Sorry they're so far away. Couldn't get any closer at the time.
I've taken up Eld's idea of doing the Ghast files at a higher resolution, since they're at least twice as big as everything else. Lemme know what you guys think of them, where they might need more detail, colour suggestions, what have you.
More on the way!
Thats really bizarre!
I have an idea, if you dont mind. Can we have ghasts in a different base color? As you did with the creepers? Just an idea
That ghast sure is interesting. I'm not sure how well it works with the baby coo coo sounds that the ghast makes, but then again we've probably seen enough "gothic emo baby" versions by now. Either way, I would add some shading to it to really make it pop.
Shading, for sure. I wanted to make sure you all liked the basic idea before getting into more detail. Thanks for the suggestion though - I'll work on it ASAP.

I like this idea too. Having these giant floating white things in a dark, fiery area seemed a bit odd to me. I was thinking of playing with semi-transparency, like I did with the creepers, to make these things stand out a bit more. Maybe have them only half-visible for the most part, then pop out when they're attacking.
Updated from yesterday's... And I really like 'em.
(Right after this picture was taken, I was smoked in the head from a ghast on my left.
The hit didn't hurt too much.
The 2,000,000 foot drop it led to did.)
(Terrible shot, sorry.)
Going on the same notion that I had from the creepers, I wanted to play with opacity. I did a test to find out if you could have fading opacity, but no dice - it's full transparency or fully opaque.
This design let's me get away from the I'm A Giant Floating Tentacle-Cube concept of the original ghasts, while still being creepy and face-ish. Plus, the old man face with the zombie baby giggle just makes me so happy.

Feed me back.
Oh my goodness. I think i'll have nightmares with those things!! I think this is a step in the right direction, but i somehow feel they aren't final yet, are they? :wink.gif:
Now, how do they look from behind?

They aren't for sure final, no. I need to figure out if they need any more shading, any little detail changes, etc.
Also, you can see all sides of the mob from any angle, so from behind it looks pretty much the exact same, only the ears are backwards. I had a back-of-head graphic in the initial test, but it just looked weird covering half the face. This design just makes it so from any angle you can see them, and aren't necessarily sure if they're looking at you or not.
Those were actually WIP file spiders that became the ones you see nowadays. I have a version of the red-eyed, widow-backed buggers in the files, but they're saved as a "2" version. You can go in and swap them up at your leisure. :tongue.gif:
A tree grew overnight just as this skeleton was walking by. I had to take a snapshot.
Sorry the screenies are crap, as usual. Lemme know what you guys think. I'm particularly happy with the segmentation on the skeletons, so they look like a pile of bones instead of really long tubes. Also, fairly happy with the muddy re-texturing of our hero into zombie format.
I'm trying to figure out how to do the little squidlinks. Not sure if I should just keep them the same kind of dark, buggy-lookin' things, or if there's a particular breed of squid that might suit better.
a mechanical squid might be cool, like your world was visited by squid-like aliens and left them there... idk it's be interesting especially with this pack...

If not, this would look awesome!
*Laughs* I think mechanical squid will have to be confined to SteamCraft. However, I do like the look of that little beauty you've got there. Might use him as a base model.
Weeeeelllllll... Ok, kinda fair. But at the same time, passive Kraken? I mean, you swim up next to the things and stab 'em with a sword, a Kraken would **** up your ****. Fo'realz. These guys don't even shoot ink at you. They just give you a mournful look and float away.
I'm thinking I should save the uber-boss textures for if they implement boss-type monsters. Keep squid squiddy for now. But I do like the idea.
Hmm... I just went and checked it myself, and everything seems to work just fine.
Did you try copy/pasting it into the address bar, or did you just click? Clicking worked for me.
hey Jehkoba, do you have any future plans for wildgrass support?
Honestly, I had no plans to implement code mod support of any kind. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to my modding. However, if someone wanted to point out what files/folders I'd need to make it work with the mods you guys are already using, then I don't see why not.

I'll see what I can do. :smile.gif:
I've got a really cool idea in mind. Gonna put it down and share once I get home.

What ever happened to these guys? i liked these guys :c
Let there be mobs!

Anyone else having troubles getting the download?

Where might I find such info?
