I wasn't wanting to necessarily draw comparisons with Star Wars, in case it caused offence, but that's what they put me in mind of too. Also the racer 'thingies' in the 'Phantom Menace' movie.
Horse sounds will have to be changed for exhaust bangs, grinding noises and hums, etc. Then when you wallop them with a spanner they'll give an appropriate hi-(or futuristic lo) tech noise.
They're going to look hilarious jostling around tethered up in the parking area.
On my "I'd like to do it if.." list (see above discussion re conditions of my working on stuff) is making two companion resource packs. One that changes the language files so that Strawberries are not named Wheat and another that does the sounds. (And maybe adds some extra ones since apparently we can do that now?)
Changing the language file is much more likely to happen than the sound one because I haven't the foggiest about how to go about that. I'm not a sound guy.
They're called podracers. And I bet they'll look awesome in MC.
I really need to get my wife to hop on my test server so I can get some shots of her zipping around on one of these.
---
Oh and I've uploaded a snapshot ready version of Mooncraft. Both to my server and to curse. Let me know if you guys run into any issues or horribly broken textures. (I've got extra reasons for wanting Mooncraft to look good right now. I'll say more about that on Monday.)
(I already know that the glass panes look off but that's due to how Mojang is rendering the top and bottom edges of them. I'm hoping that's just a bug, I need to check the bug reporting tool to see if it's there yet.) Development Download

I've downloaded, and looking forward to testing as part of my Sat. night downtime. Yes! I like to party hard!
Although I have a good microphone and have used some sound editing software a few times, I'm completely in the dark with regard to Minecraft sounds. More a case that I have enough on my plate perfecting (or trying to perfect) my textures first. Most sounds I'm happy with, but things like mobs could be up for some fun recordings including the music/environmental sounds.
I'm expecting that any new samples added to Minecraft will put it under even more strain, lagwise.

We housesit regularly for people who own chickens and the in-game sounds NOTHING like real live chickens. We keep talking about finding a way to record them and stick that sound in game. We just don't know how. (Also, they've only 1 pure white chicken out of 22. Chickens are mostly black.)

Hey! We have six chickens at the bottom of the garden...all six are different colours. Glad we don't have to look after 22 though! I agree, our hens sound nothing like Minecraft chickens. Mind you...ours don't sound like real chickens either! Must be down to what I feed 'em...perhaps we got fobbed off with ducks at the farm!
I got a little ZOOM H2N portable microphone last year and it's the best little piece of sound recording equipment for the price I've come across. Incredibly easy to use and the quality of sound recording, either for music, sound or ambient sound recording outside is superb. Batteries last an age and with a 32 gig card in it I don't feel limited for space recording WAV files. Can't recommend it enough...I just wish I had time to use the flippin' thing!
I've changed the look of the force fields to be a tad less seizure inducing. >_>
Now rather than flickering they pulse which is a bit easier on the eyes.
The development link should have this new version. I'll upload the pulsing version to Curse once I get a bit more feedback on it.

That is sooo pretty! Where did those diagonal struts come from though, they also look amazing!

Thank you! Those would be cobblestone stairs, the base is light gray stained clay, the smooth vertical and horizontal beams are spruce logs, the corners are sandstone, and the windows are the light blue stained glass.

Flip! That's a really clever optical illusion you've created there. The diagonal pattern on the sides of the cobblestone stairs completely fooled me into thinking the entire block was sloping!
I haven't tried your new force-field stained glass yet, but the old one still looks great to me, especially the panes.
I also spawned a few pod racer horses and one of them ended up in a tree...nothing new there then! I'm getting very tired of finding horses in trees all the time. However, your rocket/jet/plasma(?) bikes looked every bit as good as anticipated, and the accompanying horse sounds made me chuckle!
You're going to have to make a race circuit for the speeders and organize proper racing events.
Got the new logs, leaves, planks, and saplings in for Mooncraft.
From left to right they are: Jungle, Acacia, Large Oak, Spruce, Birch and Oak
Here are some shots showing some ways these can be used: Hydroponics Dome
(The gray tile floor is the Dark Oak plank texture and the rows of plants are birch and big oak leaves.)
Teleportation Chamber
(The back wall is the acacia wood, the floor acacia logs and the frame big oak logs and gold blocks. The sparkly bits are spider webs and they are animated in the game.)

Love the texture packs really cool and for mooncraft when you put armor on horses could you make it like the stained glass pains so it the horse with armor more like a holligram
also just wonder how should horses with armor look cuz i have 2 horses and they look differantly with the same armor

I tried that but it didn't turn out quite as expected. Fun fact, partial transparency sort-of works with horse armor. Rather than looking like a hologram, it wound up just shading the horse model. Even stranger, the little preview window when you have the tamed horse UI up actually shows the full armor texture resulting in 'holographic' horse bits. Needless to say I've got some work to do on this.

Just figured I'd mention that despite what it might show on the Curse download widget thing, Mooncraft is in fact updated for 1.7 on Curse. The whole reason it's not showing 1.7 is that Curse hasn't yet added that version to the list of ones you can pick when setting the properties for the pack. (Probably won't show the proper version till tomorrow even if they do add it to the options today as I think the forums only sync that info once a day.)
The rest of the packs will work with 1.7 but they dont't yet have all of the textures, so you will see the defaults for stuff like dyed clay and stained glass.
When I look at screenies from the 4x4 pack I keep thinking the blocks are just smaller Really cute!
Me too.

Quote from Azulywolf:
Dear Justin Bieber haters,
I owe my life to Justin.
On March 9th, 2013, I was in a coma for 6 months after a terrible car crash.
One day my nurse turned the radio to Justin’s song.
So I got up, and turned the radio off
"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade! Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down - with the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that'll burn your house down!"
I've updated simpletech for 1.7.x
I've added the two new plank textures and adjusted the colors of the other planks to be more in line with the default texture pack. (The color differences were causing some odd looking builds on my server.)
I've also added wood specific log end textures vastly improving the overall look of logs.
I made cleaned up tinted glass textures. They are almost identical to the defaults but with the streaking removed and a tad less transparent. (Basically they look brighter and bolder.)
Last but not least, after much debate and looking at various builds I've removed the stitching from the wool blocks in favor of a far more subtle edge pattern. It was a neat effect but it was way too visually distracting in larger builds. (That and it looked really odd on carpets.)
I also removed all of the default item textures that were still inside the .zip file. This should solve the issue of the baked and raw potato textures being flipped.

Curse PremiumHmm... I'm not seeing the texturepack forum thing so here is a direct link to it's page.
http://minecraft-bet...3633-simpletech
The curse page has several new screenshots showing off some of the new stuff.
Also, something I forgot to mention, horses are now MLP inspired ponies.
It takes a real man to ride a pink pony into the sunset.

Happy New year to you too Glimmar!
