I realize now that I promised quite some time ago to completely re-skin all the monsters and critters for this thing.
I ALSO realize that I have entirely failed to complete this task.
THEREFORE, I shall now get my butt to work. I'm not going to say when it will be done, because guaranteed it won't if I set a deadline. Therefore, I'm gonna go on the tentative "A.S.A.P." intent, and try not to fail too hard.
If anyone has mob suggestions, post 'em up. I wanna know how you'd like to see these bad boys.
~
~
A few of the mobs have been touched up, including:
-The Hero!
-Zombies
-Pigs
And introducing... The PIG ZOMBIE!
Also a pic of my creeper/ghost, in case anyone hadn't seen it. These three pics are now on the front page.
I'll try to get a better shot of the zombies soon, but rest easy knowing they are AWESOME.
Still haven't done sheep, but they've been started. Also Squid. Still coming.

Hmm... maybe turning the creeper into a fire elemental?
I'd be happy to have an alternate fire-creeper skin, but my original idea is to make them freaking stealthy and creepy. It's a lot harder to see these guys underground now, and something about a floating spectral void that explodes on contact is a bit spookier to me than walking cacti stuffed with dynamite.
I'll see what I can whip up for an alternate fire elemental creeper and plug it into the next update. :smile.gif:
Of course, yours looks better. But I prefer mine, since it's red..
Hm, haven't gotten used to emotes on this forum...
Anyways, I really enjoy this texture pack. It has a good fantasy look without being too "clean", if that makes any sense. It's a rare balance, and you've hit very, very close to it. My only complaint is about the circular cobble and netherrack, but that's simply a matter of preference.
:smile.gif: Keep up the good work!
Edit: Aaah! Fire elemental creepers! Why didn't I think of that?!

And on the cobblestone and netherrack, fair enough.
My question to you is, how might I go about fixing it?
I've got a file in my pack for "Extra Block" textures, in which is my cobblestone from the SteamCraft pack, as well as it's version of mossy cobblestone. I've tried squared-off blocks, and they just seem a bit too much so... but at the same time, castles weren't made of cannon balls.
So, suggestions?
P.S. Thanks for liking the pack... Because this is clearly a choice you made, that I appreciate. :tongue.gif:
~
I think I've just made up a new cobblestone block that I really, really like.
I'm hoping for an opinion or two on it:
I'm going to include it in the Extra Blocks file either way, but I really think it works better than the round stones for a basic cobble block. Much more castle/mortar/stones, less beach-rocks-glued-together.
Yowza! Got your PM, checked this out, the new cobble is AWESOME! Sorry I couldn't reply earlier with suggestions, but you've really hit the nail on the head here! I like it!
As for netherrack, my suggestion would be to go for a "sharp" look, if that makes any sense. Sharp, blood-red stones that look dangerous. I'm still trying to perfect the look, myself, but you can probably do it way better. :smile.gif:
Again, this is some really sweet cobble you've got going on!
A bit easier on the eyes, still works good as a path, and now makes sense for building castles and walls. If the moss rock is like this, it should make for some excellent ruins. [approve]
EDIT: Hmm... I'm thinking that the moss rock should look chipped as well as mossy.
~
My lovely wife came home and pointed out that cobblestones aren't quite so uniform.
I had to agree. The results are as such:
I like it, over all. Same basic feel, little more diversity. ALSO, the mossy cobblestones look a bit more yellow than before, and are cracked and chipped in places.
And then...
Netherstone, POWER UP! I took your advice about making it a bit "sharper", and liked the shade of red here.
Not that you can tell, but soul sand has also changed a bit - just a subtle color alteration to make it less purple.
Gonna go do a new light stone block, and then... THERE SHALL BE UPDATE.
~
First incarnation of the Fire Creeper.
This will NOT be replacing the current shadow/ghost creeper - this is a request I'll just be slipping into the pack.
Hope ya like it, lemme know how you might want it changed. :tongue.gif:

Liking the new cobblestone, it looks more natural and not so "out of place" so to speak. Great idea for the marble as well, I was just looking at that yesterday and thought it would be great if it were continuous. The fire creeper looks a bit off, the eyes look kinda weird. Good picture of the skeletons, I've seen them a lot 'cause I built a skeleton trap for a dungeon I found. Keep up the amazing work. :smile.gif:
- New cobblestone block! - New mossy cobblestone block! - New netherrack block! - Updated Soul Sand block! It's a slightly different color! - New light stone block! - Updated iron block! The moon looks a lot better now! - Better torches! - New sheep texture! - Updated Zombie texture! - New/Updated Pig Zombie texture! - Updated hero skin! Slightly better shading!
Also...
- Extra Blocks file has all the old blocks, just in case you liked them better. (Plus some extras!) - Bonus creeper skin, the Fire Creeper! Might still work on it in the future. - A buncha new pictures in the thread! - 20,000+ Downloads!Thank you to everyone!
I think that's about it, for now... There may be more I'm forgetting, but if so... Um... I forgot. Give me your feedback! I wanna know if you like it, hate it, or don't really care!

Curse PremiumReally adds to the fantasy vibe.
Dunno where Marble is from.. A mod, I assume?
Either way, keep it up! This is great!
Marble is the stone slab, crafted like thus:
[] [] []
EDIT: forgive my idiot, you only need one row of cobblestone.
