Here's my personal version of Nerolucien's pack + others. It's a hodgepodge of I think painterly, quandary, eld's, with a Zelda base. Actually I think it might just be painterly and zelda by now. I tend to add things and take them away pretty constantly. It's titled The Gentleman Pack, for no particular reason.
The main thing is that it has updated items.png (and container GUI, etc.). The OP has only updated his pack's terrain so far.
Also, if anyone does try out The Gentleman Pack, please feel free to provide any feedback on stuff you feel is wonky/lame/glitched. Like I said, I change it pretty often.
The download link in my original post is now updated with the latest.
Some of the changes are that I have completely updated the terrain and the items! Also I put in a starter texture of the spiders as Tektites from older LoZ games. I will continue updating as much as I can. With being a father to my beautiful baby Zelda I have had my hands full lately and to update this I stayed up all night (much to the dismay of my wife wanting me to come to bed).
So enjoy this and PLEASE just tell me if there is something you would like to be changed or if there is anything specific you have created that you want in the main pack! I am more than happy to place items/terrain/mobs etc that you guys have made into the official pack! Also if you would like to have your name mentioned for anything you have created just PM me and tell me what exactly you have made that is in the official pack and I will list ALL contributions on the original post!
[EDIT] Also I am rubbish at skinning mobs so if anyone is any good at it and wants to help then please let me know!]
I will be working on a modified ore tile-set today for those of you who want more obvious ores. I will try to stick to the Link to the Past theme with it so we will see what I come up with!
[EDIT= I have changed the ores and what not! Let me know if you want them different. Also changed clay toa sand texture since it always spawns near water...]
Thank you sooooooo much for taking this texture pack and updating it(i had it before the Halloween update).
i have always loved this and now its even better!
You're welcome,
I greatly appreciate the feedback because if even one person other than me enjoys it then all my long hours are completely worth it. It may seem like such simple work has been done for these textures but I can spend an hour on one block just because I will make many versions of it and revise each of them numerous times until either my eyes/brain hurt and I don't care anymore or it looks perfect to me. Usually a combination of both occur and I am so tired of working on one block that my brain tells me it looks fine and move on lol.
I am working on so many projects at once I may be over stretching my time, if anyone has aything they think would be a cool addition let me know and I will work on it. Also sorry if the Tektite spider looks kind of dull but it was a quick mockup and I didn't quite know where each section of the body was where in the texture file but I think it works for now. Also a neat thing is that the Tektites eye is wide open at night and during the day it is half closed like he is tired and uninterested.
when I try to use this texture pack minecraft just stops working (grey screen?).
Because of this I have to move the zip file so I can run it again. Any idea why this might be happening?
also, I noticed the zip file is rather large for a texture pack.
By the way, Alyx, one thing I'd recommend, if you get the time, is to make a tooltips file that coincides with your items.png. The only problem is that it'd be a separate download (since it has to go in minecraft.jar proper, not the texture pack .zip), so you can't pack it in the pack itself. Other than that, it's easy going!
I did it for my items.png, renaming Golden Apple to Golden Pineapple, Pork to Bacon, Buckets to Cauldrons, Sulphur to Bombs, Wooden Sword to Wooden Club, Pickaxes to Hammers, etc. It's a nice little touch.
I showed Nero these while he was livestreaming, He said you all did it wrong basically. He got so annoyed he actually started updating, the items are only meant to have a 4 color pallete to resemble snes.

I might make another thread for this, but it might not deserve one. We'll see.
One thing that I may alter soon is the flowers.

I agree, the first one looks more zelda-esque to me. Like something out of Link's Awakening.
Because of this I have to move the zip file so I can run it again. Any idea why this might be happening?
