More screen for the next update. Major change coming next week'ish. This pack will become the RPGestankePack Version 1.0 Beta and the textures will be done. I will decide then how far I want to go with it (mobs and such). Might just see what you guys want then. Don't think I will be doing items at all though. So get your favorite item sheet ready :tongue.gif:
Most textures will also become another darker pack. Keeping the base theme but changing and making new the rest darker. More fantasy/horror. It will have mobs and a starter world with a story. Gotta get it all ready, but wanted to finish this one first.

Pack is now in beta. Last few things that "have to be done" will be this weekend. Then on to MOBS!!
But thats not the BIG part...
I have started a new "project". One that will be fully worked on once I finish Stankepack. It will be based on a theme I'm starting to use in my projects (something just keeps oozing ideas out). It will have completely new mobs (if I can :biggrin.gif:), new items for the theme, a back story written by me to go with an intro video, and an SP map with a beginning area (almost complete now).
Think of this to get you started:
Now onto the Stankepack Beta v1 UPDATE!!

I'm liking the update, especially the cactus, but the mossy cobblestone looks too light and yellow to me. I know I can always pop an alternative. Food for thought.

Thanks Ken!
I was thinking of changing the hue a bit to a more green tint. Kinda want the slimy cobble more than the clumps of moss on the rock. Seems more "Dungeon" to me. But yeah more green than yellow fer sure

Fixed/altered/created a bunch of stuff in StankePack (making the transition to Cthulhu v1) Still plan on doing the minecart, boat, and tracks this weekend...I hope
At last I'm here, mate! Wow! It's come on a lot since my last visit!
I know what Kendawg means about your mossy cobble, but I have to agree with you, as mossy cobble looks and feels better to me when it kind of looks slimey, that's what I tried to do with mine, because I thought it'd have more uses for underground passages, etc.
Your cobble is brilliant and tiles extremely well, I hope you use it as the basis for your next texture pack, because it's both dark and practical. Loving your sandstone too...it's making me want to have another go at mine! Then I was looking at one of your blocks and thinking what's that with a white slab on...then I realised it was your cobble and ...snow!
I particularly love the glass, the music player, torches, bookshelf, bricks and could go on! I'm not going to criticise anything, because I hate doing that and what do I know anyway? Just keep up the good work, don't stop tinkering and can't wait for the first peek at your next pack, if it's what I think it's going to be! lots of these and lots of these and a
ps. I do not know how on earth you manage to do the above, all your movies and still find time to tinker! :biggrin.gif:
ps. I do not know how on earth you manage to do the above, all your movies and still find time to tinker! :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for all the kind words Glimmar. I know I've done something when a real tex pack maker gives me a compliment
:biggrin.gif:
(I dunno how I get the time either...until my eyes close and I realize I forgot to sleep)
The mossy cobble has indeed been my passion. It's my favorite block, so I've been spending a lot of time making variations. I've included them in the latest update for people to swap. I took what Ken said and made it more of a green hue also and it turned out great. I'll post more screens soon.
Other things included were all brand new leaves (mostly), changed the bookcase (I am pleased with the new dual level with other trinkets on them), fixed the saturated and not saturated soil a bit as well as the crops(need input here as I haven't tested these in game), new gravel (another one I feel better about), brand new CACTUS (yay..it rules), fixed the step/dbl step so it matches the cobble more, changed the dispenser a bit while I work on the "face" of it (:tongue.gif:), as well as other tweaks.
I'll post more screens soon. Might even make a video walk-through the changes...with my actual voice instead of music

I actually did the flowers...and actually like them!
:biggrin.gif:
Also made a new bed and have ideas for the transparency part (you could have glass block with goldfish innit...for example) and a lily pad...but can no testee it yet
Updated pack in the OP (no new version) and a couple of screens here:

Gestankfaust - I knew you were working hard on this *project* of yours, but HOLY SMOKES! I didn't realize you were truly working hard!
You have arrived my friend as a Texture Pack creator! Glimmar, you have some serious competition LOL
I will make a point of installing the G-Stanke TP this weekend. I'll do a fly-by of some of my builds and see how they look...I'm giddy with anticipation.
I like the flowers, but I prefer the other bed you made. T_T And I miss the cherry wood paneling... Keep up the good work, this is my favorite pack.
Thanks for the feedback and compliment!
The last bed I showed was just an alt. The first bed it the one in the pack. Out of curiousity, which or what part of the wood paneling is it you liked? Most of the wood texture is still used, but did you like the wood planking also (the solid with fram, or the actual one with planks)? Cause I might go back to that for the all around and finished pack.

I meant the wood planks(The solid with frame version.), though it looks more like a panel than a plank so I just call it paneling. It went really nice with the blue color the stone slabs had, though now they're grey.
Hmm, makes me wonder if Notch'll ever put different colored wood panels to go with the different trees, if so he better add Cherry and Mahogany trees...
love the pack except for the brick, pumpkins and sandstone. dont like them at all but besides that its the best pack i have seen.
Thanks for checkin it out Taz. I appreciate the feedback a lot.
Well...I aint havin pumpkins :tongue.gif: (I tried...might try them again...but I like the magic orbs)
Sandstone is staying. (what don't you like about it?) Build an Egyptian or Incan temple and tell me you don't like it then :biggrin.gif:
The bricks? Well, they could be changed. What ideas do we all have that others haven't done?
Besides all that...the pack is done! I will be testing it this week to make sure everything is lookin like I want it. I fixed the wood plans to kind be like the current one and the old cherry wood mixed. Can't believe I actually did the flowers and mushrooms....
Screens and update in the morning!
