thanks! sadly my files got deleted (again :C) so progress is a bit slow, im back to the original v5 so v6 will be delayed sorry, the good news is that some of the files were saved: mobs, gui and items so i havent lost all
i realy need tips on the items as im runnin out of ideas, right now they are monochromatic and boring, i need to liven them up, what do you people think of tools with weird shaped heads that look like proper tools by diamond? like a wooden sword is a stick with a plank nailed to it, and a diamond sword is a diamond longsword, its kinda hard to do in 16x16 but im gettin there, should i release a 32x32 version with enhanced detail? such as books in the bookshelfs actualy looking like books etc, the main bonus of a 32x32 version is i can do better items and smoother blocks etc, while keeping the Cube Craft feel
so yeah TL;DR : need item tips, better items ideas and should there be a 32x32 version of the pack?
Awesome.
Love the glass when it's next to wood.
I love almost everything-
I wish there was grid lines on the inventory,
and I think you should get rid of the light brown rectangle on the furnace.
Thats just my opinion.
:X
Props.

The goal of minecraft is to find a perfect sphere.
I personally wouldn't care for a 32x32 texture, while they can look great, the main reason I started using your pack was because it was 16x16 and what I was looking for. I don't care to muck around with the patchers and would rather just throw the zip file in the right folder and play. I'm sure others have different opinions :smile.gif:
yeah, i have decided to call off the 32x32 pack because it would be too dificult to add detail in a detail-less pack,
oh and the wooden thing on the furnace is a window, im gunna just remove it, grid lines on the inv etc is hard cos i will need to work out the area where the lines go between spaces, also did some searchin and my pack has not only been mentioned on youtube but also new grounds and was put in a guide on how to install textures so im happy
expect v6 to be out on the 13/2/11 (western australian time :biggrin.gif:)
v6 wont be big as other major updates but it should include:
-better items, this one is important, the current items suck.
-more mobs! i want to get atleast the cow and chicken done for v6 and hopefully spiders.
-PAINTINGS! did some work yesterday and have now got a fully edited kz.png the paintings are things like a creeper face and blocks, i even chucked in a pic of herobrine for the lulz
as i have said before v6 wont be a huge update but it will be a decent size
Wow, really nice sleek design. Sort of reminds me of the pokecraft texture pack, but the colours stand out more. Really diggin the colour of the brick and the simplicity of the torches. It's hard to find a texture pack that has such nice simple torches. Looks great. Full support from me, banner added to my sig. Keep up the good work iggy niggy!
First of all, I love this pack. It's one of my favorites, and I adore the theme.
That said, a few blocks looked out of place to me, so I made a few edits to my version. I will likely post it in a little while, once I finish birch trees, which are giving me some trouble (sorry, I luv ya but the birch trees weren't pretty). Anyway, what I've done so far:
Iron & Wood Doors: I kept the exact same design, but I added the cube patterned texture to them. Essentially, I took another block and recolored it to match the changes in color of the door block. don't worry, I actually did it properly, it looks like your door if you had applied the block texture. Brick & Sandstone: I felt like these two didn't look like the rest of the pack, so I recolored the cobblestone texture with the colors used on these blocks to make new textures. Now, Cobblestone, Mossy Cobblestone, Sandstone and Brick blocks can all be tiled together, allowing for interesting patterns. (Plus, the larger bricks make sense, seeing as a brick block is made of 4 bricks and sandstone is 4 pieces of sand.)
As a side note, I am playing with the alternate Mossy Cobblestone, because it fits more with the changes I've made. Ice: Pretty simple, I changed ice from a solid color to being cube-patterned like most blocks. I made no changes to the opacity, so there are no errors with transparency. Leaves: I made a new leaf texture from scratch, though using the same basic shades of gray on yours. I themed it around square-shaped leaves of varying size, constructing it from leaves rather than cutting holes in a solid block. Currently, Pine needles look like my leaves because I copied the new leaves to both places by accident. I have both fast and fancy versions. Birch Wood: Not entirely pleased with this yet, what I have now is a recolored rotated version of the standard tree trunk, it looks better (IMO) than before but I don't like it yet. Ironically, this is the block I originally intended to be the only one I would edit. Redstone: One of my favorite edits to this great pack, I designed redstone dust to actually look like square-themed redstone dust. Using three different shades of red each for unpowered and powered redstone, I designed a powderlike collection of scattered, overlapping squares which not only look like redstone, but fit wonderfully with the rest of the pack. I'm sorry, but being a frequent redstone user, I couldn't have redstone be a solid bar, not in a pack in which it could easily look wonderful. Particles: I also edited the particles file, Making the bubbles that appear when splashing match the cube theme, making cubic splashes, and making the note block notes a little more interesting (and slightly more cubelike). In addition, I made cube-shaped smoke and an odd cube-shaped torch fire effect (will appear on torches, lit furnaces, lava embers and mob spawners).
So, yeah, that's what I did. If anyone can tell me an easy way to post the two images so people can take anything if they want to, please tell me and I'll do it. Thanks!
Okay, v6 is delayed till 14/2/11 (in WA(western australia)) however, this does give me time to think more about the future of this pack, heres what i hope to achive with this pack: A website, yes thats right a website where you can download the pack( and a developers choice version :3) and have a link to a blog made especialy for the pack, the blog would have all the latest news plus preview pics, the other main thing im thinking about is a donate button, this would mainly help with the website as i cant exactly pay for a website on my own(im 13), oh and the reason v6 is delayed is because i wasted 2 hours yesterday adding in about 30 alternative textures :biggrin.gif:, however only about 15 will be in v6 as some i dont realy like,
so yeah, if your one of the tl;dr folk here is basicaly what i said:
website perhaps? (if i get enough people saying do it)
development blog(definitly coming)
donate button?(this would only be added if a website gets made)
feedback and suggestions and hopefully thought on what i wrote in my block of text :biggrin.gif:
