bonemouse made which was shear brilliance!... though all it needed was to match my color scheme sand's color scheme.
-If Notch made the side grass biome-compliant, then Quandary's worries would be over.
-Ice may need a couple touch-ups... hoping that the ice can correspond correctly with both the default and custom water.
-Diamond needs more texture. Something similar to Pixeludi's would be the right idea. Gold and Iron blocks are fine as they are, unless I wanted to get in depth of what iron and gold looks realistically, but then that is not priority as of the moment.
-Gravel is easier to see as black as it is, but perhaps giving it a lighter tone and coarser look may do the job. But then you might also have to consider what a meter cubed of gravel looks like...
So I've been working on mod support for Quandary...
I've got a bunch of Mo' Creatures retextured. Since this pack uses (mostly) the default mobs, it's not really relevant.
However! I have been slowly editing the original Quandary weapons into new weapons for MeleeWeaponsPlus and since Reborn uses the same item textures, I thought people might be interested.
Broadswords (formally just 'Swords'), Scimitars, Maces, and Daggers.
Still need to do: Battleaxes, Labrys, and Kukris.
I'm also planning on doing support for BetterSkies and would like to use Reborn's sun as an optional texture. I'll include one version as-is and one scaled up so people can have giant blazing suns. Cpt. Corn, was that your handy work?
The 32x32 steampunk pack? And if so, did you use the HD patcher?
Apparently when I create a new poll, the options from the last poll won't stop showing up. The poll I intend to have looks just how I wanted it to be when I preview it, but when its submitted... there are ten options from the earlier poll as well as the recent attempts.
Anyone got any experience with this?
That was it, I got it working now.
Thanks, bonemouse. Good to know the problem is solved. :biggrin.gif:
Many thanks. :biggrin.gif:
This pack will be amplified!
Edit: Update coming soon... perhaps sometime on the 13th of February
Wool as in carpeting, maybe...
Wool as in decorative patterns, not a chance.
I hope you like the lava for v1.6 when it comes out.

Good to see ya Master7432! Yes, photos!
Though if you could get a couple of pics of the custom lava and water, that would be great!

What would you like instead if that were the case?
