May I just say your texture pack is easily my favorite out of the dozens I've seen, simply beautiful. It seems even my computer likes it as I get a slight fps boost while using it, odd but amazing! The one complaint I have is the gravel, it looks like missing no. from Pokemon red/blue, your the maker so you decide what goes in it, but I think it should look like it has small rocks in it instead of a jumble of pixels.
*edit* The block of lazuli looks odd as well, looks like someone stuck them into a block of stone. Not complaining but it can look better

Point and point. Lapis I had a hard time with, because I couldn't find a strong source image of what it looks like in formation with other stone. I'll see what I can do with it. As for gravel, I think I can keep it moreo r less how it is now (slight colour alteration) and then add in larger rocks here and there for contrast. I get the feeling a little would go a long way with that one.
Reeeeeally glad you like the pack.
Update with your suggestions + more coming in the next little while.
I've done a set of Shadow Monsters, following my theme with the creepers. We have shadow zombies, skeletons, and pigzombies - the ghasts are also currently pitch black with white eyes that open up when they fire, and look like a loose mass of veins and tendrils.
Do we like this idea? Should I refine it, or leave the majority of mobs as they are?
Also:
I've had one or two comments about my 'wooden waffle' grates. This is how they look in context with doors and a couple other standard blocks.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO CHANGE, could you offer up a suggestion or two?
Couple more shots of the shadow mobs in context...
Hmm, I like it. But you should also include the old skins like you include the alternative wools for people who might not. And for gravel I meant just a touch of bigger stones, like how you said just for contrast so you can tell its gravel. And as for a block of lapis lazuli I think it just has to be a shiny blue block, as it's a gemstone (theres other for contrast). Big block of lapis

Old skins already thrown in an "Alternate" folder. I'll rename them for easy copy/pasting.
Lapis is... Better now? I'm still iffy. Gravel looks awesome.
Gonna work a bit more on mobs and lapis before putting out the next update, but there'll be one before 1.7 - which I'm kind of excited for... What might "Adventure Update" actually mean?

^.^ Thank you! On a scale of 5 I give you get and a bonus .
I've been looking over the old development videos on youtube, and a few things stuck out to me. First is the fact the it was originally named Minecraft: Order of the Stone. Now what could that have ever meant. And the fact that the score still shows after you die, even though its just a few random characters. Also the old mobs like the giant, Rana, steve, beast boy, and black steve (lol love that name). They had to have some other purpose than just being there originally...Hmmmm. Well I should stop before I start rumors lol.
But all records will be released soon, maybe more rewards for completing dungeons, possibly bigger and more dangerous ones that give bigger loot omg I have to stop speculating before I get saddened this stuff doesn't get implemented lol. Ack to hell with it, possible use for cobweb?, possible implementation of lantern?, the fact that jeb has stated more food will be available after hunger is added?, more stuff in the nether?,...the planned dragon and pigman mobs :biggrin.gif: . Of course all of that was random guesses, it'd be cool if they added that stuff though

The rumors are numerous, this is true... I don't think it's gonna be so much about revamping old content though, as to do with the dungeons maybe being fleshed out, the Aether (sky realm) possibly getting put in, and some new life in the nether or water zones. Something to make exploring more rewarding and enticing. If you don't NEED anything from the nether, you don't have much reason to go, and if the waters are just big expanses of drowning, why would you bother hanging out near the sea bed? The world's being fleshed, and I feel like this is gonna just push all those boundaries a little further.
:ohmy.gif: Those things are terrifying! Love it! BTW nice house, mine are always just 2 story 20x20 boxes lol
Hehe, thanks man. That's actually just my spawn-point cabin, back when you always spawned where you started. Kinda wanna make sure that spot is secure.
New Gravel. Same graphic, only further worked to make it look like there's larger pieces as well. Again, thoughts? Does that work, or do I need to keep playing with it?
Hmm... I like the skeleton's body, but I'm not completely happy with the zombie's body. I feel that the faces could do with a rework, having mouths would be nice. As it is, the skeleton's eyes look like the creeper's, and the zombie's look like the spider's, and without different colors to tell the mobs apart, the white markings need to be very distinctive.
Also, ghasts ARE rather ghastly. I'm aware of this. They're next on the chopping block of change, only being held off on because I don't know what to do with them... I'm thinking of a kind of floating mesh of veins and eyes, transparent in places so they shift and writhe as they fly about. Perhaps? A little creepier than a floating baby face, and better than a 2D head spacing about.
That sounds AWESOME. Much scarier than wrinkly burnt flesh.
As for gravel, it looks a bit better. Maybe less purple would be good. I think if you made the little pebbles a bit more defined, it would be great.
Shadow monsters: I like it. Although, it kinda seems like you're making the "Fantasy Pack" into a "Scare-you-shitless-everytime-you-walk-out-a-door Pack". It really shouldn't be the central theme, just a single mob or two. But that's just my opinion. Either way, I still like both the same.

I'll touch up gravel a bit more before the update, then. :smile.gif:
As for the monsters... I dunno. I think they SHOULD be scary. I mean, here's the thing: Any veteran Minecrafter will know inside and out how to fight the mobs, how to avoid arrows, that they're faster than zombies, etc.
The shadow monsters idea makes your core bad guys (creepers, skeletons, zombies) harder to detect in the darkness, and also carries over the theme of bursting into flames come sun-up. Creatures made of darkness can't exist in the light, but animated corpses? We're not fighting a horde of vampires, here, and I've never heard of undead exploding in sunlight.
LET ME BE CLEAR: I'm not knocking the mobs or mechanics of the game. I just think, for those of us who want a bit more of a challenge, having monsters that are more difficult to find, let alone categorize, might be refreshing. I know if I see some shapeless shadow in my world right now, I have to take a moment to figure out what the hell it is before I know how to attack it. I LIKE that feeling of panic at something unknown.
Anyways... I will absolutely keep playing with them and figure out how to make them look awesome, and maybe a little more different from each other. Half the point though is to make them look more similar, so it feels like they're all part of the same bad-guy team, as it were.
